  • Dinosaurs of Eden: A Biblical Journey Through Time (part 5)
Mirrored here.Archaeoraptor Fallacy Then, Ham gives a fabricated story about a fossil dinosaur with feathers in China. Ham claims that the scientists thought they have a transitional form, but then they discover that the fossil is really 2 animals, a bird with feathers and a dinosaur glued together into forming one fossil. Here is the real, factual story of the Archaeoraptor fossil Ham and others are touting around to get people to doubt the scientists, who says they found feathered fossils of dinosaurs. The Archaeoraptor fossil is really 2 dinosaurs forged into one by a Chinese farmer, a peasant who dug the fossils up and smuggled it to the US along with the other fossils that are illegally unearthed and smuggled out of China to be sold to fossil collectors to add to their private fossil collections with little regard to the fossils' high value to the scientific community. Paleo-artist, Stephen Czerkus, became the unfortunate one of purchasing it for $80,000 in a fossil black market i
  • Dinosaurs of Eden: A Biblical Journey Through Time (part 4)
Mirrored here. One Big Major Joke! Now we get to the section of the book that's filled with blatant hypocrisy and venomous lies that spans from pages 44 to 53. On page 44, Ham blames everything bad (i.e. the effects of sin, the [sic] curse of earth, and the fabled global flood) on man and beast's competitiveness over space and the extinction of many animals species brought on by man. If young earth is true, and all organisms live at the same time, the world would have been a huge landfill of living organisms piled sky high with no space in between them all over the earth. Ham then encourages his followers on page 45 to ask a scientist a simple question about wildlife conservation. It's important to support wildlife conservation for many animals, because man is driving many animals into extinction for a lot of reasons, such as destroying their habitats to make room for farming, mining, and settlement, poaching, pollution, overgrazing, and other atrocities man has committed against the an
  • Dinosaurs of Eden: A Biblical Journey Through Time (part 3)
Mirrored here.Ham's Flood StoryNow we get to pages 28-33, where the story of Noah and the worldwide flood are told. Because man have filled the world with violence, God made up His mind to destroy mankind with a flood. But Noah finds grace in the eyes of the Lord, so God tells Noah that he will bring a great flood to punish mankind for his sins and commands him to build the ark that about, according to the book, around 437 feet long, 73 feet wide, and 44 feet high which is inaccurate. It was more likely 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet tall. Noah are to take with him two of every kind of animal, a male and his mate and 7 of every kind of animal that will be used for food and sacrifices, a male and his mates. In the young earth version of this world, Noah are to take with him fictional dinosaurs along with the rest of the animals into the ark to be kept alive and repopulate the earth after the flood. These creatures of myth are to be teens or much younger hatchlings because the
  • Dinosaurs of Eden: A Biblical Journey Through Time (part 2)
Mirrored here.Ham's Lie About When Dinosaurs LivedHam, on page 11, claims the reader might be saying, “What does all of this have to do with dinosaurs?” The real answer is zero. None of this has anything to do with dinosaurs. However, Ham claims Colossians 1:16 tells us that God created everything [word all capitalized]. Still, it has nothing to do with dinosaurs. Ham says God created dinosaurs (Saying that God created everything doesn't exempt Him from causing everything to evolve and change over time. If God just created everything, then He render everything living, boring cloning machines constantly making exact carbon copies of the original form.) and that God created dinosaurs on day 6 of Creation along side of man and all other land animals God has made. Something that only exist in Ham's fantasies. Ham then tells of how the dinosaurs were first coined by Sir Richard Owen years ago. Ham is one year off of what he claimed. The word 'dinosaur' was actually coined in 1842, not 1
  • Dinosaurs of Eden: A Biblical Journey Through Time
Mirrored here.Unbelievable but true, there are creationists out there, including this one, who believes that there is no such thing as dinosaurs. They claim dinosaurs are non-existent, the bones and fossils of dinosaurs were just carved out by scientists to promote senseless propaganda, and/or the Devil have put those strange bones in the ground to deceive men or God put the bones there to test His people's faith in Him.In one way, they are telling the truth. There is no such thing as dinosaurs that lived alongside of man, roamed the Garden of Eden, being all vegetarians, perishing in the great flood of Noah only for some to be safe and hibernating on the ark only to leave it to die off in “post-flood” extremes (i.e. froze to death in the ice age, killed off by man, etc.), being Behemoth and Leviathan as told in Job 40 and 41, being dragons people saw, fought, and kill in legends, and living in the remote jungle areas of the world today. Therefore, dinosaurs is truly all a myth....

