NEW DELHI: The process of selecting a replacement for V Thulasidas, chairman & managing director of National Aviation Company India, which was created through the merger of Air India and Indian, has entered the final phase. From a total of 55 applications, 16 have been shortlisted by the three-member sub-committee, which consists of the Public Enterprises Selection Board chairman, secretary, civil aviation, and secretary, personnel. These 16 names will be discussed with the search panel, headed by cabinet secretary K Chandrashekhar, to identify the likely appointee. After the PESB clearance, two names will be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet which will eventually clear the name. Out of the 16 candidates shortlisted, four are senior NACIL officials, six IAS officers and six heads of PSUs and armed forces.
