I'm not a huge fan of the NBA and I don't particularly care for NBA All-Star weekend. I do however, frequently tune in for the dunk contest. I think this year's contest could be a lot of fun and I just wanted to chime in real quick on my thoughts on the contest and find out who everyone else thinks will be this year's champ.This year's contest features a great field of defending champ Gerald Green, Rudy Gay, Dwight Howard, and Jamario Moon. Jordan, who won six NBA titles with the Chicago Bulls, is trying to translate his success to those youngsters. The workout came a day after Jordan sat in on team meetings and film sessions as the Bobcats try to end a stretch of 10 losses in 12 games under first-year coach Sam Vincent. Before the 2007 - 2008 season was started, I do believe that the Houston Rockets has really done something to improve. They have replaced head coach Jeff Van Gundy with Rick Adelman, which made me believed that Rockets’ games will become more and more interesting. They have traded in Steve Francis, Mike James, and even world’s MVP Luis Scola, which made me believed that they are going towards NBA titles. Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady are healthier than last two seasons, which made me believed that they are ready to lead their team into another level.Two months have gone, Houston Rockets are now 12-12 and standing out of the top eight teams in Western Conference. Surprisingly Golden State Warriors and LA Lakers are performing better than them. I used to download Houston’s games; but I’ve turned myself into Boston Celtics fans recently. WINNERSPortland TrailblazersSo obviously they are huge winners in getting Oden but they really took it a step further. I absolutely love the deal they swung with the Knicks sending Zack Randolph out East for Steve Francis (once dubbed "Franchise") and Channing Frye. Francis will start at PG while Frye adds depth to the front court. Even though Randolph is a great player he was going to get logjammed with Aldridge and Oden so that was a great move. Portland's starting 5 will be young and tremendous next year and for years to come. This is what I'm looking at for their starting 5: Francis, Roy, Aldridge, Oden, and maybe Frye or Jack. Are the Cavs ready for their biggest test yet?Well it's NBA Finals time and this year we have the San Antonio Spurs vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers. We all know who the favorite is here but no one can leave out King James and Co.Individually, the Spurs have a huge advantage. So last night I was driving home from my girlfriend's house around 1:20ish AM and I was listening to ESPN 710 (Bismarck). Let it be known right now before I slam what I heard that I don't like ESPN Radio in the first place. I like Mike & Mike in the Morning and The Dan Patrick Show but that's about it.
