  • We think Liam means "imaginary friend"
Liam Gallagher seems to be suggesting that John Lennon was his imaginary friend, but then appears to back pedal impressively:"I wouldn't say that he visits me [but] I had an out-of-body experience [with him] when I was about 17 or 16, and, as far as I'm concerned, that's when I started getting into music," Gallagher told Spinner.com."That's when it all started going down, and I reckon it has something to do with him. He don't come and visit me - at least, I don't think he does. I wish he did."Imaginary friend. Or possibly something to do with drugs. We like the way that Liam's not entirely sure if he's being visited by the ghost of Lennon, though - presumably it's hard to tell who's there when Elvis and the Big Bopper call round with their mates.
  • Paying for Imaginary Flushes
It seems obvious, but people generally use less of something if they have to pay for it.  Most people would assume that the more they use, the more they pay.  The more you drive, the more gasoline you have to buy, and the more you pay for that gasoline.  The more you run your air conditioner, the more you pay in electricity.  No one would ever imagine a system where one paid for running the air conditioner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, no matter if it were turned on or off.  Yet something similar happens to many customers when they pay their water bills.
  • Imaginary Testing
Ever thought of a test that you haven't executed? Ever wonder if it might be valuable to add a use case, test case, or test charter? Ever feel like you spend more time talking about how to solve problems than it would take to try some of the proposed solutions?I've been involved in discussions about software bugs that take more time than it would take to fix and retest. I understand that it is important to consider the risks associated with a bug and any proposed solutions. However, some times we just need to do it.I've been in test planning meetings that take more time than it would take to execute the proposed tests. I've also wasted time performing unnecessary tests. The problem is that the usefulness of a test is usually not known until we have the results from that test. When it makes sense, stop hypothesizing and start testing.Imaginary testing is unreliable.
