Yesterday's 3AM column (welcome to the always-on internet world, Trinity Mirror) carried a dread threat that the Spice Girls might reunite for one last time, to mark Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday. As if the poor man hasn't seen enough suffering and conflict in his lifetime.A source tells us: "Nelson is desperate for them to perform one last time - and he's confident it will happen. He first met the Spices in 1997 and called them his 'heroes', so he has deep admiration for them."To be honest, we suspect he was being polite when he said they were his heroes. There's every chance he might hold one or two other people in higher esteem.

3AM elects to use its firepower on the Grammys today, although, unfortunately, nothing much had happened by 3AM UK time. Whitney Houston said that Leona Lewis was a "baby me", which excited Lewis:Leona squealed: "I can't believe Whitney knows who I am."To be honest, we can't believe that Whitney still knows who Whitney Houston is these days. The team attempt to uncover diva-ish behaviour backstage, but the best they can come up with is Beyonce asking organisers to make sure her toilet is clean.Oddly, though, there's a piece on the Mirror site about the BAFTAs, with a byline from one of the 3AM Girls and a chum, but it's not branded as 3AM. They, too, feel that someone other than a person they like winning a prize is a snub, but at least they're more generous to Marion Cotillard, who is upgraded from "unknown" to "little-known". We're interpreting that as someone having had the good grace to check IMDB before filing the report.
Just thought I'd let you all know I have a review of Darkness of the God by Amber Hayward here. Check it out!(Don't click the read more, there isn't any more after this!)
A new sign of life from Wales - John and Paul Healy, well-known as Somatic Responses produced a new fulltime masterpiece of electronic sound wizzardry. Almost two years have passed since "Giauzar" and it seems the brothers have used their time not only for the explorations of new tonal and atonal soundscapes, but also for a re-analysis of their roots. The "Digital Darkness" described here is a
Obviously, if The Sun isn't going to leave Winehouse alone, neither is the Mirror. The trouble is, with Smart's lot discovering that Winehouse (apparently) was rushed to a proper hospital on Wednesday night, 3AM's giggling tale of Winehouse eating ice lollies looks a little weak. We half expected to see a story announcing that Britney Spears has taken up sketching, but... no, the rest of this "toxic" column doesn't actually get close to that sort of story. Kate Moss has night out and stays up late! Pregnant woman looks pregnant! Is this all you've got?The new team struggle to find something to say about Ashley Cole-Cheryl Tweedy, and so ask Louise what used to be in Eternal. On the basis that, erm, she's also married to a footballer. Louise offers nothing approaching advice:"I can't judge anyone's relationship but Cheryl needs to follow her heart. I've been married now for 10 years and, you know, sometimes I want to kill him."So... is Louise saying that she herself should "follow her h
Day four of the new management at 3AM, and it looks like they've already run into the ground: today, they're running with Alfie Allen's public hair.Yes, the-brother-of-the-daughter-of-the-bloke-from-the-mouthwash-advert. Apparently he's had to have his pubes trimmed before going onstage in Equus.Yes, that's their lead story. They also have a pop stars get drunk shocka - the Arctic Monkeys, in this case. They attempt to make the story interesting by injecting a not-very-subtle drugs reference:Jaime [Winston, who turned up] clearly had quite a thirst as she kept shouting for her Coke.Do you get... oh, you do.More surprisingly, they manage to get the Natasha Bedingfield story completely wrong:All that attention in the States must have gone to Natasha Bedingfield's head 'cos she seems to have forgotten where she comes from. The toothy singer has cracked America by being the first UK-signed female to enter the Billboard album charts at number three. And her next single is being released in th
As if ripped from the headlines, the world watches as a comet looms over the earth for days. The masses were told there is nothing to worry about. Mike Huckabee is so obsessed with his Southern Baptist vision of righteousness that he's unwilling to attend to the business that government is supposed to attend to - providing services for the general welfare. The last thing America needs is another president who will take America on rambling, incoherent crusades while leaving practical matters to moulder.
This week I have been pulled into an unsettling spiral that set me to thinking about darkness and death even in this season of joy and franticness. Despite the piles of Christmas cards and the antics of a kitten discovering his first box of wrapping paper supplies, I felt oddly bereft and adrift. [...]

