This is a big story in the news this week about the Mitchell Report came out with baseball players using steroids. Some are favorites with popular names like around 80 former and current players are in the report. I knew Barry Bonds was not the only player doing this as mentioned in my other blog posts on this subject. I am surprised they put this report public I thought maybe they would hide as long as they could. Maybe in a way they did with some saying been going for awhile. So much talk by people should they be taken out of the record books I don’t kow what I feel about this yet. I really don’t know what to think they did break a record but did it with doing drugs. Doing drugs did give them an advantage over honest players who are drug free. I am sure baseball is not the only sport this is happening in. I think some sports has become all about using drugs to improve playing statistics to become a higher paid player in the game to become famous. - My Other Sports Blogs About Thi

For far too many fantasy owners, the months between the World Series and the start of spring training have become an extended vacation from the stewardship of their teams. Without box scores to digest during lunch breaks at work or Baseball Tonight to keep them company at night, many owners lapse into a state of [...]
February 1 is right around the corner, and so is BIG NEWS for the Fantasy Baseball Guy and this site. Over the past year this site has grown in content as well as audience, and I'd like to thank the loyal reads who've continued to come to site and support it.

Keeper leagues are a lot like college fraternities. Membership is exclusive. There are dues to pay. You're among good friends, drinking buddies and other like-minded dudes. Everybody has silly nicknames. Hazing is expected, encouraged, … even celebrated. And there's usually some guy name Dusty that hits on all the ugly girls.
As the 2008 season approaches, [...]
There will be some shockers, sleepers, and disappointments in my Top 300, but that's to be expected. You'll also see that some of the positional rankings have changed since the last time you've seen them. All the above are to be expected as we grow ever so closely to the beginning of draft season.
If you've [...]
For many fantasy baseball purists, a head-to-head league will always be seen as a bastardized version of the original, a red-headed stepchild to the traditional 5 X 5 rotisserie format.
Not to me. I play both styles each year. And enjoy each of them for their own subtle virtues. I enjoy the balance that head-to-head leagues [...]
With the number of e-mails coming in about who are next season Free-Agents, I thought it'd be important to give you Fantasy Owners the ammo that you'll need when going into the draft.

With Fantasy Baseball right around the corner for RotoHog.com Baseball, I thought I'd take a look at the players that scored the most points in 2007 based on RotoHog's Scoring System.

Wouldn't it be great is you knew the exact number of HR's or RBI you needed in order to win your leagues in 2008? Lets say while you were preparing for you draft, you had insider information, that in 2008 if you players stole 153 bases you would win that category. How great would that [...]

I started looking into the Contact Rate % and how it can affect Fantasy Owners, and the more I dug into this, the more I felt that those with lower Contact Rate % were better for your team. Why? Well when you look at Contact Rate %, the formula is ((AB-K)/AB), which means we eliminate [...]
From: DaveTo: Kanka10:28 AMHall of Fame announcements are today. Here's my ballot:In:Goose Gossage. Having not lived through his era, I didn't realize his greatness until I really started reading about him. Lots of things that can't be captured through today's conventional game.Jack Morris. If I have to explain this again this year, then you clearly haven't been paying attention to my emails the last few years.Close but no cigar:Jim Rice. I wouldn't have a big problem if he got in, since he did have some dominant years, but I don't know enough about him.Andre Dawson. He was really good, but when people say they're voting for him, they inevitably say, "he'd be a shoe-in if he wasn't hurt all the time." Umm, but he was, and it affected his body of work over the course of his career.Todd Stottlemyre. Kidding, just seeing if you're paying attention. From: KankaTo: Dave11:09 AMHere's someone who's keeping track of published ballots:http://www.meadowparty.com/blog/?p=118Here's an abbr
