There are few things in life I cherish more than fresh local food with good people and great conversation. It’s in part what has lead me around the world and into your backyard, that magic that is tableside whenever you sit down with others to stuff your maw. So imagine what might happen when that food isn’t quite so fresh and isn’t quite so local. To settle a recent score in the burger world between friends, I needed to find the best hamburger around. The idea was simple. Find the best expression of a burger in the Seattle area. I needed four idealistic panelists as zealous and discriminating about ground meat on a bun as I was. Passionate and opinionated, stubborn and outspoken. Under considering were 14* local hamburger joints (no chains) in the greater Puget Sound area. The burger would be judged independent of price. The rules were simple. One regular unmodified menu cheeseburger would be tasted by all four judges, ordered medium if asked, and given marks in five simple cate

Now I love Adam Scott - he is an Aussie and when on song he is a very good golfer, but Tiger Woods' former coach Butch Harmon has come out today with a very surprising prediction:Tiger Woods's former coach Butch Harmon believes Australian Adam Scott is the only young player capable of giving the American a run for his money at the top of the world rankings."Adam Scott is the best player under 30 in the world by far," Harmon said of his protege."You may get an argument for Luke Donald or Sergio Garcia but I just think Adam Scott is above them. He's a truly great talent."He is the only one who can challenge Tiger Woods in the next four or five years."He's the only one I see of the young players with all the things it takes to get close to Tiger Woods," Harmon told Sky Television's Golf Night program.World number five Scott showed his class last month when he fired a record final round of 11-under-par 61 to romp to a three-shot victory in the European

By Anthony Boadle HAVANA (Reuters) - Cuban university students, in a rare public challenge to authorities, openly criticized government restrictions on access to the Internet, hotels and travel abroad. Their criticism in a video circulated this week comes as more Cubans begin to speak out about the shortcomings of Cuba's socialist system, a debate encouraged by acting President Raul Castro since taking over from his ailing brother Fidel Castro in 2006. In the 52-minute video, students at the University of Information Sciences demanded explanations from National Assembly president Ricardo Alarcon on a series of issues. The Jan. 19 town-hall style meeting was shown over the closed-circuit television system of the 10,000-student university built on the site of a former Soviet electronic listening post on the outskirts of Havana. The video has since been circulated secretly on computer memory cards, although it has not been seen by most Cubans. "Why can't the people of Cuba g

Eighteen months after launching its first digital SLR system, Sony says it is preparing to take on Canon and Nikon with a pro camera. The as-yet unnamed Alpha camera will feature a 24.6 million pixel full-frame CMOS image sensor, dubbed 'Exmor', designed by Sony and fitted with its Super SteadyShot technology.A prototype of the camera was officially presented at last week's PMA show in Las Vegas, and is expected in UK stores by the end of the year, possibly making its debut at the Photokina trade show in Cologne this autumn. To complement the new flagship camera, Sony is also developing an optional vertical grip and a pro flash gun.A day prior to the announcement, Sony has sent out a briefing about a new 35mm full-size CMOS sensor with 24.81 effective million pixels, and a high signal conversion speed. The sensor utilises Sony's column-parallel A/D conversion technology, which provides each column within the sensor with its own A/D converter, effectively reducing image degradation during
Hi all, Well I've submitted my site to about 10 more directories. This is hopefully going to help me out a little. I've tried to submit to page rank 4 or better sites. For those of you who don't know about this kind of thing it goes like this: Backlinks (that is your link on someone else's site) are sort of considered a vote for your site. The more votes you have the better you get indexed...at least by Google. The other search engines like Alexa, yahoo and msn apparently place less emphasis on links. www.tm4b.com is a page rank 5 site. If you submit your own link there then you've got yourself a pretty high quality back link. Of course, the more relevant your sites are to one another the weightier the link. But even a general site like the one above is worth 5 minutes of your time. If you have 5,000 links coming back to your site it's going to help a lot. Keep in mind some sites have over 100,000 links! Lot's of work to do for sure. Here's one more site page rank 6:Remote PC Acce

