EA extends NFL license into 2012 seasonFiled under: NewsToday, industry powerhouse, Electronic Arts announced that it would be extending its exclusive licensing agreement with the National Football League and NFL Players Club until the end of the 2012 season, leading into early 2013. Sports gamers may remember 2004 when EA purchased the exclusive rights to produce NFL licensed games from under the competition, namely 2K Games. The Madden series from EA continues to be a successful brand, as the 20-year-old franchise has accounted for over $2 billion in sales alone. After the announcement, former Xbox head honcho turned EA Sports president, Peter Moore said, "Game quality is our top priority, and we're committed to pushing our gameplay innovation, connecting football fans via rich online experiences and delivering the most visually stunning sports games on the market." To be honest we're when someone going to buy the license for the lucrative Curling market, that's like an excuse t
EA Extends NFL Exclusivity Until 2013 EA has extended its exclusive licensing deal with the NFL until 2013, which means that EA games will be the only ones to feature genuine NFL players, teams, and stadiums for the next five years. In addition to giving EA the sole rights to develop, publish, and distribute NFL-based games for everything that draws current, the deal also gives EA access to content from NFL Films and the NFL Network. Rumor has it they also get John Facenda frozen in carbonite. Though other football games have found creative ways around EA's exclusivity, such as All-Pro Football's use of retired NFL players or Blitz the League's fictional teams, it's hard to ignore the advantage that the NFL license gives to the Madden games. This year marks the-- get ready to feel old, people -- 20th anniversary of the Madden franchise. Go have a turducken to celebrate. Link - Tue, 12 Feb 2008 08:01:19 GMT - Feed (2 subs) Sent using Send

The New England Patriots perfect season was shockingly broken by the New York Giants.
Eli Manning orchestrated an amazing last minute game winning drive to win 17-14 in Super Bowl XLII. That drive was capped off with a 13 yard touch down to wide receiver Plaxico Burress. Burress boldly guaranteed a Giants win before the game, and [...]

NFC CHAMPIONSHIPNY Giants at GB PackersIt has been almost a decade since my dad and I got to watch a Packer game this important and I couldn't be more excited! When I look at Giants’ newfound success it seems hard to pinpoint just because it’s so newfound and a little mysterious. When I look at their game against Dallas I find it necessary to mention the fact that they only ran 44 offensive plays in a game. That is ridiculously low. Their longest drive was eight plays long and ended in a punt. Their time of possession was 23:30. The Cowboys actually outgained them by over 100 yards. The G-Men were efficient on offense and scored touchdowns instead of field goals, with no turnovers. But they won with defense, especially that nasty pass rush that had Romo so rattled in the fourth quarter. The Packers can shut down everything the Giants did well in the Divisional Round. You think Charles Woodson and Al Harris won't eat Little Manning for dinner? Do you think the Packers will sacrifice
