  • Old Documents - With Current Relevance
Inspired by reading a News Journal article this morning, about the oldest documents in the State Archives (letters and such of a Swedish settler, also bearing signatures of Governor Printz), I dug into the back of the vault to pull out some of my most favorite reading materials.I have several old books from the colonial period, bearing owner signatures of historical significance. Last year I tried to donate them the the University of Delaware Library because I saw what a nice facility they have for maintaining fragile old documents. But alas, the UD was so awash with its own cumbersome bureaucratic self-important inefficiency, that I could never get a call back from the right department. My favorite read is not my oldest book. It is Principles of Revolution (that's the short title for the actual Title... Principles and Acts of the Revolution in America: or, an attempt to Collect and Preserve Some of the Speeches, Orations, & Proceedings, With Sketches and Remarks on Men and Things,

Comments accepted through Feb. 8.LSCM believes that providing access to the monographs and serials harvested as part of the EPA Pilot Project via the CGP best serves the needs of the depository community and the general public. As can be seen from the sample of 300 publications, making the content from the EPA Pilot Project accessible to the public is a multi-step process and involves the commitment of a significant amount of time. However, as staff become more familiar with the new brief bibliographic record format the time required to create one of these records will decrease. The identification of complete publications, the identification all the parts or issues of a title scattered within the results of the harvest and the d

Daniel Lorello, 54, of Rensselaer, New York, was charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen property and fraud. He pleaded innocent in Albany City Court on Monday. He was found out by an alert history buff who saw the items posted on the online auction site and alerted authorities, the state attorney general's office said in a statement. Lorello, a department of education archivist, pleaded not guilty to the charges although he previously admitted in a written statement to stealing documents and artifacts since 2002. The attorney ge

SAP R3 like other modern day ERPs uses the document principle. The document principle simply means that the R/3 system records atleast one document for every business transaction. In other words, each transaction in SAP R/3 can be traced back to a unique document with the help of a document number. Each document created in SAP R3 system is assigned a unique document number. The document number can assigned by SAP R3 automatically using internal number ranges or users themselves can assign document number using external number ranges. • Portune Alleges Leis Showed Integrity by Turning Over Documents
Yesterday, this Beacon contributor spoke in front of the Hamilton County Commissioners at their meeting and stated that Sheriff Simon Leis, by his use of county money to campaign for the jail tax, was engaged in unethical behavior and requested that the commissioners do something about it.  I also mentioned his threat to sue another critic, as reported in The Cincinnati Enquirer. Mr. Portune said Sheriff Leis believes he has behaved legally and that by turning over documents to the prosecutor the sheriff demonstrated that he is a man of integrity. When I started to ask if that meant that the sheriff would continue to campaign in the manner he has been, Mr. Portune sharply cut me off and said that my two minutes were up.

  • WV Court Seals Med-Mal Documents Against Dr. John Anderson King
Lawyers representing 68 bed Putnam General Hospital in Hurricane, WV, alleged past and future press coverage may bias juries during the upcoming malpractice trials against Dr. John Anderson King, now known as Christopher Wallace Martin. Therefore, the public will no longer be allowed access to new legal documents filed in more than 110  lawsuits against Dr. King according to a report in the Charleston Gazette.    King performed about 500 surgeries as a staff physician at the former Putnam General Hospital (recently renamed CAMC Teays Valley Hospital) between November 2002 and June 2003.  Hospital administrators suspended King after Dr. Edward G. Dawson completed a peer review report commissioned by the hospital. Dawson called King “a snake-oil salesman” and a “criminal.” See Previous Post - Dr. John Anderson King, Meet Christopher Wallace Martin