I hope it works! What I plan to do today is:Visit a bunch of blogs and leave some posts...good posts too, not just junk. advertise in every free advertising site I can findadd adsense to this blogget at least 10

It is said that competition makes one to be better and Ronaldo has been challenged by Ferguson to score 30 plus goals this season. The Portuguese winger has already scored 23 times in all competitions this campaign for the reigning Premier League champions and heads the top-flight scoring table with 17 goals. The 22-year-old has shown great skill in front of goal despite playing down the wing and could record 30 if his present form continues with United still on course in the league, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.Ronaldo is set to feature in the FA Cup fourth round clash with Tottenham on Sunday and Ferguson believes he has what it takes to reach the hefty target.
Timmy Brister is hosting the 2008 Puritan Reading Challenge. This is a great way to introduce yourself to the Puritans. He has arranged an excellent deal with Reformation Heritage Books on the twelve books he'll be covering this year, and he will be posting discussions on each as he goes. To top this all off, there will also be a lot of extra stuff going on such as giveaways, extra information, and interviews. Here is what Tim says about how the 2008 Puritan Reading Challenge was born.Towards the close of 2007, I began thinking of a way I could challenge myself to grow spiritually through a reading regiment and schedule. While riding home from work one morning, I came up with the idea of reading one Puritan Paperback a month, along with incorporating the Valley of Vision in my devotional meditations and prayers. I shared my personal challenge publicly, not thinking much about it. To my surprise, this Puritan reading challenge has resonated with more people than I could have ever im

The New York Red Bulls today officially introduced their new head coach Juan Carlos Osorio at a press conference in New York's Hotel Gansevoort. The now ex-coach of the Chicago Fire seemed genuinely happy to be here and presented himself as ready to roll up his sleeves and get to work. "It is without a doubt one of the proudest moments for me, to be back in New York," Osorio said. "The magnitude of the challenge is intense...but I can promise all of my efforts."A good deal of the press conference centered on what had transpired between the Fire and Red Bulls and internally at Chicago for the deal to happen. Osorio only spent a few months with Chicago and was under contract through next season (if not longer. Not sure of the specifics). Red Bulls Managing Director Mark de Grandpre said he first contacted Chicago President John Guppy about Osorio in November and was initially rebuffed. Osorio, determined to at least interview with de Grandpre, sought out Guppy himself. "I told him I wan

