  • Libertarian Ron Paul Promotes Laws Against Liberty At The Local Level
Ron Paul correctly identifies flag burning as a free speech issue. The burning of an American flag is a form of criticizing the government, and if flag burning is banned, then a form of government criticism is banned. "The offensive conduct of a few does not justify making an exception to the First Amendment protections of political speech the majority finds offensive," Ron Paul wrote, arguing against a constitutional amendment that would have weakened the First Amendment by allowing flag burning to be banned.

As Dan Carson - a reluctant New York City construction worker turned freedom fighter - gamers must survive the initial invasion before regrouping with other U.S. resistance members to take the fight back to the Nazis. • How Liberty can be stolen(taken from DIG)
FEMA eclipses the United States Constitution into oblivion, rendering it null & void. Some people have referred to FEMA as the "secret government" of the United States. It is not an elected body, it does not involve itself in public disclosures, and it even has a quasi-secret budget in the billions of dollars. This government organization has more power than the President of the United States or the Congress, it has the power to suspend laws, move entire populations, arrest and detain citizens without a warrant and hold them without trial, it can seize property, food supplies, transportation systems, and can suspend the U.S. Constitution. Is it any wonder why the U.S. government considers America's Constitution "terrorist literature". Here are just a few Executive Orders associated with FEMA that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen: * EXECUTIVE

  • Give me liberty or give me death
The familiar saying took on a whole new meaning last week in the United States: ?Give me liberty or give me death,? she wrote. ?Maybe the next campaign ought to be for assisted-suicide laws in our state. If they will not allow me to live in peace, and a little less pain, would they help me to die, humanely?? Long time medical marijuana advocate Robin Prosser chose death last week, committing suicide after being denied access to medical marijuana by Federal DEA agents.  You can watch Robin's story on YouTube in a four part series entitled "Forbidden Medicine".   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuxHvCDdNzc  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SfbsnE2C_U  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLthAm0WhMo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWTiRhy3-F0

  • Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - Preview
Individuals can make a difference. That's the theme that runs clean through Turning Point like a bullet through a Nazi's skull. Take Dan Carson, for instance. In Turning Point, you'll be taking charge of his every movement via the medium of tapping buttons and twiddling sticks. He's just your average New York Joe.Sure, he's a burly guy, but to a heavily trained, suited, booted Nazi henchman, he's about as intimidating as the cast of Friends. But with this unassuming tool, you're going to have to generate and maintain a resistance against the Nazi invaders who threaten your way of life. And the twist? The battleground this time out isn't Nowhereville-Sur-Mer. In Turning Point's history rewrite (via Robert Harris' Fatherland) in 1953 the Nazis, conquerors of Europe, have reached the shores of New York - and you're standing at Ground Zero. Individuals, then, make the difference. Churchill for one. Now, if you asked our grandmothers (NB: stay away from our grandmothers) what Chu

  • Speaking of Liberty
Author: Llewellyn H. RockwellPaperback: 471 pagesPublisher: Ludwig Von Mises Institute (December 2003) Language: EnglishISBN: 0945466382 Ludwig von Mises said that teaching the public was just as important as addressing scholars — maybe more so. That is what Lew Rockwell specializes in: history and theory and analysis in defense of the free society, written in clear prose to reach a broad audience. Rockwell's new book is as pro-liberty as it is brutally critical of government. It is relentlessly forthright yet hopeful about the prospects for liberty. It is rigorous enough to withstand the enemy's closest scrutiny, and chock full of the energy and enthusiasm that will keep you reading. Speaking of Liberty is a collection of speeches delivered by Rockwell over a period of ten years. The book begins with economics, and explains why Austrian economics matters, how the Federal Reserve brings on the business cycle, why we need private property and free enterprise, the unrecognized
  • Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
On this Fourth of July I can't help but think about how lucky I am to live in this country. We may not be granted happiness, but we are given so many things that help us with the pursuit of it and isn't that what life is all about? Isn't that what we are all striving for every day? To find our own personal happiness, personal peace of mind and acceptance in this world. When I went to India a few years back, my eyes were opened up to just how lucky I am. Walking through the streets I saw these children running amuck, dirty, unsupervised, barefoot and their clothes were hanging off of them. My hearts went out to them. They loved getting their picture taken and seeing it on the camera. I went back a few months later and saw them again to my delight, but nothing had changed. Most everyone lived in cramped apartments and if you weren't that lucky you would be in a shanty or a small room made out of tin with a tarp for a roof. Your children would be playing in the sewers or helping you wo
  • Emmas On Liberty
In a very quiet neigbourhood, in the Sydney suburb of Enmore you will find some of the best Lebanese food on the planet. A true "temple of tabouli". This little restaurant packs them in and there are a lot of people that want to eat here. In fact, you get to choose which sitting you want when you book. (I would not risk just showing up!). Its either 6.30 or 8.30 pm. A big long communal table sits right in the centre of the restaurant with a few smaller tables surrounding it. The decorations are tasteful with a very nice colour scheme. I love Middle Eastern food. It is a region very close to Greece and there are many similarities with both the cuisines. I tend to find though, that a lot of Lebanese food here in Sydney has a certain bland "sameness" about it. Emmas definetly changes all that. I was begging for more after each bite and morsel. It was fresh and it felt like I was eating at someone's house as opposed to a restaurant. I cannot rave about it enough. There we

