This post was supposed to be posted yesterday, but better late than never. Happy Birthday To Me. I can say now that I'm in my mid twenties :). It is strange how people can surprise you at times. The ones you expect to remember your birthday, forget, and the ones you expect to forget, call and wish you. Lots of family members called and wished me yesterday. But my best friend forgot. She has just moved to Dubai, and I don't think she has a landline yet. Suffice it to say that it was the darkest, gloomiest birthday I ever had. One I'm never going to forget. I had a vicious headache all day long. One of the lessons I have learnt (and yet to practise) is not to expect anything from anybody, and I won't be as disappointed. I've started reading books by Virginia Andrews. I love the characters in her books. Whenever I'm baking a cake for a friend's birthday, the part that takes the longest is deciding what kind of cake to bake. After thinking about it for hours and then sleeping on it, then a few more hours of thought in the morning, I decided to make a White Velvet Cake with Classic Lemon Buttercream and a Raspberry Glaze. It was a nice light cake with subtle flavors, perfect after our very heavy meal.I used recipes from The Cake Bible for all three components: cake, filling/frosting, and glaze. I love Rose Levy Beranbaum's book because you can mix and match recipes from each section to make your own cake. She also gives recipes for full cakes. Although, I don't recommend this book for beginners, it is one of my favorite cookbooks, and great for when you're ready to take baking up a notch.

I also went to a special place just for kids called "Chuck E. Cheese's" to celebrate my 2nd birthday. There were lots of kids there just like me who came to play and have a good time. I heard that it is a great place to celebrate your birthday and after being there for a while, I think so too. There was a big sliding board that I liked and lots of other fun things to do and ride on. I even rode in a car with Barney! My Mommy told me that she went to a lot of birthday parties there when she was a little girl. When it was time to eat, we had something that is definitely on my list of favorites... pizza! I feel incredibly old. I'm sure my body is much older than my years, actually. Which is rather depressing. This day always meant a good excuse to eat cake. I miss cake. And frosting. After all, these traits are universal and they know no boundaries.

On a day when Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi took oath, as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for a third time in a row, party leaders said the occasion has become special since it coincides with former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee’s 84th birthday anniversary. After arriving home from Chinese food, Wilson opened his presents. He was enjoying being the center of attention -- being silly and enjoying hearing us laugh at his jokes. He was pleased with his presents.... NEAT KID.
We had a wonderful Christmas eve service, packed to the gils (338 people) The first 7 minutes before Kyle arrived with Wilson, Jimmy and Dminyk I was panicking. Kyle hates to be late so I started thinking the worst. Imagining a car wreck and thinking about our lives without those four was very sobering. I was really grateful to see them arrive.After church we headed out for Chinese food as our Christmas Eve tradition. Everyone was fairly appropriate at the restaurant and Wilson was especially thrilled. He loves Chinese and he loves shrimp and he got them both. He was the last one still eating after everyone else was done.It was fun to be together in a relatively calm atmosphere. We enjoyed one another and everyone was pleasant. Nice.
God has an incredible sense of humor -- and knows just how to bless us. We had many people, including at least a couple of our own children, wondering why we wanted to add children. But Leon and Wilson have been such an incredible blessing to us. Wilson is one of the cutest things I have ever laid eyes on and, as I have mentioned, he is never hesistant to let me cuddle up with him, love on him, kiss him, and hug him. He's the best.In addition to the blessing of Leon and Wilson, we have a lot of people being very generous to us this Christmas. People that we never expected to have given us gifts, gift cards, cash. This is it! The big event of Dora the explorer and my niece. In the morning we woke up early, we decorate balloons inside and outside of our house. We clean up messes in the surroundings, at 9am my sister went to the cake store to pick up the ordered cake and bought ice cream for the kids. In lunch time the friends of baby Anne are coming to join her precious moment of her 1st birthday. Our neighbors, relatives, friends, godmother and godfather of baby Anne are there also. After lunch my sister gets the ice cream for the kids, when the kids saw the ice cream all of them shouted “wow ice cream yehey”. They are very happy while enjoying eating there ice cream, then my sister slices cakes for them too! When the eating is over, we give each of them the give-away that we prepared and balloon.
