...w/ awesome written all over it.I was recently contacted by Mr. McGraime of Magnolia Pictures about this film. I've heard about it before, but only briefly. Needless to say I am actually looking forward to this film and hopefully these trailers and the like will get you interested too. You can check out the webpage for The Signal here. There is also a photogallery here. It’s New Year’s Eve in the city of Terminus and chaos is this year’s resolution. All forms of communication have been jammed by an enigmatic signal that preys on the fears and desires of everyone in the city. Told in three parts from three unique perspectives by three visionary directors, The Signal is a horrific journey towards discovering that the most brutal monster might actually be within all of us. First is the regular trailer.Next is the exclusive violent trailer (warning, has some language)And lastly is an actual sneak peak preview into the movie (i.e. a scene from the flick itself): That being

The following was the second interview I did with Dr. Ralph Wilson of Web Marketing Today while I was at PubCon Las Vegas. In this interview we discussed the horror stories I have seen over my 10 years of SEO. The focus was on how important it is to involve an SEO in the initial planning of a new website because you never know if you are going to use a technology that may hamper or completely block search engines. A SEO consultant doesn't need much time to tell you if you are on the right track and it will save you a lot of headache down the line.Without further adieu, here is my interview:by Ross Dunn, CEO, StepForth Web Marketing Inc.
Having recently witnessed a fellow expire before his very eyes, aristocratic adventurer Lord Likely is somewhat surprised to see the same fellow suddenly spring back to life.
He is slightly more surprised to see the same man advance upon him, demanding he let him feast on his lordship's brains.
In short: Lord Likely faces up to a terri5 Zoom(s)
Richard Crofoot stoically told jurors today how he'd seen friends killed in Vietnam, but his lower lip trembled and his voice cracked when he talked about his friend Danny Hogan, who died in the March 2005 explosion at BP's Texas City refinery.
"In Vietnam, we knew you could die," he said,...

So I will admit it. I was one of those guys who was in love with Britney Spears when she first hit the scene with Hit Me Baby One More Time. I mean she was HOT. I was 18 and she was 16, so it wasn’t even that creepy. And I [...]

German reporters in Myanmar spoke confidentially with a variety of opposition leaders to the bestial military junta which controls Burma. Eight days til Halloween! Times for ghoulies and ghosties and long-leggity beasties and things that go bump in the night. I can’t say I understand why people get such a thrill out of scaring themselves silly, even though I participate myself from time to time. Is it the adrenaline rush? Or does an occasional horror story make us feel better about our normal everyday lives? It could be a leftover from our childhood, when our older siblings, and sometimes our parents got such a kick out of frightening us. Or maybe the act of telling a scary story gives us a sense of power over the people we are scaring. I always felt like some kind of success when I could scare someone just with a little story. Maybe I could try some out on you today! Why Werewolves should not join the astronaut program. The Five Creepiest Urban Legends (that happen to be true). Funny Frankenstein and the Wolfman videos!I wrote up a list of Our Favorite Vampires for mental_floss. Check it out

The Beast has a synopsis of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and a review of our film-making extravaganzaIn addition to the HHN event itself, Rex and I were going to be filming the sequel to our smashing 2006 success "Mission: IOA." This time around we decided to bring in some help, so Barry from over at Inn Of The Last Home stepped up to the plate. He gave a wonderful boost to the entire project and was responsible for some of the funnier scenes in the movie. We filmed most of the day on Thursday and Friday morning till about 11:30.Aw shucks, tweren't nothin'...
What's a girl with a cold-flu-sinus hell supposed to do? If you're a horror freak like me and a Masters of Horror fan: muck about with montages. For all horror fans out there, there's a competition to win Masters of Horror prizes. I'm not eligible to enter due to my Australian status (which sucks), but it was fun to enter anyway, just to make a Masters of Horror Mash. The competition is run in conjuction with Brightcove, and all you have to do is click the links, and use the media provided (video, image, sound) to put together your own mash. I used clips from the episodes: Jenifer, Dance of the Dead, Fair Haired Child, Dreams in the Witch House (a horrifying HP Lovecraft adaptation), Incident On and Off a Mountain Road, and Pick me Up (not in exact order: Jenifer opens and ends my mash). The link to it...
Since Halloween isn’t too far off and I know I enjoy watching cheesy horror films, no matter how bad they are they will usually bring a smile to my face. Here are just some of the reasons why they are so amazingly bad and entertaining.
Reason 1 - “Maybe we should split up!?!?” [...]
Class, I'm absolutely horrified! And I'm asking you to help your blondalicious teacher out here! Console me and answer my poll below! Or enter my contest! You see, I've gone and done it! Confession: I am no longer a Blog Contest Virgin! I know....I know what you're thinking! Your OWN sassy teacher. She of the black silk teddy, naughty lingerie, and feisty words actually started a blog contest of her own? Yes, tis true!I wanted to experience how it felt, plus I wanted to see if offering a $50 Gift Certificate would make me excited, generous, loved, and happy! And it did. It did.... for a while. Thus, on my Who's Yo Mama? blog, I've posted my first contest. I'm no longer a virgin. Late last night while the meteors were whizzing by and I was sooo excited watching them streak through the dark night sky, I recruited Elvis Presley from the grave to sing for my readers in a YouTube video on my blog contest. The contest rules are to subscribe to my blog and express feelings/thoughts/memories abo
Yesterday, I noticed this post at the CityBeat blogs, calling for anyone with a military recruiter horror story to contact the Intercommunity Justice and Peace Center (IJPC). The blog entry explains, “ IJPC is asking students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors and others for their stories about encounters with aggressive military recruiters. E-mail your stories to kristen@ijpc-cincinnati.org or call Kristen or Julie at 513-579-8547.” It just so happens I’ve had some experience with military recruiters bending the rules of engagement with high school students, so I just called to share my observations. Please consider doing the same, if you know anything!
A few years back, when I worked for an area Catholic high school, there were some recruiters who consistently bent the rules of engagement for talking with students.
As I understand the game, recruiters are allowed to set up tables in the cafeteria. They are allowed to answer any questions if
Sit down and take a deep breath; this may come as a shock. But one part of the UK Government is better at online business than Tesco. I'll say that again...Tesco is worse online than one arm of the UK Government. I know, sounds mad doesn't it?When you consider that Tesco generates £1.3 billion in sales via the Internet, this is some boast. But, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) is doing even better. On average, each day of the year, the DVLA is "outselling" Tesco by £600,000. Every day the DVLA takes around £4.2m in car tax completed online. According to Computer Weekly magazine, the DVLA completes around 273,500 car tax applications each week online. So, why is the DVLA out-doing Tesco? Simple. It's convenience. Finding your MOT certificate, your insurance documents, writing a cheque and then trudging to a Post Office only to queue for 20 minutes is not the most pleasing task in the world. Getting your car tax paid online takes less than five minutes. Tesco also offe
The good news has arrived that “torture porn” is on the wane. If you’re into horrors such as Hostel 2 and Captivity, looks like you might have to look to the doubtless continuation via indie film to get your kicks. Yes, endured human suffering is no longer paying at the box office...