"We conducted a spectacularly unscientific comparison of four DSLRs - a Nikon D80 with no IS; a Canon 40D and a Panasonic L10 with in-lens IS and an Olympus E-3 with in-body IS. Each was fitted with its kit lens. We were looking at image sharpness, colour and noise. We set up an object under a single incandescent lamp and set all cameras to ISO1600 and set the same manual exposure on all.We hand-held each camera at 115 second at f8 with the zoom at 70 mm focal length (film equivalent) and framed all shots the same. What we discovered, for the little that it's worth, is that the Panasonic is the sharpest but also the noisiest - the penalty of the smaller sensor. The Olympus, with similar sensor but different image processor, is sharp and exhibits well controlled noise. The Canon is astonishingly free of noise and just about as sharp. The Nikon has the most accurate colour and is almost as noise-free as the Canon but it falls short on sharpness, suggesting image stabilisation matters. Wit
?'? ????? ???"?Yesterday, before I went to the store from which I returned to encounter the deer as decribed in earlier entries today, I had purchased some red ochre for craftworking. I had just "happend upon" the pigment, and had not gone looking to buy any. I bought it on a gut impulse that it could be useful for my magic-making. So, after purchasing it online, I went to the store for a 15-watt lightbulb. ??Interestingly, the first color one sees when emerging from blindness or darkness is the color red. The first examples of human art were made with red ochre. The prehistoric art shown here is of a red ochre deer cave painting (thought by scholars to have been created during the Megathilic Period).
The stay in Paris started with a day off. We got in around lunch time and since our hotel booking had fucked up, we were stranded on Moulin Rogue for a while. We finally got ahold of some rooms at the Holiday Inn, checked in and went for dinner down the street. Bison, sirloins and beef steaks was on the menu, but a slight tartar-ish looking burger, which our drummer ate, sent chills down the spine reminding us that it doesn't take much to get food poisoning, even in a "safe" country like France. Seemed like pretty much everyone was in the mood for a quiet night in and no hell raising was to be seen or heard anywhere later on post dinner. Instead of trashing hotel rooms, this time we saved our money and went to bed early, the latter being the smarter move of the two. It's great to have the opportunity to sleep in a nice bed once in a while when you're on a long tour, so anytime the chance comes along it's very much appreciated.Read the complete blog here

Two deaths at the New Jersey Ozzfest date, both apparently caused by a combination of the heat and substance abuse:Police are investigating the deaths of the pair, identified as Raymond Guarino, 26, of Forked River and Patrick Norris, 24, of Coram, N.Y.After possibly taking drugs and alcohol, both passed out in separate incidents at the concert, went into cardiac arrest and later died. State police said the men were believed to have ingested cocaine, marijuana and alcohol before their deaths, and troopers who searched Guarino's vehicle found small amounts of both drugs.Although both of the fatalities were adults, 59 of the 83 who were arrested were charged with underage drinking. Other charges included distribution of drugs, lewd behavior and providing alcohol to a minor. So, it's clear what the Ozzy fans did with the cash they saved by not having to pay to get in, then.
The Darkness is a remarkable action game that tells a compelling story from start to finish. The good Amazing voice work and dialogue set the mood right out of the gate Stunning graphics, both technically and artistically Darkness powers are a lot of fun to use again and again Compelling, well-told story Can press a button to devour human hearts. The bad Most of the conventional weapons are useless Enemy reactions and artificial intelligence feel a little too passive at times Multiplayer feels a little tacked-on.sourcehttp://rpc.icerocket.com:10080/
