Super Stardust HD overhaul coming soonFiled under: Rumors, Game Patches Some European PSN users have stumbled across an item on the store which, it seems, ought not to be there. The Super Stardust HD update doesn't appear for everyone, but those who do see it noticed there's a large "Coming Soon" slapped across the image. But what could an update to SSHD contain? Isn't it already amazing enough as it is? The item's description is a fantasy wishlist of desirable features, including improved graphics and sound, new game modes, split screen multiplayer, a ship editor and clan support. Clan support? How exactly that will work we have no idea, but it does give us the impression that our favourite dual analogue shooter will be heading online when the update hits. Sounds good to us - a little too good. Make of the above image what you will, we're going to remain cautiously optimistic for now, even if it is just wishful thinking. • House Votes to Embrace Ethics Overhaul
WASHINGTON (AP) - The House voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to make lawmakers disclose more details of their efforts to fund pet projects and raise money from lobbyists, responding to a rash of recent scandals. The Democratic-drafted legislation followed cases that sent two GOP lawmakers and a big-time lobbyist to prison and saw a House Democrat charged with bribery. Senate leaders hope to give it final passage this week, even as the chamber’s most senior Republican faces questions about Monday’s federal raid of his home as part of a bribery probe in Alaska. The bill, which the House passed 411-8, would require lawmakers to disclose those lobbyists who raise $15,000 or more for them within a six-month period by “bundling” donations from many people. The requirement would cover party-affiliated campaign committees as well. What a marvelous idea, to enact legislation that would make our esteemed Senators and Congresscritters adhere to something called honesty, what
  • OVERHAUL FOR BLAST FURNACE SET TO START
Corus starts work on a multi-million pound boost for its Port Talbot steelworks today.Hundreds of staff and contractors will be involved in the £3.5 million overhaul of the site’s newest blast furnace. It was opened in 2002 to replace the doomed furnace that suffered irreparable damage in an explosion the previous year, which killed three men and seriously injured a dozen others. Corus strip products general works manager Jon Ferriman said: “Port Talbot’s newest blast furnace is one of the top five blast furnaces of the 57 similar facilities in Europe. “The furnace is already extremely efficient, but this work, carried out in an intense period during the week, will improve the potential output by more than 100,000 tonnes a year.” Corus said the project would involve around 250 workers, as well as a host of South Wales-based contractors. It involves improving the key conveyors, the raw material handling and feed facilities and the gas plant. “All thi

  • Blog overhaul required
Next on my list of blogs to review is Anylees' Wonderful. I don't want to be rude but I cringed when I opened the blog. The reason - it is the generic Blogger template that I hate the most. Nothing against the designer or against the blogger but light green dots is not just my thing. I am not really fond of that red colored font either as it makes it hard to read the posts. My suggestion to Anylee is to get a brand new template with a nice header. Most of the posts are short and few are quite interesting. As I have always pointed out, longer original posts tend to get more comments. Some pictures to go with the blog would be a good idea. Yeah! This is true for my own blogs too. I keep telling myself that I should have an image to go with each post but so far ....
  • Headline Animator Overhaul, Part 4
The newest installment of the heroic Headline Animator overhaul series highlights three new additions designed to help you build your online audience by increasing exposure of your content, making that content easily "shareable," and tracking how people are engaging with it. In a nutshell, Mr. Powers, it's really what we do around here. Create and Store Multiple Headline Animators An easy way to increase the exposure of your content is to place it in more places, and nothing says "I have so much more to give" like Headline Animator at the bottom of your emails, on your MySpace page, on forum posts, or on your friend Hendrick's blog. Heck, you can even create an IAB-standard ad unit powered by the content in your feed and place it in an ad network for blogs and feeds. Before today, only one Headline Animator format per feed was allowed. Now? A world without limits! Style up your content to fit its intended destination and store multiple versions with each feed in your FeedBurner ac
