As per the previous post the GBPJPY could not press the 208.88 hard enough, so it moved higher on short covering as we entered the Europe/london close time period. The pair was able to squeeze through the 100 hour moving average at 209.31 and move to a high of 209.52. Watch the 209.31 level to see if it provides intraday support now.
Chalmers Johnson, writing in Le Monde Diplomatique, says “there is an enormous anomaly in the US economy above and beyond the subprime mortgage crisis, the housing bubble, and the prospect of recession: 60 years of misallocation of resources, and borrowings, to the establishment and maintenance of a military-industrial complex as the basis of the [...]

December NPD: No wonder you're broke this monthFiled under: Nintendo DS, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3, Sony PSP, Nintendo Wii, Microsoft Xbox 360, BusinessWelcome to the introductory paragraph, where we discuss the NPD's latest US video game sales data and how it reveals 2007 to be a ludicrously lucrative year for the industry. The gaming hobby which once drew empty stares and disappointed glares from your parental units has capped a phenomenal year with December sales amounting to $4.82 billion. With the year's total sales (excluding PC games) enjoying a 43% increase over 2006 to reach $17.94 billion, it seems the industry can outright buy your uninterested mom and dad with nary a second thought.Perhaps you should consider putting your entire family (they're made out of meat, after all) up for sale in order to recoup your part of December's $2.37 billion spent on software. Unsurprisingly, the best-selling game of 2007 was Bungie's Halo 3, followed by a $10 peripheral pa

This is a story you don’t want to miss…
You know as well as I do how many people get into Internet Marketing with BIG dreams…you know, making six figures, bringing in cash on autopilot, that kind of thing.
But how many people turn that into a REALITY?
I can tell you that it happens, because with my [...]
Hythe ProbusOn Wednesday 5 December, I set off to speak to the Probus Club of Hythe near Southampton. I always seem to have travel problems when they book me. Last June, I arrived in Southampton very early and, as it was a lovely, sunny morning, I had planned to travel across to Hythe by ferry. Unfortunately, it was such a lovely, hot day that by 9.30am the boat had seized up in the heat and wasn't running! The Speaker Secretary drove all the way around to fetch me and still managed to get me there for the start of the meeting - much to the relief of their new President. This time around, there was no chance of me wanting to go by ferry because the weather, as forecast, was terrible, so I was being picked up from Southampton station but my lift was delayed by 25 minutes due to traffic problems. Clive, the new Speaker Secretary, and Joe, the Treasurer, eventually arrived and turned out to be great characters. We reached the golf club in good time and I set up ready for the Groucho Marx ta
Apparently tighter inventory controls by retailers, the mortage crisis, stagnant wages, lack of grain surpluses and higher gas prices have combined to create a perfect storm. From the NY Times:MANCHESTER, N.H., Nov. 26 — Food banks around the country are reporting critical shortages that have forced them to ration supplies, distribute staples usually reserved for disaster relief and in some instances close. “It’s one of the most demanding years I’ve seen in my 30 years” in the field, said Catherine D’Amato, president and chief executive of the Greater Boston Food Bank, comparing the situation to the recession of the late 1970s. Experts attributed the shortages to an unusual combination of factors, including rising demand, a sharp drop in federal supplies of excess farm products, and tighter inventory controls that are leaving supermarkets and other retailers with less food to donate....“Donations are down, and people who need help is up,” said Liz Carter, executive

It seems like lately every time I have good news, I also have bad news to share. I should rename my blog the yin/yang effect or something. Anyways my first check from CashCrate has just arrived so I WAS going to take a picture of it. Until I found out that my camera no longer works. So I'm sending a picture that I took from my camera phone, which btw is also on its last leg.I'll just be borrowing the camera from work to take a full size picture of the check next time. The total check amount was for 20.25, which was about the same as the total on my September Earnings. I guess this will going towards my buying another @%!% camera fund. Anyways if your new to CashCrate, you can check out my other CashCrate review posts.

