  • Cosmic Perturber?
Does our sun have a sister star? In his 2005 book Lost Star of Myth and Time, author and amateur archaeo-astronomer Walter Cruttenden pushed the envelope of accepted astronomy when he theorized that our own Earth is part of a binary star system. Cruttenden’s video based on that book, The Great Year, narrated by James Earl Jones, is an excellent summation of this theory. As Executive Director of the Binary Research Institute, Cruttenden continues to research “evidence of astronomical cycles of time known to cultures throughout the ancient world. It is Cruttenden’s belief that the myth and stories depicting a repeating cycle of Golden Ages and Dark Ages may have a basis in fact, due to the alternating stellar forces that affect Earth as our solar system moves in a 24,000-year binary (dual star) orbit.” The Great Year references the 24,000-26,000 year cycle of time during which our solar system completes its precession through the equinoxes. Generally considered to be more im