  • THE LOSS OF LIBERTY
(A Poetic Justice Photomontage) Libby Loses LibertyAnother man is destined to lose his freedom, the same water that feeds our wellspring, and we celebrate with the wingless corpse of justice that dots the landscape we move upon searching for an identity. There is no celebration in such loss. This land lays down its lambs for the blade, the blood, awash over our two-headed righteousness, stooped and bleeding, holding tight the country’s sword in one hand and with the other lobs the sinless stone. So, I weep at our oceans of loss. I cry for the world’s demise. Justice is swift- and blind- and stumbling over errant stones. O! There is no delight in our living if we will not see our way!Had we ended this folly long ago our joy might have seemed fitting in this; our fleshy requiem.O! The path needs our joy and it must also have our light!Death. O! Death he does not celebrate without first crushing something! And life. O Life! She does not celebrate living that lunges back again and again
  • Americans will die for liberty Excerpts from a B...
Americans will die for liberty Excerpts from a British writer:We are inclined, in our snobbish way, to dismiss the Americans as a new and vulgar people, whose civilisation has hardly risen above the level of cowboys and Indians. Yet the United States of America is actually the oldest republic in the world, with a constitution that is one of the noblest works of man. When one strips away the distracting symbols of modernity - motor cars, skyscrapers, space rockets, microchips, junk food - one finds an essentially 18th-century country. The sense of entering an older country, and one with a sterner sense of purpose than is found among the flippant and inconstant Europeans, can be enjoyed even before one gets off the plane. On the immigration forms that one has to fill in, one is asked: "Have you ever been arrested or convicted for an offence or crime involving moral turpitude?" Who now would dare to pose such a question in Europe? The very word "turpitude" brings a smile, almost a sneer,
  • Liberty U Terrorist
Just when you think you can sleep well at night knowing that Falwell is no longer able to inspire hate in the populous, one of his rabid fans makes the news forcing you to realize the long lasting effects of his message. According to CNN, a Liberty University Student was arrested after suspicions were raised about a possible plot to detonate explosive devices Tuesday, the day of Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral. According to ABC News the suspect, Mark David Uhl, was upset about an anti-gay group that planned to protest the funeral. On a side note I think there is a dark irony to the fact that one Christian extremist is protesting another Christian extremist for not being extreme enough. While Liberty University does not approve of physical violence, recent events have made me think about the possible ramifications institutions such as Liberty University may have on the future. The willful and deceitful perpetuation of ignorance is not a laughing matter. It stagnates intellectual growth a
  • Taking Children Seriously & the Future of Liberty
This chick kicks ass. TCS: The Final Phase of The Enlightenment Transcript of a speech given at the World Libertarian Conference in London, Ontario, in July, 2000. by: Sarah Fitz-ClaridgeTaking Children Seriously (TCS) is the name of an organisation I founded to promote the libertarian educational philosophy. How can there be such a thing as the libertarian educational philosophy? Aren't parents in a libertarian society free to educate their children in any way they wish? Yes. But that doesn't make every possible choice morally right, or best for the child, or compatible with the survival of the libertarian society. To satisfy these criteria, we must look more deeply than libertarian political philosophy – which is basically about how a society can run without the initiation of physical force. What justifies both libertarian political philosophy and TCS education theory in my opinion is reason – somethi
