Since this blog was created, back in August 2007, there have been written many reviews about various websites, blogs, products and services I've considered them to be useful to you, my readers and visitors. But it've been quite a while since I haven't reviewed a blog of one of my fellow bloggers and friends. This is why today I will present you a blog called The Making Money Experiment, which belongs to Peter Leitsch, better known as Querblogger ( a very friendly and like-minded friend of mine from Germany..the country of Michael Ballack ( for those who are soccer fans :) ).Before going in to more details about his online journal, let's see how our friendship started. For sure, we first met many months ago, in 2007, via LinkReferral ( not only that this is a good traffic source, but you can also make some new friends there too ). Can't remember exactly if Peter reviewed my blog at LR or if I was the first to review his blog, but we soon become friends. And from there on, we've started

The Library of Congress has uploaded two collections of photographs to Flickr and invited people to add tags. The sets are 1930s-40s in Color and News in the 1910s. It will be interesting to see how sucessful the tagging project is.These images have the rights statement "no known copyright restrictions", an experimental rights statement for Flickr. Reaction from Flickr users seems to be extremely positive.
This was emailed to me several years ago. IT is very interesting... It also makes you THINK... Was our universe created by design?By Jim Holt Was our universe created? That is, was it brought into being by an entity with a mind? This is a question I began pondering after my recent inquiry into the end of the universe. (For some reason, cosmic mysteries are best contemplated in pairs.) It is the fundamental issue that separates religious believers, ranging from Deists to Gnostics to Southern Baptists, from nonbelievers. To many atheists, the very idea that our world could have been created by a conscious being seems downright nutty. How could anyone, even a god, "make" a universe? To get a better understanding of this matter, I thought it might be wise to consult the man who has done more than anyone else to explain how our universe got going. His name is Andrei Linde, and he is a physicist at Stanford University. (He's also an artist and an acrobat, but never mind

Last night on the official Google blog, Udi Manber, vice president of engineering, announced that Google is testing a publishing platform called Knol.
It’s being compared to Wikipedia and Mahalo. While it’s a somewhat different take on knowledge collection, these comparisons are apt.
From what we know so far, Knol is [...]
I had meant to tone down the criticism of Steve McClaren after Croatia coach, Steve Bilic, had his two cents about the difficulties in managing a national team. He said: “As a club manager you need a couple of years to make or build a team. In a national team you need three or four [...]
Well, in this post I'll talk about getting traffic to your site or blog, via a low cost method: ImmenseHits.com. You may think why would I waste my money on a traffic resource that it may not send me one single visitor? The answer: I thought to give ImmenseHits a try, since I've never purchased traffic for this blog, from the day I've started it. And, to be honest, not all the advertising methods that you may encounter will turn up to be a good investment for you. Now, let me talk about the website mentioned above..I found ImmenseHits via a Google AdWords ad, on HiStats website, as far as I remember. They were claiming that would send you lots of visitors, for low prices. Of course, many of this sites are just a waste of time and money and they'll never deliver you the promised visitors. And if you will see a slight change in your traffic stats, don't get excited: those may not be real visitors at all ( just crap traffic, generated by automated software or scripts. So basically, you ai

Good (and entertaining) post by Ben Cook from the Blogging Experiment on lessons you can learn about blogging from the television show The Office. One of my favorite topics and favorite television shows all rolled up into one. You gotta love that!9 Zoom(s)

I recently was talking to a couple that are rapidly closing in on their retirement date. They have been planning a bit around their retirement. They got a new place to live, a new car and replaced anything that was getting old to ensure they would have reduced replacement costs in retirement. Now they are completely debt free and are starting up an interesting experiment. They plan to live on their new lower income for six month prior to their retirement date to adjust themselves to their predicted spending in retirement. They call this their retirement experiment. I rather like the idea myself, so I did a little digging into my own spending.Currently after tax and deductions we take home around $3700 a month. If I deduct my current mortgage payments (principle and interest) I'm down to about $2600 and then if I drop off my extra retirement savings I'm down to $1900/month. If I convert that to a yearly amount I'm already living off just $22,800 with a small child. So if I can

