Setting up an internet cafe is one of my plans ever since I started getting hooked online, lets face it not all of us can afford a pc and get it hooked online. Now with establishing our very own internet cafe (Wafa and I with the help of bukie) we need knowledge on how routers [...]
After a haircut, I bee-lined towards the train station, but I caught a glimpse of a little place I never noticed, Dub Cafe? What does that mean, I thought? I was in a rush but I wanted to take a peak. This tiny place had a nice vibe and the chalkboard had some special on it that included coffee, food, and a mix tape? I ordered a coffee and I was delighted that the guy steamed the cream for me. That made it worth the $2.The place peaked my curiosity. I browsed the web and couldn't find anything on a Dub Cafe. I did find Dubspot, roughly in the same location, and it all made sense. So this is what the cafe of a DJ, VJ, and electronic music productions school would be like. Cool Beans...

Rocking Horse Cafe is a uniquely elegant voice of New York with a warm Mexican accent and offers serious food in a casual environment. Designed to evoke the spirit of Rocking Horse's contemporary menu, the restaurant's modern sleekness and bold blocks of color are warmed by Mexican-inspired works of art. Delightful innovative dishes as well as contemporary treatments of the classics
Believe it or not, I've never been to the famous Union Square Cafe Union Square Cafe. It's expensive, and at times very hard to get reservations, so somehow, it has slipped through, until today. My friend Lily and I made last minute plans for lunch there and it happens to be restaurant week (which I pay no attention to for dinner since I haven't been impressed the last few times). We had a very enjoyable lunch for a very good price so I'm sure to return to Union Square Cafe again, at least for lunch during restaurant week. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, just clean and comfortable, tables spaced apart nicely unlike most of NYC. The floors were slippery though and I almost fell twice. Three types of fresh bread, olives, and butter are presented at seating and water is delivered and refilled promptly. I was very happy with their 2008 restaurant week menu because there was four choices per course. I hate when there is only two choices for any of the courses and I've seen that often on res

Traditional Greek coffeeWhile in Greece I couldn't stomach the local coffee very much. If anyone has ever tried "Greek style" coffee you'll know what I mean. It's a mean brew, all thick with a rich sediment that forms on he bottom of the cup. I personally believe it's an acquired taste and one that I'm not really keen on enjoying. Still, every house I went to, I was offered this rich brew and I politely accepted. Greek Iced Coffee or "Frappe" However, I did get to enjoy the local iced coffee otherwise known as "frappe". Dark, rich, cold with a golden foamy top this drink is very popular especially in the summer months. People sit at cafes for hours with one of these sipping it very slowly enjoying its rich, intense flavours. The cruel irony for me is, that's it's made with instant coffee!!! Shock! Horror! I couldn't believe it. Apparently this is the best way to achieve the golden foam on top. While I believe instant coffee does serve its purpose (in extreme emergencies) I r

Lon and I had Sunday brunch at Society Cafe Society Cafe. The slightly artsy cafe has average food, terribly slow service (I eventually got up to get my own menu.), at regular Manhattan prices. No discount for being in Harlem which I expected. I had the Stuffed French Toast which was too soggy but otherwise pretty good. Lon's Turkey Club came with cheese (not listed on the menu) which he did not want and the salad greens were not dressed. The ingredients were fresh and the portion sizes were nice but we wouldn't go again.

A week ago I was in New-York visiting Mathieu, my husband. Yes we are living far away from each other. He is finishing his MBA and I am in France, Antibes (right on the French Riviera) waiting for a legal US work permit.I spend a 3-day week-end in New-York and we enjoyed touristic stuffs, time spent with each other and some very New-York experiences. In this post I want to write about a very nice cafe where we had brunch and coffee (coffee for me, I cannot live and even talk in the morning without my coffee joint), this cafe was perfect for us:- it has outdoor tables- very good coffee (my favorite is the cafe au lait)- wonderful bagels- salads and omelettes, must have for a brunch- pricing is reasonable- and it's recommended by ZagatI just didn't like their cookies, not baked enough for me too much dough like.Effy's CafeAmerican, Mediterranean Style1638 3rd avenue(between 91st & 92nd )

"Had I been" an owl, I wouldn't be feeling sleepy today. Hmmmm... Crazy phrase.
A friend and I stayed in starbucks from about 12 midnight 'til 1:30+am just talking about anything and everything - including that "had it been" phrase that his review facilitator just looooves using while enjoying our blueberry cheesecake, tall cafe mocha, and a tall cappuccino; now I'm feeling sleepy. Hehehe.
I met up with the United Steel Workers of Montreal. We talked about movies. They were at an event called the Canadian Music Café. It's put on for delegates of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) - movie producers and the like. Five groups put it all together: the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers (SOCAN); the Canadian Independent Record Production Association (CIRPA), the Canadian Music Publishers Association (CMPA); and the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) along with TIFF. Their goal is to get Canadian new music into the movies. The event's coordinator, Chris Teeter, explained that a call is put out to members of the four organizations. They're invited to submit applications, and then fifteen applicants are invited to perform at the Rivoli on Queen Street in Toronto. The United Steel Workers of Montreal were selected to take part in the Café this year, and we had a quick chat about movies, music and money. The Café is over, but th
Ingredientes:
Café 2 dosis
Nata semimontada 4 cl
Leche condensada 1 cl