Dang, I have to admit it was tough getting out of bed yesterday and this morning. My mattress had a pretty good hold on me. I finally decided yesterday that I was going to get my butt back into shape like I was a couple of years ago when I competed in a couple of bodybuilding competitions. For the next 90 days, I have decided that I am going to 'Just Do It.' I am going lose weight and inches off my waist. I have attempted a couple of times over the last year to lose weight and drop a couple of inches off my waist but I always seem to self-sabotage myself. You know, I'll start exercising and eating healthy then before I know it I am back to my old ways. It's almost as if something in the background (subconcious) is totally pulling me down. TIGER Woods shrugged off three bogeys and an early challenge by Jim Furyk to win the Target World Challenge by seven shots. Six ahead of the pack overnight, the world No.1 fired a four-under-par 68 at Sherwood Country Club to claim his eighth victory of the year in the elite 16-man tournament he hosts. Woods, who stretched his lead to seven strokes after two holes before it was trimmed to two by playing partner Furyk over a cut-and-thrust outward nine, posted a 22-under total of 266. World No.3 Furyk, who piled the pressure on Woods with five birdies in the first eight holes, double-bogeyed the par-three 15th on his way to a 71 and third place at 13 under, two behind Masters champion Zach Johnson (68). Tiger Woods, hunting his eighth victory of the year, overcame two early bogeys to stretch his lead to six shots in the Target World Challenge third round on Saturday. Four ahead of the pack overnight, the world number one fired a five-under-par 67 at Sherwood Country Club for an 18-under total of 198. Although not matching his blistering form of Friday when he set a course-record 62, he carded seven birdies in pursuit of his fourth title in the tournament he hosts. Playing partner Jim Furyk, three off the pace for much of the day, slipped back with a double-bogey at the par-three 15th on his way to a 69 and second place. Masters champion Zach Johnson also carded a 69 to lie third at 11 under, one ahead of Swede Henrik Stenson who fired a best-of-the-day 65...Read the complete golf news article
Tiger Woods has shrugged off any hint of rust after a two-and-a-half month break to charge four shots clear in the Target World Challenge second round. Hunting his eighth victory of the year, the world number one fired a sparkling 10-under-par 62 to equal the course record at Sherwood Country Club. That gave Woods a 13-under total of 131 and ideally placed to win his fourth title in the elite 16-man tournament which he has hosted since 2000. "I hit some good shots but I made some bombs out there," Woods told reporters after holing an eight-foot birdie putt at the last. "The only difference today was I made some good putts," he added, referring to his double-bogey on the final hole in the opening round. "I didn't throw away a good round like yesterday. I am very pleased with the way I hit the golf ball today." World number three Jim Furyk birdied the last two holes for a 67 to lie second, one ahead of fellow American Zach Johnson who also carded a 67. British Open champion Padrai
The Target World Challenge is upon us this week and not too many will be betting against Tiger to take out his 8th title of the year. In an interview this week Tiger said that he has been working on his fitness and is eager to return to golf, which is a dangerous sign for the 15 other players!I love this tournement because proceeds from the event go to Tiger Woods Foundation projects and the Tiger Woods Learning Centre in Anaheim. However, it is a pity that this tournament clashes with the Australian Open so no Aussies will be having a crack at the title, but it should be a great tournament anyway. The field for the tournament it: Woods, Furyk, Steve Stricker, Harrington, Vijay Singh, Johnson, Luke Donald, Rory Sabbatini, Henrik Stenson, Niclas Fasth, Paul Casey, Lee Westwood, Brett Wetterich, Mark Calcavecchia, Colin Montgomerie and Fred Couples.Prize MoneyFirst prize of $1.35 million. The overall purse is $5.75 millionMy TipOne word - Tiger!

England's Justin Rose faltered at the death as South African Trevor Immelman pipped him by one stroke to win the Sun City Challenge at the Gary Player Country Club on Sunday. Rose and Immelman arrived at the 18th hole tied on 18 under par but the Englishman pulled his drive way left and could only chip his second shot sideways. It was a telling mistake as Immelman could afford to overshoot the green with his approach shot. He then mishit his first chip shot, moving the ball forward only about two feet.se was unable to come up with a third shot to capitalise, however, landing up in the grandstand behind the green. Even though he was offered relief with a free drop, Rose could not make a 12-foot putt for bogey and his ball curled away from the hole. Immelman then sank a three-foot putt for bogey after a much better second chip shot to finish on 272 and the trophy was his, returning to South Africa for the first time since Retief Goosen won in 2004....Read full golf news story

When the Big 10-ACC Challenge rolls around every fall, the following film comes to mind.In case you need a frame of reference...Godzilla = ACCBambi = Big 10I'm as big of a Big 10 apologist as anyone, you all know I'm an unabashed Big 10 fan. But even I can see that the ACC outclasses, out plays, out talents, out coaches, and is just outright better than the Big 10 during the "Challenge." That's going to be true 9 years out of 10, probably 10 out of 10. The Big 10 will always have a few teams that would compete, and win, in the ACC, but the Big 10 bottom feeders are guaranteed to get their asses kicked during what has turned into an annual nationally televised ass kicking fest.Wikipedia has the ugly overall breakdown of the Big10-ACC Challenge, season by season, team by team, and it isn't pretty. The ACC is 8-0, and is well on it's way to making it 9-0, after going 5-1 so far in 2007. With 5 games left tonight, the Big 10 will be lucky to win 2 of the games. Some seasons the Big 10 has
