FotoNation announces the new "ChromaFix" one-step chromatic aberration correction technology. An example of these chromatic aberrations is the occurrence of purple fringes around the high contrast edges in a photo, which is the result of a misalignment of the red, green and blue wave-lengths of light during focusing. ChromaFix brings advanced image processing technology [...]

The “ideal” view in USDJPY for over the last month continues to unfold as the market did indeed weaken sharply back below the Aug low at 111.65. Currently, the market is consolidating from yesterday’s low at 109.10 but with the downside pattern not complete, no major bottom is seen as in place. Near term, there is [...]

Well, unfortunately August was a month prone to minuscule, but annoying, mistakes here at the Soul of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the form of ridiculous typo’s, technical problems and other things that I’d rather had not happened, probably brought on by stress, lack of sleep and being overworked. Still, I was hoping that [...]
Paul Katzeff The sell-off hurts. The S&P 500 was off about 7% from its July 19 intraday high through Monday's close. That leaves the big-cap index up a scant 1.92% for the entire year.So we're in a wrenching correction. The sparks for this conflagration are the credit crunch and fallout from the subprime meltdown. Many investors have been wondering if they should bail out of the market -- before their accounts dwindle further. Should they go to cash? The question is especially urgent for people near retirement. The trouble with exiting is that the medicine is often worse than the ailment.People don't get back into the market in time. As a result, they miss the start of the next rally. That means they lose a big chunk of gains."If you're getting hurt by this downturn, it means you weren't able to foresee the sell-off," said Stuart Ritter, a financial planner at T. Rowe Price. "What makes you think you'd be any better at foreseeing the start of the next rally?"In fact, growth you miss out on
The market is in a correction, so it's more important than ever to review CAN SLIM sell rules. Most of those involve specific chart action, which has sprouted in recent weeks among many high-rated stocks -- even before Thursday's meltdown.Let's review how daily and weekly charts help investors decide when it's time to dump a position.High-volume selling. Watch out for increases in volume without increases in price, or declines in heavy trading. Closing at or near day's lows. This is a sign of weakness, showing that buyers could not prevail over sellers. Stocks that reverse lower from highs, giving up earlier gains, are another form of this flagging action. Palomar Medical peaked in exactly this way (point 1). A single day of this type of weakness may not be worrisome, but a string of such days certainly bears watching.New highs on low volume. This suggests institutional investors have lost their interest in the stock. The trend can show up on daily or weekly charts.Climax tops. If
Since I just did my last net worth update at the end of June I'm in a nice spot to have a good look at what the world wide market correction did last week to my holdings. So using my RRSP account as a model I had a value at the end June of $12,800.The account current market value today is $13,200 with a book value of $13,300. I did recently add some money to this account in the last month. So overall I lost all my yearly profit and $100 of my own money during the correction. So I would estimate I'm down around $500 at the most or 3.8% in this account. So given all the media coverage of the event and the coverage in various blogs you would think this correction was a bit bigger. Yet this is the reason you diversify your portfolio. So if the markets tank they will be hard pressed to take you portfolio too far down.Overall my net worth change I would bet would be less than 2%. So next time they tell you the 'sky is falling' do try to keep the long view.

I checked on the sales again today and it looks a decent surge has put it on track for last years levels or very close to it. Buyer activity remains strong. I still see a dip in pricing. dip being defined as less than 5%. Time will tell ;) But many tell me i'm wrong. Long term looks good short term less certain.
