The Wolverines have had their radio silence broken, as word has come out of New Jersey tonight that Rutgers' head coach Greg Schiano has interviewed for the Michigan job.Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano met with Michigan athletic director Bill Martin "for quite a while" to discuss the Big Ten school's coaching vacancy during the annual College Football Hall of Fame Banquet in New York City on Tuesday, according to a person who speaks regularly with Schiano.Though no official offer has been made, according to the person, one could be forthcoming. Finally, someone you can consider as a LEGIT candidate. Not a pipe dream like an Urban Meyer or Bob Stoops, not just a courtesy interview that were the talks with twin clueless coordinators Mike DeBord and Ron English, and not an utter joke like Brady Hoke. For that matter, Schiano's not a "Michigan Man," ala the early favorite, Les Miles. That's a good thing for such an in-bred program. For an excellent profile of the Rutgers coach, read MGoBlog
So, here is what we know:
Bo Pelini has already interviewed.
Turner Gill will interview shortly (or did today).
All other candidates are complete speculation (Jim Grobe, Brian Kelly, Guy from Boise State [there is no need to look up his name]).
Tom Osborne will pick the right person.
We'll probably know before the end of the week, which will give the new coach a chance to get some recruiting
The series of tubes that is the internets has it's first Michigan head coaching rumor. The rumored candidate is...Iowa's Kirk Ferentz?Excuse me for a moment, while I'm totally underwhelmed.......I'm back from being underwhelmed. To be honest, I really don't know how seriously to take this rumor. At face value, I can see the interest in Ferentz...If it was 2003. You think Michigan can do better than someone who's currently underachieving at Iowa? I do.I'm sure this is going to be the first of many rumors that will have Michigan fans scrambling all over the web, making asses of themselves on message boards and blogs, trying to find every and all nuggets that pertain to the Wolverines coaching job. Today, the rumor du jour is Ferentz. Friday, it could be Jeff Tedford at Cal. Over the weekend? God forbid, as there would be riots all across the great state of Michigan, it's the twin terror coordinators, Ron English and Mike Debord.Next week? Monday it could be the Man Mountain at Kansas, Ma

Forget everything else.Fulmer WASTED our 2nd timeout to "ice" the USC kicker. There has never been any conclusive evidence that "icing" a kicker has ever really affected them in kicking a field goal.We now have a little over 1 minute to score at least a field goal. And now we have only 1 time out. Traditionally that time out is used to set up the field goal at the last second. If we run out of time getting downfield into FG range because Fulmer wasted that timeout.........................
As I look back on Florida's last two losses, I am starting to question part of Urban Meyer's coaching. I am astounded at his time management after losing two weeks ago to Auburn and LSU on Saturday.Against Auburn, Florida had one timeout left as the Tigers had the ball around the Gators 35, with around 50 seconds left; Urban Meyer let the clock run all the way down to 3 seconds instead of taking the timeout and having Auburn kick the field goal with about 30 seconds left. I mean, if Auburn makes the field goal, why not give your team a chance to go down and either tie it or win it with about 25 seconds left? Better to have your own teams fate lying in your own hands, instead of the other teams.Again, Saturday night Urban Meyer did just about the same thing vs. LSU. After a running play on 2nd down, LSU had the ball with about 1:40 left to play, Meyer let the clock run all the way down to about 1:10 instead of taking the timeout right after the play. LSU punched in the eventual winning

The 2 BIG reasons are parked on the tarmac right in front of his house!
I think that is testament enough for you to knock on his door and ask how the Internet paid for his lifestyle.

To be clear, like every other sane Boston fan I believe Doc Rivers is a horrible head coach.
Doc knows jack about defense. During last year’s season, the Celtics often looked like a high school team. They couldn’t stop anybody. Nevertheless, my most intense criticism of Doc centers around his development of young players and his [...]

I subscribe to the idea of lifelong learning. Education doesn't have to end with school or after a degree. Actually I have realized that besides renewing what I already know, I need to take classes to keep myself up to date with the new skills and knowledge to enable me to achieve my personal goals.I recall that I was in awe of a friend during my MBA. He was a medical doctor who joined the corporate sector and had become the managing director of a group of companies and I wondered why he needed to get an MBA. Later during one of our courses, I learnt of Maslow's 'Hierarchy of needs' and how we move towards self-actualization after we have satisfied our other needs starting with the physiological needs. There are various educations institutions providing executive-level coaching for individuals and one of the leaders is Prosper, Inc.
