Well, things are not going as well as I would like up here on the mountain. my hot water heater on the RV burst, my furnace blower in the RV went out, My Mr heater I bought to heat the RV is not working properly, my drain on the RV is frozen solid, I broke my ATV plow and we are now snowed in because we could not find a snowmobile in time. I have someone in town looking at snowmobiles for me and this weekend my neighbor will take my wife down on his snowmobile for me, very nice of him. As for the other problems I am going to have to figure something out. Obviously, Mr. Heater has to go back to the store for a new one. However, how do I heat the RV over the three days my wife is in town? The water heater can be by-passed because we do not use it anyway, the drain is a difficult problem to figure out as I cannot heat under the RV.To make my day worse, Sean Hannity has lost his mind! Sorry i have not been blogging, but between trying to get my defender fixed, installing stuff on my ATV, building on the buses, cutting firewood, plowing, the holidays (Christmas and New Years) and doing a radio show five nights per week I just have had no time to blog! I am going to make a concerted effort next week to get back o the stick, but stuff happens on the mountain that just sucks up time and by night time i am exhausted. Remember I am chronically ill so all I am doing really takes it out of me. I was pleased to hear another talk radio show say the show takes allot out of him, I thought it was because I was sick, but not so. Well, maybe it makes it worse, I don't know.Always remember, I am here for this great nation and you my loyal readers and listeners. We went to the Buttermilk Trail System this morning. It was about 38 degrees and cloudy. We ended up getting 11.39 miles or ridding today. I have some pics and video to put up next week as soon as I get them. Yester day I was able to get in 9.38 miles so I feel really tired but also good after nearly 21 miles for 2 days!! My Wife bought me a set of Kenda Nevegal 2.35 inch tires for our Wedding anniversary. I installed them lastnight with Mark's assistance. My old tires were 2.2 inch tires.She also bought me a XPORT Splistream 4-Bike 2'' hitch rack for my truck. The rack is made by Thule.I am going to do a ride with Jeff today at Pocahontas Park and them do Buttermilk tomorrow morning with Mark and a few other people. Who wants to do COMM assignments when they can listen to Black Mountain’s newest work and Chuck’s crazy, frantic flapdoodles on NBC Online? Not I, my friends, not I. For the better part of the afternoon, I’ve been alternating between watching episodes of my new favorite TV show, Chuck and listening to those Vancouver rockers we all love, Black Mountain. Black Mountain is set to blow everyone away early 2008 with sophomore album Into The Future released via Jagjaguar on 1.21.08. After giving the LP a few spins, there are definitely some key tracks that any non-fan should listen to. Watch as Black Mountain use simplicity to their advantage, issuing layered instrumentals to construct a breath taking build ups throughout the opus. Don’t call this a review just yet, but Black Mountain have proven that Into The Future will be 2008’s first outstanding releases. We went to Pocahontas Park and we did the Red Trail. IT was fun as we had not ridden it in a long time. The redid a section of the trial and made a Half-Pipe out of it. I saw it and rode it several weeks ago with Mark. I will have some video clips of a few parts of the trial. Jeff brought his camera and we used the video function. After we rode the Red, We went to the Green trial and it was a good fun ride on that trial we had 6.69 miles when we made it back to the Quala Lot. I hope to get some more ridding in this weekend!! I love tossing blue cheese into salads, especially with apples or pears. It is an amazing pairing. I'm always looking for different blues to try even though I've had my favorite (English Blackstick Blue) for years. I recently tried an Italian blue cheese called Mountain Gorgonzola and I was a bit disappointed. It was sharp yet lacked flavor and seemed very 1 dimensional. On FreshDirect's description chart Blue Rating (shown to the right), it looks to be pretty crumbly and is recommended in salads. I have to disagree. It's very sticky and gooey and does not crumble at all, making it very difficult to toss into a salad.If you're making a salad with blue cheese, I recommend English Stilton (safe for guests who may want something more mild), Great Hill Blue, Point Reyes Blue, Thomas Hoe Stevens Stilton (not attractive though), and of course my favorite, English Blackstick Blue.
We did Poco Red and Blue today and ended up with 8.84. SO for the weekend, I have a total of 24.49 miles over 3 rides. My legs are very sore for the activity but I feel very good and it was freaking cold, 36 degrees when we hit the trial head!!
