Continueing Pants Coverage
2007-06-25 18:11:10
A judge ruled Monday in favor of a dry cleaner that was sued for $54 million over a missing pair of pants.    The man above, Roy L. Pearson (an administrative law judge), originally sought $67 million from the owners of the dry cleaning establishment that he frequented, claiming they lost a pair of expensive pants from a suit, then tried to give him a pair of charcoal gray pants that he claimed were not his. The sum of his lawsuit was created by him adding up years of alleged law violations and almost $2 million in common law fraud claims.   In the end, District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Judith Bartnoff ruled that he did not have enough evidence to prove that the pants were not his, and that his allegations over a sign saying “Satisfaction Guaranteed” was false advertisement were not in line with how people should consider such statements from businesses.       “A reasonable consumer would not interpret ‘Satisfaction Guaranteed’ to me ...

Man killed by blue sky lightning
2007-06-24 03:11:20
Beautiful Blue Skies… of DEATH!!! There are lots of things we must fear in nature: sharks, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, bears, hurricanes, icebergs, etc. Add to that list the seemingly innocuous blue sky. That’s right… some poor landscaper in the Miami area was struck by lightning on a beautiful, sunny and freakin’ CLOUDLESS day. 41 year old David Canales was struck and killed by a phenomenon known as “bolt from the blue” or “dry lightning.” What the hell!?!?! Don’t mess with Texas.
2007-06-20 21:21:17
On top of that, if you hit someone with your car in Texas… specifically, a little girl… RUN! Hell, don’t run, drive to the nearest police station and have them lock you up for your safety, because around the corner are a bunch of 10 Gallon Hats of Doom coming to bludgeon you to death! Two guys accidentally hit a girl while driving a car. They got out to make sure the girl was alright, and then a sudden mob attacked. The passenger of the vehicle was BEATEN TO DEATH. The driver managed to get away and is cooperating with the police. There was a man that tried to stop the crowd, but they started to attack him to for defending the passenger of the vehicle. What the hell is wrong with people sometime? Click here for the Yahoo! News article Technorati Tags: Texas, bludgeon, BEATEN TO DEATH, police ...

Tha Pope’a Says!
2007-06-19 16:05:34
The Vatican must have found a burning bush over the weekend, because they have come down with a new set of commandments, the Motorists’ 10 Commandments! God be praised, maybe now people wont be complete knobs on the roadways… well, they’ll still be knobs, but they will BURN IN HELL FOR ETERNITY for it now! The NEW 10 commandments: 1. You shall not kill. 2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm. 3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events. 4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents. 5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin. 6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so. 7. Support the families of accident victims. 8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating e ...
Now pitching… The Lefty-Righty
2007-06-15 00:52:14
Even if you’re not a baseball fan (communist)… you gotta admit this is pretty freakin’ incredible. There’s this kid pitching for the Creighton University baseball team who can pitch with both arms. And he’s pretty darn good with each. His name is Pat Venditte, and he’s a junior who, as you can imagine, is starting to get catch the eye of pro scouts. He’s got a specially made glove, so he can switch hands and pitch with either arm during the same inning. Umpires working Creighton’s games have to dust off seldom-used rules regarding switch-pitchers. Like everyone else, Venditte gets only eight warm-up pitches upon entering a game and five before any inning, whether he chooses to throw left-handed or right-handed, and may not warm up again if he changes arms midinning. Here’s the link to NYTimes story about him (you may need to register, but it’s free). There’s a short clip of him pitching with both arms during warmups. ...

Money = Happiness (thanks Dr. Obvious)
2007-06-11 19:01:54
The age old question of whether or not money can actually buy happiness has finally been answered scientifically - at least for Brits A research team from the University of London surveyed 10,000 English about their happiness level, as well as wealth, health & social relations.  They were then ranked from 1-7 depending on their “life satisfaction.”  Apparently friendships & social relationships are important too, just not nearly as interesting. In related news, my research team is seeking a generous grant to study the Money vs. Happiness scenario as it relates to US citizens, specifically those living in Green Bay, WI.  More specifically, those living in my house.  If you have a spare, say, $2 million you’d like to donate to the cause, I am we are excited to get started on our exhaustive study.