  • My Religious Journey Part 4 (The Final Chapter)
    4. What do you understand to be the meaning of life? Do you believe in life after death? Why are we here? What is the point of life? How do you make sense of life?I believe that there doesn’t necessarily have to be a ‘meaning’ to life. Nevertheless, I’ve wondered about the question for as long as I can remember and while I’ve gone through periods where I thought the answer was probably love (mostly because that’s what everyone else seems to think) and then, somewhat cynically, 42, I’ve now decided that if there is an answer, and assuming that it is an answer that the living can comprehend, and it’s not connected to any religious ideology, it’s probably happiness. At least, that’s as close to an understanding of the meaning of life as I can get at this point. I don’t trust that the answer really is ‘happiness’. With universal happiness there is no growth, which suggests to me that growth could be the meaning. Except that there has to be a point to the growth, a

  • My Religious Journey Part 3
    3. What are your responses to these great ‘religious’ questions: why does suffering exist? Why do we have to die? Why does God allow injustice to occur?I don’t think these questions have to have answers. Practically speaking, I think that out of everything that occurs there is a fairly even balance between suffering and happiness, and I’m inclined to think that it has a lot more to do with the probability of something good happening as opposed to something bad happening, rather than some divine interference creating evil in a good world, or vice versa. I think the effect that suffering has on people is probably just incidental. Perhaps suffering doesn’t have to happen, it just does. It also serves a valuable purpose – people wouldn’t function properly if they didn’t or couldn’t feel pain, be it emotional or physical. It is essential for learning and growth. As for death, I think that people dying allows for people to be born, and of course, without death the food chai

  • Journey Escape Demo Cart: An Update - SendMeRSS
Journey Escape Demo Cart: An UpdateSo after some begging and reaching out to the classic gaming community, we finally have some good intel on that Journey Escape Atari 2600 demonstration cartridge that I picked up in my thrift store travels last month. I did take it by Jenn's place to try it out, and as it turns out, the contents of the cartridge are identical to the retail Journey Escape game. Supercollector Ian Baronofsky (check out his credentials) lets us know:The Journey cart is probably a sales sample demo cart. Nowadays we just call that a 'prototype' despite the fact that most of these samples contain completed released ROMs. Journey is among the most commonly found or owned prototypes in collectors hands. Having one is practically a right of passage for hardcore collectors, and traditionally has not been an extremely expensive purchase. In today's market environment for video game rarities, the value is probably somewhere between $50 and $150. I would guess that on