Watching Fried Green Tomatoes again has made me realize what a wonderful film it is. Even though I could remember the twist at the end, I could not remember all the twists in between. It's simply a wonderfully told and beautifully acted story. Well, two stories, actually.Level one is set in present-day Alabama. Evelyn (Kathy Bates) goes with her husband, Ed (Gailard Sartain), to visit a sick elderly aunt in a nursery home. In the visitors' room she gets chatting to a chirpy octogenarian, Ninny (Jessica Tandy), who tells her stories about the people she used to know between the wars in Whistle Stop, an abandoned small town beside the railroad. Evelyn confides with Ninny about her marriage problems (Ed is more interested in watching sports on TV than spending quality time with her), her obesity (she eats a dozen candy bars a day), and her slide towards old age through the menopause. Ninny's stories and friendship give her a reason to live and the spirit to make her life better (hormones

Opened in February this year, J-Trend In Love is a bona fide “maid café”, imported straight from Japan (from Tokyo’s famous Akihabara district, to be exact). Owned by a Japanese expat, the cutesy café can be found in Time Square (around Asoke, Sukhumvit 21).
The Thais have always enjoyed reading Japanese comic books (“Doraemon” is an all-time favorite, and now there are countless Japanese comics translated into Thai – “Naruto”, “One Piece” and “Bleach” just to name a few), following Japanese anime series on TV (there was the ancient “Saint Seiya” on TV about a million years ago, as well as Kenshiro, “Dragonball” and “Dragonball Z”) and watching Japanese movies (“Death Note”, “Nada Sou Sou”, “Hula Girls” and let’s not forget that “Nana” and “Nana 2” took Bangkok by the storm a few months ago).
So I guess it was just a matter of time (and a bit of sugar and spice plus copious amounts of pink) that “maid café” would soon
You'd think that Cafe Fiorello Cafe Fiorello would be a tourist trap since it's across from Lincoln Center, but it's actually got great food. After attending the last night of Midsummer Night Swing, we headed over for dinner. The table of 5 shared 2 appetizers. The prosciutto with melon was delicious. Fresh melon, expertly sliced meat, and a surprise dab of marscapone. What a nice touch! The salad of poached pears, sugared pecans, and fried goat cheese was fantastic. The blackberry dressing was unique and wonderful. Sadly, this item is a special and not available on their regular menu. Most of us ordered pizzas, which are super thin with quality ingredients. Lon had their signature lasagna. It looks like a lasagna pastry with 3 meatballs on top. It's yummy! My only regret is not coordinating to order a wider variety of foods. They have an amazing display of antipastos in front. I stared on my way out wishing I could have some.I went to Cafe Fiorello years ago with my family and it wa
From the outside looking in, Le Rendez-Vous Cafe Le Rendez-Vous Cafelooks like a pizza joint with a bar on the side. When you get to the back, it turns into a Middle Eastern theme. The menu includes a mix of Italian (wierd) and Middle Eastern foods and Hookah. The 5 of us decided to split 3 appetizers. The hummus tasted like tahini with very little chickpea. The Babaganoush did not look or taste like Babaganoush and that's because it had large chunks of onions and peppers in it. The tabouli didn't actually have any bulgur (a primary ingredient) in it. The pita was dry, crappy pita.As main courses, we all got platters of either chicken, beef, shawarma, or lamb kebabs. They all come on top of rice that tastes like Uncle Ben's and a large salad with Italian dressing from a bottle. The salad is fresh though. As for the meat, I can only speak for my chicken and Lon's Shawarma. My chicken was so over-cooked, burnt, dry, and almost inedible. Lon's shawarma didn't taste like anything. Lon
Recently I commented on how Susie's is the worst deli, and so my hunt continued for a half decent deli in Murray Hill. After trying quite a few, I stumbled upon a new cafe, that opened next to Artisanal called Silo Cafe Silo Cafe. Silo is more than just half-decent, it's wonderful. In addition to being modern and clean inside, Silo features various deli and cafe foods, but seems to do them all well. They have a hot sandwich and grill area, pizza, cold salad bar, hot buffet, custom salad, custom pasta, deli sandwich area, pre-made and custom sushi, and more. There is a large seating available and the entire space just feels open and inviting. For my first visit, I selected their hot sandwich special of the day, a Philly Cheese Steak. The seemingly simple sandwich is actually more difficult to prepare correctly than it seems. The grill cook took his time and used thin sliced steak and plenty of mixed bell peppers and onions. He conscientiously asked me what type of cheese I wanted-- an

Another great mom-and-pop establishment: Cafe Marc Aurel. It always amazes me how this restaurant oozes with atmosphere, an unexpected oasis on Market Street. The instant you walk into the door, you are transformed into a European/bohemian cafe vibe where tables are set close to one another, promoting a sense of community and spurring conversation and relaxation. We stayed at the Kinabuhayan Cafe for our weekend getaway (not to be mistaken with Kinabuhayan, which is a different place altogether. The former is a bed and breakfast estblishment, while the latter is a jump-off point to a trek in Mt. Banahaw). The facade looks unassuming enough; cemented but with an open-air atmosphere. But once you enter the premises, you find yourself in open spaces.

I mean that in a nice way. A few days back, my wife's friend Roby gave her a present - a coffee making set along with some coffee. So now, no more Nescafe from now on. In fact, no more instant coffee of any kind. As my wife says, "this is real coffee". It was really interesting to watch her make the coffee - the Italian way. I say real, because the Italians invented expresso.Where previously, we just had to add coffee power to hot water and add milk and sugar, now it is an elaborate ritual of packing the coffee power in, adding the water and then heating it up in that espresso machine. The boiling water is pushed up through finely ground coffee by pressure, thus extracting its full flavour. She then creates some frothy milk in what else, the Frother. The frothy milk is first poured into the cup followed by the concentrated coffee. There you have it - delicious espresso cappuccino. Of course, we are amateurs. I know some coffee fanatics even buy a thermometer and grind their own bean
