Ajay Devgan has turned director with U, Me aur Hum. It will be a family show with Kajol and Ajay Devgan starring in the film. If reports and rumors are to be believed, U, Me aur Hum has been inspired by the Hollywood hit The Notebook. The script of the movie The Notebook is an adaptation of the novel ‘The Notebook’ written by Nicholas Spark. It is an epic romance of an old man who reads out from an old pale notebook to an old handicapped woman whom he regularly visits. The old man tells her of the story of a couple who were separated by World War II, and then reunited seven years later. Although her memory has given way, the words of the elder man awakens her to the cherished love they used to share. It remains to be seen how they have incorporated Indian elements in U, Me aur Hum. The mood of U, Me aur Hum is romantic with humor ingrained throughout the movie. Apart from the lead cast, th movie also stars Isha Sharvani, Sumeet Raghavan and Divya Dutta. Incidentally, the musi

My aging little HP laptop is starting to show its age. Recently the fan rumbled and made a clinking sound. The fan runs noisily with a tinny sound that can be heard across the room. My hard drive squeaks from time to time, although this has been going on for some time now. And the monitor goes black from time to time (I think it may be a short-circuit with the connection to the computer itself). Obviously, I have to backup my stuff every night, for fear it will bite the dust before the next morning. It's been a pretty reliable little laptop for the 5 or 6 years I've had it. I use it like my right arm. It's on all day, and I use it for graphics design, web design, and writing, as well as playing videos. The battery life is shot (lasts me 20 minutes), and the power cord is twisted and mangled. A few dead pixels blot my screen. But it keeps on ticking. However, I have been saving my pennies and dimes to get a new one. I do not want this one to die before I have another on hand. I work from
We spend a lot of our time here at TR evaluating cutting-edge hardware, but not because we're particularly drawn to extremely expensive components. Rather, it's the fact that new technologies tend to debut at the high end before trickling downstream to more affordable mid-range parts. We also spend a great deal of time playing with those mid-range products, combing through their ranks in search for that perfect intersection of price and performance—the glorious sweet spot. It's a little odd, then, to be sitting in front of Asus' Eee PC sub-notebook. With a Celeron ULV processor chugging along at 630MHz, GMA 900 integrated graphics powering a 800x480 display, 512MB of RAM, and just 4GB of internal storage capacity, the Eee PC's specs are hardly awe-inspiring. In fact, this may be the first system we've ever reviewed that's slower than Jessica Simpson. And unlike Jessica, the Eee PC isn't a knockout, either. So at first blush, it's a little hard to see what all the fuss is about. Sure,
Micro-Star International (MSI) is planning to challenge an on-year growth of 100% for its notebook shipments in 2008, while gross margins for its own-brand notebooks will remain above 15%, according to sources at the company.Currently, MSI's own-brand notebooks occupy 60-70% of the company's total notebook shipments and with its gross margin a lot higher compared to the typical 5-6% of other first-tier notebook ODMs, the company's performance is doing rather well. With MSI's own-brand notebooks ranked among the top-five in Turkey and the Ukraine, as well as showing strong performance in the Asia Pacific and Taiwan markets, the company will be more aggressive over its worldwide own-brand notebook lineup and will challenge total notebook shipments of 1.8-2 million units in 2008, while own-brand notebooks will break one million units, the sources detailed. In additional news, MSI also hopes to increase own-brand server shipments to reach 50% of the company's total server shipments next yea
