Weight Loss Week 1 Day 5 - THE WEIGH IN
2008-01-31 05:19:00
Ok, you guys may be wondering why in the world I am weighing in day 5 of my week instead day 7. Well, I learned a long time ago perfection isn’t worth it. I felt myself slipping. I thought I needed some structure so I began a week on plan without ‘officially’ weighing in. (For the record, I officially weigh in on the Weight Watchers scales) I started when I needed to start, not “tomorrow”, ...

Weight Loss Week 1 Day 4 - An Unexpected Day
2008-01-30 06:02:00
This morning I felt like Kelly Bundy. Remember the episode of Married with Children when Kelly said, every new piece of information pushes an old one out? Well it’s true, it happens. I think I have hit my maximum brain capacity.
This morning went off without a hitch. I ate breakfast with the toddler, packed a great lunch, hopped in car and headed to the day care on the way to work. It was a ...

Down 2 lbs of what?
2007-06-23 04:41:36
Today I was down 2 pounds from yesterday. It was my first day back on plan without snacking and I ate good healthy foods. Can I really lose 2 lbs that fast? Let’s see, I’ll do the Math…
There are 3,500 calories in one pound of body fat.
Estimating a point at about 50 calories [...] ...

Feeling Better
2007-06-22 05:04:23
My points seem a bit high but I feel really good about today. I tracked when I ate in addition to what. I don’t think I’m going to keep that up, it’s a bit labor intensive, but I wanted to give it a try.
I ate today like I did for the [...] ...

I Love Playing Tag!
2007-06-22 05:00:49
You know I’m a sucker for this stuff. I’ve been tagged, by Laura from The Pursuit of Healthyness, so here goes!
WHAT WERE YOU DOING TEN YEARS AGO?
Ten years ago, I was 20, working in Florida for a company called Asplundh. I drove 6 states away alone on summer vacation from my junior year [...] ...

Tomato Mozzarella Pita with Spinach Pesto
2007-06-22 03:33:16
I was lucky enough to come home for lunch today and have a minute while the toddler was napping.
Inspired by a sandwich my friend had yesterday while shopping this came out better then I ever expected! And so pretty although my picture doesn’t do it justice. Just imagine the red [...] ...

144.5 . . .
2007-06-21 04:24:34
That was the number on the scale this morning. This is getting out of hand. I don’t want to insult those trying to lose weight, I know that’s a low number BUT it’s almost 10 pounds from where I’ve been and I feel as if I’m losing control.
So how do I [...] ...

Vitalicious Chocolate Raspberry Brownies
2007-06-20 22:18:26
Yet another experiment with Vitalicious VitaMixes that came out ‘delish’! (I made Surprise Chocolate Cherry Muffins a few weeks ago) Let me warn you now, either invite 11 friends over to eat the whole batch at once or freeze the leftovers immediately. I’m not kidding when I tell you I ate 3! [...] ...

Baked Garden Salmon Cakes
2007-06-20 01:58:50
This was my first attempt at salmon cakes and I already have a few ideas to change it up a bit. They came out a little dry because I over cooked them in the broiler, can you tell from the picture?
Oh did I tell you the husband liked them! SHHhhhh I [...] ...

Naturally Slim
2007-06-19 04:38:20
I read an article entitled 8 secrets of the naturally slim in last months issue of Prevention that got me thinking. Are there naturally slim people? I mean everyone has to work at it, right? Then I realized the husband is one of “those” people. He’s gaining weight now that he’s [...] ...

Old Habits and Fat Jeans
2007-06-18 14:18:14
Old Habits are like an old pair of fat jeans. They slip right on and feel so comfortable. You know you shouldn’t be wearing them but you do anyway. There is something welcoming and familiar about them. Plus we revert back to them when we feel sad, depressed or tired.
My busy [...] ...

A Few Days Off
2007-06-15 05:38:44
I need some! Tomorrow is the toddlers 2nd birthday, we have a Wedding on Saturday and a party on Sunday. Needless to say, it’s going to be a busy weekend. I don’t think I will have time to post but I’ll be around on the boards and I’ll probably keep up with [...] ...

Big Simple Chocolate Cupcakes
2007-06-15 03:49:23
I made these for the toddler’s 2nd birthday. They came out better then I expected, moist, yummy and HUGE! Well, huge compared to the normal low point cupcakes I’m used to. ;~)
I used sprinkles to decorate some instead of frosting. This way I save points but they still look festive!

It’s late…
2007-06-14 05:34:19
and I had a REALLY long and busy day. This is going to be quick.
I started out jotting everything down but by the end of the day I was a munch-a-holic! A nibble here, a nibble there, a bite (or 3) of the toddlers cheeseburger, and a dark chocolate miniature to [...] ...

Poker Night Success
2007-06-13 05:32:35
Well I stepped away a winner! Doubled my money against the “boys”. I stayed clear of the poker snacks. They had pizza rolls, one of my weaknesses. BUT I went right after dinner and was still satisfied so it was easy to turn them down. Thankfully, they didn’t last long with [...] ...

2007-06-13 05:13:01
A few people have inquired about a black bean dip recipe because the store bought stuff is harder to find then gold! Why? I’ll never know. This is my first attempt using what I had on hand, not bad, but I may experiment a bit with it in the future.

That’s All?
2007-06-12 00:41:27
I’m going out tonight so this is going to be short.
It’s after dinner, I just tallied up my points for the day, and I literally said, “That’s all?” Did I really only eat 17 points? Those on Weight Watchers know, that’s not much. What’s strange is that I’m not hungry at all. [...] ...
