PS3F reviews Devil May Cry 4Filed under: NewsIt looks like our good friends sworn enemies at PS3 Fanboy managed to snag a copy of Devil May Cry 4 a little early and even had the audacity to post a review of the game. As we are apparently not worthy to receive a copy of our own (please, Capcom!), we figured we'd point out the review for our readers. For the most part, everything in the review should apply to the Xbox 360 version as well. You know, things like good gameplay, great graphics, and wonky camera angles. Those things should pop up on your 360 as well. You should, however, disregard the mishegoss about installing the game onto a hard drive and also the single reference to the O button. Everything else should be copacetic. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the game looks to be pretty damned good.Gallery: Devil May Cry 4 Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments Link - Comments - Richard Mitchell - Tue, 05 Feb 2008 19:00:00 GMT - Feed (2 subs) capcom
In the past year, we’ve had plenty of hands-on time with Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4, but most of that has been in non-linear chunks that haven’t really allowed us to get to grips with the storyline and how newbie Nero gets to replace veteran Dante as the series hero. But we recently got [...]
Devil May Cry 4 to include hard drive install, 5.1 LPCM audio, PSN supportFiled under: News You may not like Capcom for porting the former PS3-exclusive Devil May Cry 4 to the Xbox 360. But, can you take comfort in knowing that the PS3 version is still superior than its 360 counterpart? If you watched this episode of The 1UP Show, you would've heard the 1UP editors agree that the PS3 version looks and plays better than the 360 version. In addition, a new issue of Famitsu reveals some features that are sure to make PS3 owners quite happy. An optional hard drive install will supposedly remove all load times from the game. But, be warned -- it's quite a hefty install at nearly 5GB. Not only will load times be shortened on the PS3, but audiophiles will be glad to hear that the PS3 version also includes 5.1 LPCM audio. There's also support for the PSN, although how exactly it will work is still unclear. Regardless, it makes us glad to see the PS3 version of DMC4 get extra functionality.
The latest addition to the Devil May Cry series. And so the story continues. Long ago the Dark Knight Sparda rebelled against the dark emperor and waged a one-man war to save human kind. Thousands of years later, a religious organization worships this renowned savior and has taken it upon themselves to rid the world of all evil. Residing in Fortuna, this organization is known as the "Order of the Sword", and is made up of an elite group of "Holy Knights". One day a young knight named Nero witnesses Sparda’s legendary son Dante slaughter his fellow warriors. Has Dante turned his back on mankind? What does this encounter mean for these two individuals? In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Devil May Cry 4 producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi has said that the newest installment in the series will be "kinder" to gamers than Devil May Cry 3 might have been. That's not to say that the game will be easy, but just gentler on the newbies.Said Kobayashi, "We had to learn a lesson there, actually, because DMC3 was really difficult. What we found was that people sometimes lost interest within the first two hours because the game just wasn't giving them any chance whatsoever. So DMC4 will be about same difficulty level, but we thought that we would be a little bit kinder to the player, so we're going to give a step-by-step guide on how to use the weapons and skills so that you should naturally progress to a better skill level a little more easily than in DMC3."Kobayashi also went on to say that players needn't be familiar with the series in order to enjoy Devil May Cry 4, and beginning at the end might even encourage them to go back to the earlier

Unfortunately, even with E3 approaching, Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and the DMC team are remaining tight-lipped. However, we’re quite impatient, so we’ve managed to get a number of tidbits that you may not know about the game from Capcom and Kobayashi-san himself. 1.