We already know from Slither that James Gunn is a master of horror, but will he be taking the reins for an episode in a third series of the popular show? Mick Garris, the man behind the madness, is talking of a third Starz' Masters of Horror series, folllowing the success of the first two,...
More and more Israeli commentators are frankly admitting that Israel’s pull-out from Gaza in the summer of 2005 was an open invitation to the forces of radical Islam to set up house in the defenseless territory. A former Israeli national security adviser Gen (ret.) Giora Eiland argues now that the influx of tons of smuggled weapons and explosives into Gaza Strip must be halted at any price. There is a real danger of Hamas importing reinforcements from Syria and Lebanon for its next offensive. Egypt will, as usual, stand aside. Eiland was the only defense official at the time to oppose disengagement as a recipe for bringing Iran and al Qaeda to Israel’s borders. Having been proved correct, he now proposes to limit the damage by recapturing the Philadelphi route and the southern outskirts of Palestinian Rafah, flatten the houses there and evict 15,000-20,000 people. This option would give Israel the chance to start combating Hamas at a point from which the IDF enjoys a position of st

Yesterday a gunman went on a rampage and killed at least 33 people and injured many more on the campus of Virginia Tech. University in Blacksburg Virginia. It is considered the worst massacre killing spree in U.S. history. This is the second time in less than a year the school was closed down because of a shooting. I have spent time on that campus and had friends with ties to that school. My heart goes out to the victims and their families and I will burn a candle in their memory. Click here for timeline of the event.
I should mention that I'm still participating in The Horror Blog's weekly Horror Roundtable. You should check out this week's installment: Name your favourite horror-related song.
15. Fright Night [1985] - starring the dude from Herman's Head, Marcy Darcy from Married with Children, that other dude from Planet of the Apes, and some really weird dude who went on to star in gay porn. This movie has it all! While drawing on the influence of the old Universal horror movies for the scares, Fright Night does a remarkable job at presenting a fairly intelligent script during the heyday of gore and slash that has come to be known as the mid-80's.14. Hostel [2005] - I was truly surprised that this film was as good as it was. I really enjoyed Eli Roth's debut Cabin Fever but this was totally beyond anything I ever expected from him. I didn't think it was nearly as gory as some people made it out to be. That's probably a good thing. Scenes of torture are hard to watch and Roth is aware of what to show and when to show it. The story is good and the characters are fleshed out in a way that you actually invest yourself in them. I sound like a fool making that state
Here it is. The beginning of the end. The top 20 horror films of all time starts today. 20. Evil Dead [1981] - the first of the trilogy. The only one of the Evil Dead movies that I would consider to be a true horror flick. The Evil Dead has Bruce Campbell in a subdued role as the anti-hero Ash. Stuck in a cabin in the woods? Is that a tree branch in you pocket or are you just happy to see me?19. Dawn of the Dead [2004] - a remake of one of the greatest horror films of all time? Blasphemy! This remake had Sarah Polley, a Stereophonics song, and zombies that run! Zombies that run I tell ya, zombies that run. This was close enough to the original to make it interesting but unique enough to make it worthwhile.18. Ginger Snaps [2000] - two sisters are obsessed with death. This sounds like my kind of movie. One of the sisters is attacked late at night and turns into a "foxy" chick who is really a werewolf. I love the look of this movie. It's got suburbia written all over it [it was filme
I was returning from London and came across the advertisement for Oxfam Unwrapped at the tube station. There's even a funny advertisement on the TV (see below). I found this advert rather hilarious and funny. It made me think of the horrors I get after receiving some bad taste Christmas presents.
