Valentines gaming with MTV's Heidi and SpencerFiled under: News, Xbox LiveSo ... yeah. To celebrate Valentines Day love and as part of the Game with Fame reality Scripted-Reality-Show-People fun, MTV's The Hills "stars" (the term "star" being used very liberally) Heidi and Spencer will be online tonight playing Burnout: Paradise. Yup ...We aren't entirely sure who at EA had the great idea to setup such an event, seeing that The Hills isn't a show that instantly makes one think of Burnout: Paradise gamers (maybe their goal was to get your girlfriend excited to play Burnout?). And, for whatever reason, we're thinking one's Paradise street cred wouldn't get a boost if one were to play with Heidi. Actually, we think you'd be laughed at. But, it's your choice and if you want to tear up the streets with Heidi, Spencer and their surprise guests for Valentines gaming then send a friend request to ... wait a second. We aren't supporting this mockery of a GWF. You'll have to make the jump t
This game really makes me smile sometimes, seeing videos like this with people being so incredible lucky with their plasma grenade throws. I know I would get pretty annoyed when people do this to me playing online.. I never am lucky when it comes to grenade throws myself: \ Have fun watching this.
Do you love to play backgammon? Did you know that you can now play online backgammon? The world has changed so much. There was a day when backgammon was a game we played on winter nights between friends. It was an entertainment and relaxation. It was also a way to build friendships.Today's online gamming sites are a great place to meet new friends and keep practiced at games. No one wants to go to a community night and lose a game. Playing online can help people socialize without leaving the home, practice their skills, and meet new friends.I wouldn't suggest using an online gamming site for dating. Not everyone out there is nice, and the gamming sites do not verify or validate users. Never give out your personal information on the Internet.Life Just Keep Getting Better And Better
Online gaming has the potential to fetch the government at least Rs.12.5 billion ($318 million) a year with the figure steadily rising over the years, says the chief executive of the company that pioneered online lottery in India."If the government permits online gaming, we estimate that it will generate business in the region of Rs.250 billion ($6.37 billion) in five to 10 years. Of this, five percent (Rs.12.5 billion) will accrue to the government by way of taxes," said Amar Sinha of Pan India Network Infravest that runs the Playwin lottery brand."This money can be used to fund social sector projects in the fields of education, healthcare and the welfare of senior citizens," Sinha, whose company is part of Subhash Chandra's $1-billion Essel Group, told IANS.Since online gaming is aimed at the upper end players "who have deep pockets, the potential for the government to earn revenue is tremendous. This can only go up over the years", he pointed out."Besides, it will also help create l
Online casinos have been really a great riser in internet industry this past few years. In fact, I can still vividly remember that a few years back, no body even know what a pop-up was and now, god, they are all over. This is one of the best ways by which anyone can just stay warm and cozy in the comforts of our home, never needing to spend money on transportation, and just have the pleasure of relaxation and recreation right then and there at your personal computers or laptops. And the best part of it is... YOU STILL MAKE MONEY! I do not know about you guys but last night, i found it really difficult to keep my hands out of the mouse and keyboard. Playing seems to be of much fun if you know that your not just playing... you are earning as well!! LOL! Who ever said you cannot mix business with pleasure? Why not try these games now?

While marketed as family-friendly products, Mac games ,Apple computers have not attracted the same level of computer game development as Windows PCs. This can in part be put down to the historical technical factors involved. Among the Mac versions of popular Windows games that were developed in-house are Diablo, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Myst, Second Life, Stubbs the Zombie and World of Warcraft.Games For kidsFew off the games made for kids are as follows:-Beauty Salon, LadyBugs, Solitaire, MahjongGlobal warming and environmental issues have never been so covered in the media. It has been three decades since the first home video game systems started to appear on store shelves and in living rooms. In the passing years those games have become increasingly more sophisticated. Long gone are the rough hewn square graphics and the clumsy sound modulation that many of us remember fondly. In their place are sound and graphics that can imitate life, and games that move quickly and perform much like reality. Up until now, the realistic game performances were reserved for the action on the screen, but with the introduction of the Ds Ninetendo Wii, the action has leapt into our living rooms as we become part of the Nintendo Wii game experience. The Nintendo Wii lets us become part of the game in a way never before seen. Instead of the joystick and buttons that have been a staple of video game play since the days of Atari, the Nintendo Wii uses infrared technology to communicate with a wireless remote control, and it is the remote control of the Nintendo Wii that separate

Just arrived at Manila via PAL. Flight was okay, around 4 hours. I did not sleep last night since the limousine bus from the COEX hotel leaves at 5:10am. The Incheon international airport is far… like from Manila to Bulacan. So it takes around an hour and a half to get there.