  • Benazir's last journey begins
The final journey of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto began from Sukkur to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh in Larkana for her burial near her father Zulfikar Ali Bhutto's grave. Thousands of people also converged here to see the last rites performed of their leader, who was killed on Thursday evening in a suicide and gun attack minutes after she wrapped up a public rally in Rawalpindi's Liaqat Bagh area. Benazir's husband Asif Ali Zardari, elder daughter Bakhtawar, younger daughter Asifa, son Bilawal, central leader of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Shery Rehman and other friends and family members are accompanying the convoy leading to the burial ground. Her dead body was brought by a C-130 flight to Sukkur Airport, this morning, from where it was taken to Larkana by an army helicopter. In the final journey to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, an ambulance is carrying the coffin draped in PPP party flag. (ANI)
  • Journey From Interior To Exterior [Mommy Makeover]:
How a couple becomes a family and another human being takes charge of their lives, the journey begins from conception. Today, when we not only can ensure sex without pregnancy, but pregnancy without sex, we have to reformulate every aspect of our thinking as our foundation of the most basic facts of life are being revised.Women today are not willing to accept the physical and emotional changes that delivering a child brings about. Rather they want to do something about it, ‘since’ they can. There are institutes today all over the world which with the help of plastic surgery can change the way you look and feel post pregnancy.Breast augmentation and tummy tuck surgeries are the most commonly opted for after pregnancy.Breast augmentation technically known as augmentation mammoplasty is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast for a number of reasons. Essentially to restore breast volume lost due to weight loss or pregnancy. Pregnancy is another factor
  • My Faith Journey Part 2
    2. What impact has your family had on your beliefs? Do they support your search?Only my father is Catholic, and it is thanks to him that I and my siblings have been baptised and sent to Catholic schools. While my mother is technically Anglican, a structured religion for her children is only as important to her as it is because of how important it is to my father. I have been encouraged to embrace my religion, but it doesn’t occupy a huge place in my family’s life. Religion seems to be something we forget about for a while, until suddenly Easter or Christmas comes around and Dad remembers that we should probably go to Church more often. I seldom discuss my beliefs with my parents, or they with me. It was always assumed that Dad followed Catholicism inwardly as well as outwardly and that Mum wanted us to do the same, but I had no idea what she believed herself until I asked her very recently. When I was about twelve or thirteen my father asked me whether I believed in God. It had been
  • Story #49: "Journey of an Atheist"
(Via vjack, Part I)I've really enjoyed reading personal accounts from several atheist bloggers about their journey from religion to atheism (e.g., Steve Wild at Dailyspeech.net), so I figured it was time to share mine. If nothing else, it will be a good excuse for some self reflection around how I came to believe what I do.I was raised in the Methodist church by parents who were not particularly religious but who thought that it would somehow be good for me to be exposed to religion. They also attended church for the social networking, but the primary reason was that they wanted their child exposed to it.My earliest memories of religion involved fear. Like our primitive ancestors, I was afraid of the unknown. As a young child, just about everything is unknown. Added to this, I was a bit more neurotic than most. I prayed because I was afraid of what would happen if I didn't. Nobody really threatened me with hellfire and damnation; it was just the idea that if there was this invisible ma

  • My Faith Journey Part 1
Faith can go jump in a hole and die. Sick of it. But here's Part One of what I submitted to my Religion teacher. She better like it, it took me two months to write. Or get around to writing, anyway. It's surprising how difficult it was. Enough beating around the bush. Here it is.1. Do you believe in God?I believe that there is a possibility that there is a God. I know as a Catholic I am supposed to believe in God as a certainty. I know I'm supposed to use my unwavering faith to dispel any doubts regarding the existence of God. I know I'm not supposed to be cynical, I'm just supposed to believe. I also know that I'm not satisfied with that. I've been brought up to think that my religion is to be one of the most important elements of my life. Knowing that, I'm not prepared to just accept the one religion I was born into, without looking thoroughly at why I'm supposed to believe these things, why my father's religion is any better than the Muslim's down the road and why I need a religion

They made camp the following afternoon after following the Nar River south and crossing a wooden bridge wide enough for two carriages to pass at the same time. Iliad guessed they had traveled a good sixty miles; James knew it would be several days before they reached Sem’pur. Along the riverbed they washed the filth from their clothes until the fabric no longer stunk. Triska took a moment to sprinkle the petals of little green flowers on their clothes, and before long all the stench of the sewage lines were lost. The first night proved eventful. Nobody had asked James about his hand, and he had made no effort to discuss it. Even Triska, who normally seemed aware of injuries at all times, being a healer and all, was oblivious. James sat in the dirt silently. “You came for me,” Laura said, cool and collected, looking at James with her bright green eyes. He nodded. “That’s amazing.” “I do

?"? ????? ???"?I was sitting here at my computer thinking how it is going to take some time (and money) to acquire all the ritual items I want. Nothing I want costs alot of money really, but it does add up. Yet, I wasn't bothered by the idea of "taking time". I don't feel compelled to "have it all now." In fact, it struck me that there is so much magic in just the journey alone of planning, gathering and preparing one's tools and rituals. Then I thought that this must be true for sofrim as well. The act of preparation is itself sacred, soul-developing and magical. It is definitely true - the magic is with the witch and she makes her tools magical!

