  • Correct your system hang at startup
If your system hangs about 2 or 3 minutes at startup, where you can't access the Start button or the Taskbar, it may be due to one specific service (Background Intelligent Transfer) running in the background. Microsoft put out a patch for this but it didn't work for me. Here's what you do: * Click on Start/Run, type 'msconfig', then click 'OK'. * Go to the 'Services' tab, find the 'Background Intelligent Transfer' service. * Disable it, apply the changes & reboot. • A Correct But Painful Strategy
This Yahoo News story tells us...JERUSALEM - President Bush had tears in his eyes during an hour-long tour of Israel's Holocaust memorial Friday and told Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that the U.S. should have bombed Auschwitz to halt the killing, the memorial's chairman said.Bush emerged from a tour of the Yad Vashem memorial calling it a "sobering reminder" that evil must be resisted, and praising victims for not losing their faith.Wearing a yarmulke, Bush placed a red-white-and-blue wreath on a stone slab that covers ashes of Holocaust victims taken from six extermination camps. He also lit a torch memorializing the victims.Bush was visibly moved as he toured the site, said Yad Vashem's chairman, Avner Shalev."Twice, I saw tears well up in his eyes," Shalev said.At one point, Bush viewed aerial photos of the Auschwitz camp taken during the war by U.S. forces and called Rice over to discuss why the American government had decided against bombing the site (during World War II),
  • Politically correct 'non-jobs' cost Brit taxpayers £600m annually!
A new study has revealed that about 600 million pounds of taxpayer's money were spent on nondescript jobs in Britain last year. Based on an analysis of job advertisements in the Guardian's pages, it was reckoned that a large amount of money was spent to promote posts like community empowerment officer and NHS human rights worker. The study found vastly inflated salaries on offer, with some executives earning more than 200,000 pounds annually. The average full-time position on offer in the Guardian's pages was 38,508 pounds, which is 7000 pounds more than in the private sector. The study also found that most of the jobs had a lucrative range of perquisites such as car allowances, gold-plated pensions, and generous holidays. "Each non-job representing bureaucratic, PC council overstaffing is taxpayers' money diverted from essential services," the Sun quoted Mark Wallace, of the Taxpayers' Alliance, which conducted the study, as saying. The top ten non-jobs were: 1. Head of

  • No Time To Be Politically-Correct
When events cause someone to rethink their political beliefs, it can be a sobering process. Part of you is so entrenched that you are almost self-apologetic. All of my life I have been a moderate in terms of social issues. In the 1980's, I was part of a letter writing campaign and subsequent public march protesting the Apartheid policy in South Africa. I stood on the side of equality when it came to minority rights in Canada. I was even in favour of the immigration policies throughout that decade and into the 1990's and beyond. Now, I find myself forced to rethink my pro-libertarian stance. And that ain't easy.It has become blatantly obvious that the open door policy that many of the Western nations have had regarding immigration, along with the poisonous injection of political correctness into our culture (especially in Canada) has left us almost completely vulnerable and flat-footed against the new and vicious threat to our freedom. The New World War isn't being fought in some far-off

  • Hormonally Correct Eating - Q and A
One of my Sunrider clients and I were talking on the phone the other day. I told her about the Hormonally Correct Eating program I was now following and trying out. We talked about what people consider "eating good" or "eating clean" because people will tell me by email that they're "eating clean" or "I eat well". I still don't know what "eating clean" means to people. To a Vegetarian: Eating Clean might mean eating no animal products, but would include rice cakes for example. Rice cakes might be clean, but it's most certainly not "Eating Well". Rice cakes are one of the worst things you could put in your body. If you have any in your cupboards, throw them out.To a Bodybuilder: Eating Clean would most probably mean low starchy carbohydrates, higher protein and fat meals, no pizza, no beer.To the Average Joe: Eating Clean might mean that they don't eat red meat, but do eat Chicken. It might mean "don't drink Soda Pop" but "do drink beer". It might mean they've cut the fat
  • Lean projects, lean leaders and getting priorities correct
Lean manufacturing implementation is a project and has to be managed very carefully to get the best results out of it. One of the most important activities of any project is identification and prioritizing the activities of that project. One of the basic mistakes people do when it comes to lean implementations is rushing in the initial phases of the project and setting up unrealistic timelines and goals. People want to show instant results and convince the top managers and stakeholders. But they forget that the time spent on the drawing board is very important to the success of the project.Every move in lean must be carefully planned. All the plans must be instrumented with required resources before the actual implementation. Plans must be communicated effectively to every levels of the organization. Everyone in the organization must know what their responsibility in the process is and especially why they do it. If this has not happened effectively, the project will not go far. Lean lea
