You might remember Welcome Wagon, a band that has appeared on both of our label compilations, To Spirit Back the Mews and Mews Too. They are, of course, still around! And you can hear them too, if you're in the New York area, on Friday January 25th. They'll be playing a benefit show at Perch Bar & Cafe to assist a community based HIV/AIDS medical missions project in Addis, Ethiopia. Also playing are Ryan & Megan Simms, Theo Prince, and Andrew Rose Gregory. We hope you'll be there, but if you can't make it, you can donate to the project via Park Slope Church here. Being alive is one of the best thing that can happen to anyone. But it still seems that people are wasting away their life with drugs. It is quite unthinkable that anyone does deal with it as it will not only harm you physically and mentally but also financially. But fortunately,if you are one of the drgu addicts that wishes to have a clean slate in life and start everything afresh,it is very
The scientists from Indiana University School of Medicine have analyzed many scientific researches and disproved 5 widespread medical beliefs. All these myths have to do with the functioning of the human organism.
Myth 1. Hair Grows Faster after Shaving
In particular, the scientists have found out, that contrary to the widespread belief shaving does not make hair darker or grow faster. The illusion of thick hair is created by the blunt hair tips. A hair, which was not cut, has a conical, thin tip.
Myth 2. Drinking 8 Glasses of Water Daily is Necessary
The research results also prejudice the popular belief, that an average human needs to drink eight glasses of water daily. As the scientists have proven, we get enough liquid, if we drink milk, juices, tea or coffee. Moreover, it was found out, that drinking too much water can damage health.
Myth 3. The Hair of the Dead Still Grows
The researchers have also found out the reason of the diffused, but wrong belief, that the hair and nails

Hello Friends! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting my blog, Stock Picks Bob's Advice! As always, please remember that I am an amateur investor, so please remember to consult with your professional investment advisers prior to making any investment decisions based on information on this website.I am continuing to work on a strategy to trade stocks on very short-term basis and also manage my underlying trading account in response to market action. I have allowed myself a single position for a "trade" with the strategy of buying a large position, which for me might be $25,000 or so, compared to my average holding of about $6,000, and then selling most of that position should the stock appreciate or selling the entire position should the stock actually drop in price. I haven't set any firm sale points on either the upside of the downside--but that is my strategy.Furthermore, after a single sale of a holding, including my 'trades', I

A few moments ago, with the market rally appearing to be strong out of the gate with what appears to be a continuation of yesterday's rally, I decided to see if I could add another trade to the portfolio.Looking at the list of top % gainers on the NYSE, I came across Varian (VAR), an old favorite of mine, which closed at $53.57, up $4.47 or 9.10% on the day. I say 'old favorite' because I have written about Varian (VAR) on this blog previously--first writing it up on October 20, 2003, and then revisiting Varian on May 11, 2005. With the market fluctuating and then moving higher after the 'stimulus p

There is a trend within the pharmaceutical industry to buy physicians lunch on a regular basis. Actually not just the physician but the entire office! I knew someday I was going to run into a problem with this but who knew when. I had gotten good at telling those who asked that we did not provide lunch. I hired an assistant to bring some information packets into the city to distribute them among viable prospects. What I didn't know was he had agreed to send me in on a "luncheon". Apparently he did not understand the terminology. So I confirm the appointment that he has set up for me and take off to meet with this physician on Park Ave. As soon as I get there the female physician who looks like Coffee Cake from The Bronx Tale tells me where to put the lunch. Its this moment that I realize whats happening. They expect me to court them in this fashion. Not happening. I don't do lunch. So in a split second I have to make a decision. I take a quick look around and see all the produ

Doctors either have a "bedside manner" or they don't. I remember being told about a top cancer specialist who could not engage with patients, so merely used to tap them on their foot as they lay dying in their bed, look the other way and say "soon be OK old chap". My doctor mate who was his registrar, decided to leave - he couldn't stand working with someone who had no way of empathising with patients. And according to a new study of the way doctors connect with patients, empathy appears to be a significant factor in whether or not we trust our doctors. Sadly, only 15% of doctors tested appear to be able to behave empathetically - it seems that the bulk of them treat us in a biomedical/scientific way. In other words, those doctors who "see" medicine from the scientific perspective are the least liked, they are less trusted - and significantly they tend to have poorer patient outcomes than those who focus on being empathetic. This is yet more evidence that when we see things from our own

I was reading news reports that 911 workers who worked on the cleanup on September 11th in 2001 are still in need of assistants and much more. Breathing in the dirty air that day now are suffering from many health issues and medical problems from all that stress of that day. Now the United States government does not want to take care of the medical needs with not enough federal funding to assist them financially for health care costs. Should be honored like soldiers that volunteered showed such bravery courage in time of sadness, stress and fear. Strength to help others with caring hearts no one asked them to help but they did it because they are special souls. I think that it is so wrong the government will not help them properly, not showing them the respect they deserve. I think the government should take care of these people for rest of there lives. They all should be honored with the respect they deserve as the heroes they truly are. - Books Sept 11th Movies Sept 11th - My Blog 6