(Via Kausik Datta)I am a working scientist, though I am quite low in the pecking order, so to speak. I am a lowly post-doctoral researcher, with not much academic activity (or rather, activity, period!) outside of the lab for lack of time. But I do have a passion for science and scientific thought, and value science education tremendously.I don't know if my story would sound familiar. Not too long ago, I was a believer. Perhaps you may have guessed from my name - I am an Indian, born to and raised by parents who practise the Hindu religion. But to them, the Hindu religion (I avoid the term 'Hinduism') was not at all about the kind of teeth-gnashing, attention-clamoring, mosque-destroying, intemperate, uncivil, hooliganism that has become the face of Hindu-ism in modern India. To them, it was a philosophy; a unifying theme of 'One God - many manifestations' - that easily included the God-heads of other religions of the world; a kind, understanding, all-embracing way of life,

  • Eating Disorder Recovery: Musings on My Journey
I forget that I am in recovery from an eating disorder.I forget a lot.I come back here to write and I find myself wandering off...to play guitar, to read a book, to paint, to write poetry, to explore different yoga practices, research different careers that I'm curious about, to answer the phone, to clean the house, to have a four hour marathon conversation with my best friend, to go to a concert, to take a long walk with my camera, to explore new streets, to spend time with my husband sharing our vision for our family (should we be blessed to have our own little miracle some day), to go to the beach...I was musing last night about the journey of recovery. My journey...To recover my inner voice, authentic drive, spirit, health, hope, feelings (the full spectrum), self-confidence and to transform my passion that was so negatively driven by external "markings" of achievement into a desire to truly live and experience life in the moment. For me, living in the moment was something I never q
  • My journey embarks on.
Im just your average pinoy guy. Im a nursing student in a unversity who topped '06 Philippine board exam(that means im not sure if i have enough time for this.) , I like to play basketball, hang out with friends at times, but generally a homebuddy, i love adobo, im known to be notoriously late in gatherings(lol).Since weve been connected to the internet a few months back, i figured alot of people really make good money out of weblogs. Some even consider it as their full-time job. I know a number of people: anito kid and culture shock. Can a regular guy like me earn from the internet? Can any pinoy really earn money from the internet without any cost? These are the two questions that urged me to make this blog. Honestly, with limited background on blogging, internet, SEO and other jargonic lines, i dont know where im heading. I guess we just have to find out.But well, im off to my way! Wala bang shot dyan?! One for the road?? haha!It is my earnest hope that other pinoy bloggers, gurus and
  • Million Dollar Journey is Taking Over the Blog World!
Catchy title hey? Canadian Dream gave me, Frugal Trader of Million Dollar Journey, the honor of taking care of his popular blog during the week that he's away. I've been following Mr. Dream's blog ever since it started and I must admit that I'm a big fan. What's not to like? Early retirement is a popular topic as most people in the working world want to leave the rat race well before they are eligible for old age security (65). With Canadian Dream being in his late 20's with a current net worth of around $200,000, there is no doubt that he will reach his goals. Especially if you're as stingy frugal as him (hope he doesn't read this). We have a great week of articles lined up, among them include interviews with popular personal finance blogs and other personal finance ramblings. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments, or you can contact me directly by visiting my blog.Frugal TraderMillionDollarJourney.com
  • My Personal Development Blog New Title - My Journey To Living An Exceptional Life
You must have noticed that my Personal Development Blog title has changed toMy Journey To Living An Exceptional LifeAfter reading back my previous posts, I realized that this Personal Development blog has taken its own life, manifesting my thoughts and learnings into a world of its own. I have initially wanted to blog on success through internet, focusing on internet business and Success University courses that teaches self development. But some how, all the posts ended up sharing my personal experience, excerpting articles from my favorite motivational speakers and of course those touching and funny video clips. When I look at the old Title "Albert's Internet Success Journal (Success University)", it seems no longer reflecting what my personal development blog really is. I decided to change it to current new title "My Journey To Living An Exceptional Life", this is what my blog is all about, to share my journey to living an exceptional life!
