Haven't been around lately. Been a little under the weather. I'm sure you're adjusting a little bit to the flu season too.
Anyway, I'm taking a poll right now asking What's the Biggest Problem With Your Guitar Playing? It appears a ton of guitarists consider not knowing music theory their biggest problem. So I wrote this little introduction to/crash course in basic useful theory.

The Major Scale
Scales are how we understand the guitar.
The Major Scale is the scale all players should learn, the Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do scale. The Major Scale has 7 notes, with each note referred to as a "degree."
For instance:
The C Major Scale is made up of C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and C again. The first degree is C, the second D, and so on.
The G Major Scale is comprised of G, A, B, C, D, E, F#, and G again. The first degree is G, the second A, and so on.