Google’s adsense is a peculiar product in many ways.
On the one hand it seems to pull up adverts that are just what people are looking for on webpages. Yet, if you think about it, they’ve arrived at that webpage looking for something and presumably haven’t found it if they’re clicking on one of the adverts.
That being the case, sites that are full of useful content don’t do too well from the adsense point of view. So, for instance this site is quite information rich yet doesn’t get a whole lot of income from adsense. Similarly, our Pyrenees guide is fairly packed with information (and getting more complete by the day as we’re in the midst of an update) but does quite poorly in terms of adsense.
So, what we’re planning is to have an experimental site which is designed with adsense in mind to see if that does better. Anyway, that’s why Whole Earth Guide will be a little light on content (well, that plus we won’t be properly star

The time for secrets is over! The sheets are coming back! The blinders are coming off!
My Deep Dark Secret, Well, Kinda
In looking at the results of the first three Project: I, Blogger installments, I noticed that the initial push had fantastic results in the amount of participation. There was a great amount of conversation, which was my goal. The second episode had half the response of the first article, but still a better than average amount of comments. The third article, by far the largest article of the three and asked direct questions of the readership, had two responses.
The failure of the third article could be in several factors:
I promoted the first article directly to every blog that I subscribed to at the time via RSS. The second article I did zero promotion. The third article I promoted via blogs that
I’ve been debating, internally of course, over the last two weeks with an idea I’ve had. From my perspective, it is a violation of trust of my readers. However, I’ve never seen it done or heard of it being done. So, I’m going to roll the dice, take the plunge, and do it. I’m using WordPress’s ability to TimStamp articles, writing this before I start tonight, and this will post tomorrow. My goal is to see if what I’m about to do is either
Ignored
Accepted
Flamed
So, if you are one of my readers involved in this experiment, and you get really pissed off, I’m sorry. My goal is to push the bounds of blogging behavior and see what is viewed as aceeptable behavior and what is considered going past that line.

Class, I'm back just in time to give you your Friday Homework! Not to worry, this is an easy assignment. Here's wassup: I recently added the niftiest button in the galaxy on my tool bar, and I suggest you do the same because it speeds everything up when I want to fav someone on Technorati. Yes, it's a simple green button with a white heart inside, and when you see a blog you like, you simply click it. That's all! Sweet!I am all for speed, convenience, and ease, and the OLD way of fav'ing someone on Technorati was tedious. Now it's easy for me. And since I read Dosh Dosh did a little fav'ing experiment (which is now closed!), I thought your blondalicious teacher should run a little experiment of her own. Remember, I am nothing if not experimental. So this weekend between chugging your beers, goofing-around, and partying, fav me and let me know that you've done so either through comments or email, and I'll fav you back. Sounds like fun, eh??? First download the button on your tool bar to
Right wing politicians play a difficult juggling game with religion and science, relying on both to justify their policies, but trying not to explicitly mention the two mutually-exclusive frames at the same time. Every now and then, however, they goof up, and bring the systems of religion and science together, resulting in rhetorical distaster.
An example of this was recently provided by Republican presidential candidate Sam Brownback. While campaigning in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Brownback declared, “America is a faith-based experiment as a nation.”
What exactly is a faith-based experiment?
Faith is not a scientific concept. Faith is religious trust, given in spite of the lack of direct evidence that something is true.
An experiment is not a religious activity. An experiment is a rigorously defined set of procedures set up to determine a model of reality based upon direct evidence.
Faith is not only absent to experiments, it is antithetical to experimentation. The phrase
I’m sure some of you would have heard of PageFlakes, an personalized start page that you can set to show up whenever you turn on your computer and open your internet browser. This page is customizable and you can use it to display your address book, to-do list, blog or news feeds, calendar and many other widget-like applications. Why should you use a personalized start page?Because you’ll get to squeeze all the important information you need on one page, allowing you easy access once you open your browser. If you’re a blog reader, you can use it to display feeds from blogs that you usually read. You can also use it as a web-based for jotting down short lists, ideas, events or to-do tasks.Like other start pages like Netvibes, Pageflakes is heavy on Ajax, which means that you can drag and drop most elements on the page itself. It’s very user friendly and you can easily integrate a lot of feed-based media onto your startpage. For example you can get feeds from Youtube or Flickr for
