EA Forms EA Blueprint, Targets Facebook GamersEA has formed EA Blueprint, a division which will make games for a special kind of casual gamers; the online social network users on Facebook. Musical-ecstasy: If you go by the theory of "Old is Gold" then you too will say that Peter Hirschberg is sitting on a Gold Mine. Well, not sitting actually but he just finished building one. Peter Hirschberg has just finished his work with Luna City Arcade which is a museum of retro-games. It's got 57 video game machines, 8 pinball machines, over 50 game titles (oldies) and 5 other machines. Surprisingly, he has managed to so using his own money, though in an interview he did say that he won't mind having big companies as sponsors for his gaming Mecca. Epic: Consoles Are 'Stealing' Hardcore Gamers From PC The hardcore PC gaming audience is dwindling, says Epic's Mark Rein, because consoles are slowly but surely stealing players away. "Consoles are definitely stealing a lot of hardcore gamers from the PC," Rein told The Guardian, adding, "[T]he sales of the console versions are something like ten times the sales of the PC versions." Research On American GamersSome research results have been released today about the attitudes of Americans in regards to video games. The poll was conducted by Hill & Knowlton and sadly the only results they published on their website are the ones that go along with the opinion that games are generally negative. The results they mention are that 60% of adults believe that the government should regulate the sales of violent or mature content video games, while 51% believe that the government should regulate the content itself. According to the ESA there’s a lot more pertinent information that they’re not bothering to mention, as the group approached the ESA with the results of this study the previous summer. Lori and I went to see Chris Isaak in Salamanca on Saturday.We were very close to the stage. In fact, we were VIP... Which meant free food and drinks. I pretty much just wanted to hear "Wicked Game" and "Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing" and wasn't expecting much of the show, but it turned out to be an amazing time. He's a great, all-around entertainer. Lots of jokes and banter and whatnot. I really enjoyed it. The beta for Cliq - our SNS (Social Network Service) for gamers (and non-gamers too) has just started.
I already made a post about Cliq Beta a month back. Cliq is essentially a “friendster-like” application that will let you connect to your online friends, allies and guildmates.
With CLIQ, you can have a profile page, “testi”, blogs, photos, messages and guild functions. Note that this site is still in Beta and we would value your feedback. The Cliq team will be adding more features and functions in the weeks to come. I’m sure Cliq will revolutionize the gaming community!
