Mi primer Cd comprado por mí, me acuerdo hasta el día de hoy, fue el Nimrod de GreenDay. Me acuerdo que fue escuchar "Hitchin' a Ride" y fue amor a primera audición.Coincidió con una de las primeras veces que fui a Buenos Aires, allá por el 95 o 96, era bastante chica, y sin embargo ni bien lo escuché dije "Ésto va a ser parte del soundtrack de mi vida". No le erré. El "American Idiot" me lo compré un día que salí de una entrevista de trabajo y no había quedado muy feliz, recién había salido (yo de la entrevista, y el cd estaba just released), y quería un poco de rebelión comercial en mi día.Ahora estoy re-escuchando el Nimrod (eventualmente fui consiguiendo los otros cds, desde el Dookie, Insomniac y Kerplunk hasta el International Superhits), y me voy acordando cosas de cuando era gurisa.El otro Cd que marcó una etapa en mi soundtrack fue el S&M de Metallica, dos cds magistralmente hechos, que hasta a mi abuelo que odiaba todo lo que tuviera guitarras eléctrica

Metallica is currently putting their finishing touches on a new album follow-up to 2003's St. Anger.
Don't get me wrong. Metallica has put out some seriously head-bangin' and rockin' material. But after sewing their fan base and all that mess (like their stupid, embarassing acoustic/funk performance the other night), it seems they're releasing their new album for greedy reasons.
It's supposed to be released in spring of 2008 and according to the band,
"These new songs echo some of our stuff from the ’80s - long, epic journeys through different musical landscapes, heavier, but a lot more melodic."
What you mean to say is St. Anger didn't do well so we're repackaging some old stuff.
There was once a time long, long ago in a seemingly far away land when Metallica were passionate and absolutely needed to play the music they did. Now they're a bunch of pricks who have turned their backs on their fans (and good music). I for one would like to see them leave their legacy alone.

Metallica released a blurb on their website about their addition to the upcoming Guitar Hero III song list. You guessed it, "One" will be featured on Legends of Rock.
Do any real guitarist even play Guitar Hero? I don't know. I personally don't have anything against the game, but I will say this, why not play "One" by Metallica for real on a real guitar? ...If you're going to spend all that time on a guitar controller anyway. Real guitars are 8-billion times more awesome.

Lars Ulrich has released some statements about Metallica’s eighth studio album. Metallica is currently rocking out to their fan’s encouragement on-stage, however, earlier this year they began working on new material with the legendary Rick Rubin.
Lars said the backing tracks were finished in May and after the Sick of the Studio tour wraps, they’ll be recording vocals and overdubs in August. The album is expected by February of 2008.
What can we expect?
“It doesn’t sound anything like St. Anger. It’s probably a little more dynamic and a little more varied, and it has lots of different nutty Metallica stuff on it … the songs are quite long,” Ulrich said.
“There’s a couple of bits in there that could be called Eastern, but don’t read too much into that - it’s not an album full of 12 ‘Kashmir’s or anything. But there is some stuff in that direction, sure,” Ulrich said.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden - Metallica may be a cool name for a heavy metal band, but a Swedish couple is struggling to convince officials it is also suitable for a baby girl.
Michael and Karolina Tomaro are locked in a court battle with Swedish authorities, which rejected their application to name their six-month-old child after the legendary rock band.