In the Philippines, the gaming scene isn't as alive as it is in America. Conventions aren't as big or as often, but it does have its perks. I've heard stories about gaming nerds in conventions. Big, fat, smelly, and a danger to other gamers. I have fortunately never encountered one of them, and I hope that I don't. Filipinos will seldom sacrifice their hygiene over a game. We like to smell nice.Anyway, Level-Up! Live 2007: Logged and Loaded is tommorow and I've been preparing. I decided to check on the things I need to bring, and I'll be sharing it with you. A gamer's guide to conventions.1. TransportationYou can't attend a convention if you're not there. Check on where the venue is, look for bus/jeepney stations and know what trip you should be on and where to get off. Getting lost is not good, especially if you're unfamiliar with the place. The trip home is also important, be sure that you CAN get back home. If the convention is going to last the night, either be sure that there stil
A Brussels think-tank has accused the US government of reneging on commitments made to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) over internet gaming.Panellists at a trade forum levelled harsh criticism at the US, focusing on a burgeoning trade clash between the US and Europe over internet gaming. The forum believes that the US could be liable for up to US$100 billion in trade concessions to European industries after placing illegal discriminatory trade restrictions on European gaming operators. The disputed concessions arise from Antigua's victory earlier this year when the WTO ruled that the US violated its treaty obligations by excluding online Antiguan gaming operators, while allowing domestic operators to offer various forms of online gaming.Instead of complying with the ruling, the Bush administration withdrew the sizeable gambling industry from its free trade commitments. As a result, all 151 WTO members are considering seeking compensation for the withdrawal equal to the size of the enti

CNN is reporting that it's happened again in China- a man has died after a three-day gaming binge in a cyber cafe.So many things wrong with this story. First of all, how does someone sit in an internet cafe for three days without anyone else noticing? I'm sure that it must have been a huge, 24 hour, windowless warehouse type of place, with people coming and going all the time, but still, what business would allow people to basically live in their building? And then, of course, there's the gaming angle. Videogames and the Internet didn't kill this man, people, despite what CNN says:The paper said that he may have died from exhaustion brought on by too many hours on the Internet.Actually, I'm not a doctor, but I'm pretty sure he died from exhaustion brought on by staying awake for too long. If he'd been playing ping pong for three days straight, he probably wouldn't have come out of it very well either. The article says they don't know what game he was playing, so this may not even be Wo
Penitentiaries in the UK have banned Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS because officials believe the crooks in the slammer are smart enough to send out messages to other convicts and set up a terror attack.Just don’t let them get online. Doesn’t that solve that whole problem? Criminals shouldn’t have any privileges, but banning gaming consoles is a bit harsh. Maybe it’s just the gamer in me. The technology in the new generation of computer games makes them a security risk. There is concern that top terror suspects have been using systems already in jails. It’s been quite some time since I held my last online contest. Those sepcifically for the Perfect World beta was quite successful, if I say so myself. Though I previously posted some tips on how to hold your own blog contest, it’s time to put the words into action (yet, again).
This weekend, I’ll be musing over a group writing project which will be open for bloggers. The goal of this project cum contest is to help each other promote our individual blogs, our hobby and the industry as a whole. Basically, it will work this way: each week, I’ll be posting a theme that we can all write about. It will specifically focus on gaming, online and MMORPG experiences. Then, those who wish to participate can simply post back their entries with a linkback to the contest’s home page and then submit it to me.
Every week (hopefully Fridays) I will compiling a list of all those who submitted and be keeping track of those who submitted more than one entry per week. I&rsqu

Throughout the years, we’ve come to admire the female characters in video games. One of my fondest memories of course was rescuing a certain “Princess Peach” from the evil clutches of King Koopa while I took on the role of an Italian plumber with his cousin Luigi.
Soon after, scores of games would feature memorable heroines which would later become definitive icons in this digital age.
After giving it much forethought, I decided to just list down the gmtristan.com “Top 5 most influential female video game characters”

I’m sure some of us LOVE our games. But a rare bunch of dudes love their hardware even more!
Modding started off with PC cases. I mean, who would ever love those old beige and plan-vanilla, boring PC cases, right? Modding, as a hobby, then took off. Some businesses catering to this growing niche emerged. As time passed, modders began to fiddle beyond the PC - they found out that consoles (and handhelds) were also fun to work with.