Barry Bonds last night broke the home run record of 756 that was previously held by hall of fame legend Hank Aaron. Barry Bonds beating that record with much controversy of did he play the game fairly with rumors of him using performance enhancing drugs. Nevertheless, he did break the record but did he do it honestly I don’t know. He is not the only one doing this if he is using I think many players might be using some form of performance enhancing drug like steroids. Would be surprised what players are using drugs to improve playing statistics to become a high paid popular player in the game of baseball.Do I think Barry Bonds has been using performance enhancing drugs yes. For the reason that his appearance is different than in the past with growing a bigger body structure, developed extreme muscles and more. Bonds almost looks like another person compared to when he played for the Pirates. He has been playing for the San Francisco Giants since 1993 he changed so much since playing
So, ive been trying to the best of my knowledge and abilities to increase my traffic, pagerank and blogging network. I previously wrote about my Part 1 of improving traffic into a blog, and made updates in increasing it. And who could ever forget my down-time? If your a Frequent reader of kirbitz, you know what i mean. But i kept my head up, moved on, and hey, Broke the 500k mark on Technorati! When i checked over my Technorati profile just a while ago, i was delighted to see that my ranking is 465,230 of all the blogs on technorati. Not bad for a 2 week old blog. Dont you think so? I dont mean to sound imposing but hey, its one of those times that you just have to pat your back and say "Great job, Kirby!". And honestly, im not stopping here. My short term goal is to increase about a couple of thousand ranks per week and a target of 100k-350k of ranking ao month. If all goes well, i would be on the peak on the end of my 3rd or 4th month. Quite ambitious i should say. But hey, to dream is
The blogger, Luke Ford, wonders why the LA Times sat on the story, and says Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s troubles could just be starting, as there may be multiple other women too.
Ford describes himself as hard right politically (and who better to leak a story like this to) however Villariagosa has admitted he cheated on his wife, who is divorcing him.
There was a time that Villaraigosa was a respected progressive and labor organizer. But those days are long gone.
Reader Joe Hartley says “You would be aghast, Bob, to see the rapid decline of the LA Times since you left. ” (Sue and I moved to Connecticut from LA. in Feb. of this year)
Well my fellow blogger, Middle Class Millionaire recently became a parent. So I thought I would share some things I've learned about raising kids and money so far.Kids accept anything they grow up with as normal. This is your key to raising a happy child without going broke. For example, my kid mostly wears clothes from Walmart. Why? I don't need high quality when the out grows it before wearing it out. So why spend the money, unless your wife is having a 'It is SO CUTE' moment and the item is on sale at the Please Mum store. The fancy looking crib is really for yourself and not your kid. Otherwise you would just accept the fact it doesn't have to look good to any but you 95% of the time for only a few years. Try to find one that converts to a toddler bed so you can really get some use out of it.A cradle is a waste of money for most people. The kid doesn't need to be in there in the first place. A few rolled up towels gives the same effect in the crib. Also the change table is a c
Superhero movies are among my guilty-pleasures, right above epic period films. Batman Begins and the first two Spider-Man films are some of my favorites from the genre. I generally anticipate the release of superhero movies for months in advance, with the exception of Ghost Rider and other obscure characters. I’m already stoked about Iron Man and The Dark Knight (the Batman sequel) both coming out next summer. This being said, I couldn’t have been more excited about Spider-Man 3. All of the principal actors returning, Sam Raimi once again directing, villains Sandman and Venom; it seemed destined to be two hours and twenty minutes of web-swinging eye-candy.I was disappointed. Depressed, actually. The 3 a.m. drive home from the midnight showing (which started late and required shifting the entire audience to another screen) did nothing to help my foul mood. The first half-hour is great, seeming to set up an amazing arch for the rest of the movie. Old history is quickly revisited and
MANAGEMENT GURU‘The science of today is the technology of tomorrow’, a cliché apt for the tech-savy world we live in. To add to it all, the merging of wireless world and telecommunication has taken ‘communication technology’ to higher highs at dizzying speeds. And just when we were getting accustomed to the term, loud announcements of the entry of 4G was made. It’s no-brainer that planning for the next generation must be done while the previous phase is being implemented. And the generations differ from each other on various aspects – right from their primary focus and speed of data transfer, to the degree of mobility. The initial stages, particularly 2G became an instant hit because it revolutionised the way we communicated, making it ‘wirefree’, while focussing on the quality of voice transmission. Then an advanced generation (3G) caught on us, coupled with telecom operators heralding its entry with impressive promises of delivering various web-enabled services and mu
