  • Hey, All You Flyers Fans
I just thought you'd want to know what happens when you give money to an organization run by Ed Snider; part of it goes to Freedom's Watch...If you bought a ticket to the game last night, all you need to do to answer the question "who is paying the bills?" is to look in the mirror.Update 10/15: I know the "ad buy" for the Freedom's Watch propaganda took place from August through September, but anyone who thinks this group won't show up again as themselves or in some other demented incarnation the next time Congress looks at war funding is fooling themselves. So yes, anyone who gives money to Ed Snider is fueling an ongoing campaign as far as I'm concerned.
  • Flyers sign Daniel Briere
The Philadelphia Flyers have signed center Daniel Briere to an eight year contract worth $52 million. In the first year alone, he will make $10 million. The salary cap hit will only be the average over the eight years, which is $6.5 million. The Flyers have been busy over the past month with big signings including Hartnell and Timonen. Briere is a great player don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think he is deserving of this salary and I’m just pleased it’s not the Wings making this signing. The deal will average $6.5 million a season against the salary cap, with the first year paying him $10 million. The contract also features a no movement clause. Briere, 29, came off a career season in which he led the Buffalo Sabres with 95 points. He added a team-leading 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in the playoffs. Briere was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer after he was awarded a one-year, $5 million contract by an arbitrator last July. He wa
  • Flyers sign Timonen and Hartnell
The Nashville Predators got back their 2007 first round draft pick that they had traded to the Philadelphia Flyers earlier this year for Peter Forsberg. Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen have already signed six year contracts with the Flyers. All this has happened before July 1st creating a pretty big surprise for most people. Because of Nashville’s uncertain ownership future and an expected tight budget in the coming year, sources tell TSN the Predators arranged with the Flyers to give them exclusive negotiating rights to two coveted free agents - defenceman Kimmo Timonen and forward Scott Hartnell. Sources tell TSN the Flyers have now signed both Hartnell and Timonen to long-term contracts. Hartnell, who was scheduled to become a free agent on July 1, signed with Flyers on a 6-year, $25.2 million deal for a cap hit of $4.2 million per year. The Flyers also agreed to terms with Timonen on a 6-year, $37.8 million contract for an annual cap hit of $6.3 million. Hartnell was a p
  • I Got Flyers In My Pocket
They are everywhere. Its the invasion of the society of flyers-mongers. Just go to any event show or seminar or promotional gigs, you could see flyers stuffed in every nook and cranny available. I was in one of the event shows of printing companies just recently. And boy, do they really get themselves worked up during these events. No need to announce that they are digital printers. The huge amount of flyers scattered everywhere are evidence enough. Not only are they spread like carpet all over the floor, print flyers were strewn everywhere- on the slots of doorways, stacked on tabletops, pinned in every inch space of every bulletin board put up during the event. Theyre even flung by over eager people of every company that joined this affair. Because of their proliferation, flyer printing has definitely become mandatory in every event or trade show. They are easily the most pocketable reference material on every business that gets to showcase in these events. In addition, flyers
