General boards poll reveals the obviousFiled under: Paladin, Warlock, Analysis / Opinion, Blizzard, News items, Instances, Burning Crusade, Lore, Wrath of the Lich King, Forums Friday afternoon, Blizzard employee Bornakk posted a poll on the General boards to find our favorite 5-man dungeon of the Burning Crusade. As you can see in the above image, the Caverns of Time is rocking the charts. I can't say I disagree with the numbers there, they're pretty close to my opinions as well. Old Hillsbrad and the Black Morass offer something that most of the other instances don't: Fast pacing, minimal trash pulls, and a story element. The instances aren't very long, either. Black Morass is what, thirty minutes? These dungeons on Heroic remain difficult and dangerous, adding some new elements to the instance, such as a necessity for speed and stealth when it comes to the patrols in Old Hillsbrad. Some of the other Heroics do this as well, but most of them coast along on 'ow this mob hurts a l
I try to keep the level of snark quite high on TWFE, but I'm not feeling it today. There's no link dump today either, as it's truly the quiet before the storm. The storm being the "Mitchell report."Today's release of the report that will (supposedly) expose the seamy underside of that was baseball in the 90's, thanis to the out-of-control, rampant use of PED's, has me feeling quite melancholy.I've stated on TWFE before that baseball will always be number 1 with me. I love other sports, especially the NFL and NCAA football, but I've had a closer relationship with baseball than with any other sport.I'm sure most of you are like me. Baseball was the first team sport you played, and also the last. I played the baseball in some sort of organized fashion from the age of 6 on, all through school, and then softball into my late 30's. I can't say that about an other sport.I can say the same about my sports fandom, The Detroit Tigers were the first team I religiously followed. The first team I
This is an off-topic post that I felt could not be missed. The Register wrote today about a type of email spam that is extremely common and rather obvious BUT surprisingly it appears some Internet users are still falling for it. The article is worth the read if you have any concerns about what emails to read or not to read.In ShortEmails that promise free games, windows security patches or updates, nude celebrity pictures, or anything that seems out of the ordinary should be deleted immediately.A source in the Register article "recommends PC users do not open executable files attached to email messages from addresses they do not recognise or trust and to 'refrain from opening any message that purports to feature nude celebrities'."So what is the big deal? After all it is just spam!? NO, when anyone opens this spam and clicks a link within it a malware program may be installed into the user's computer at which time the computer is added to a network of machines used to quietly send out

The age old question of whether or not money can actually buy happiness has finally been answered scientifically - at least for Brits
A research team from the University of London surveyed 10,000 English about their happiness level, as well as wealth, health & social relations. They were then ranked from 1-7 depending on their “life satisfaction.” Apparently friendships & social relationships are important too, just not nearly as interesting.
In related news, my research team is seeking a generous grant to study the Money vs. Happiness scenario as it relates to US citizens, specifically those living in Green Bay, WI. More specifically, those living in my house. If you have a spare, say, $2 million you’d like to donate to the cause, I am we are excited to get started on our exhaustive study.
