Since the Election Day debacle of 2004, we’ve kept track of committed support for various presidential contenders, indicated by sales of Election 2008 bumper stickers, magnets, campaign buttons, t-shirts and yard signs. While polls measure fickle opinions, our measure tracks the stronger commitment marked by the laying down of cash to promote a candidate [...]

It is interesting to see that most of those who replied use a telescope. 11/31votes were given to telescope, which is 35% of all votes. 8/31 votes were given to binoculars, which means that 26% of those [...]
Harris Interactive has conducted a poll that reveals some interesting things about jury duty and jury trials in America.
Here are some of the key findings:
A majority (65%) of Americans have been called to jury duty, but only a quarter actually served on a jury.
3 out of 5 Americans believe juries can be fair and impartial [...]
I find something interesting though. The question that is being asked is, "Which candidate do you believe would be the best president"? Yet, that is not how people are voting. Before Fred Thompson and Duncan Hunter dropped out, they were the top two choices. Now that they have dropped out, all of a sudden Romney, McCain, and Huckabee are surging ahead. Seriously sheeple, we should never be in this predicament. For the new poll, I will drop Giuliani, Thompson, and Hunter from the poll. I will add to the poll, Write-In, Third party, or stay home. For those of you choosing to write-in or vote third party, leave a comment stating which candidate you picked. I may add those candidates to the new poll in two weeks.

General boards poll reveals the obviousFiled under: Paladin, Warlock, Analysis / Opinion, Blizzard, News items, Instances, Burning Crusade, Lore, Wrath of the Lich King, Forums Friday afternoon, Blizzard employee Bornakk posted a poll on the General boards to find our favorite 5-man dungeon of the Burning Crusade. As you can see in the above image, the Caverns of Time is rocking the charts. I can't say I disagree with the numbers there, they're pretty close to my opinions as well. Old Hillsbrad and the Black Morass offer something that most of the other instances don't: Fast pacing, minimal trash pulls, and a story element. The instances aren't very long, either. Black Morass is what, thirty minutes? These dungeons on Heroic remain difficult and dangerous, adding some new elements to the instance, such as a necessity for speed and stealth when it comes to the patrols in Old Hillsbrad. Some of the other Heroics do this as well, but most of them coast along on 'ow this mob hurts a l

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The Kremlin front-runner in Russia's presidential election, Dmitry Medvedev, has the backing of 82 percent of voters with six weeks left before the vote, an opinion poll published on Wednesday showed. Medvedev, Russia's first deputy prime minister who was named last month by Putin as his favoured successor, has seen his popularity rise 3 percentage points since December, according to the poll by independent pollsters, Levada. The figures shows Medvedev even further ahead than a separate VTsIOM poll published a day earlier, which gave Medvedev 60 percent support. The Levada poll put Communist leader Gennady Zyuganov in second place with 9 percent support, unchanged on its December poll. Nationalist Vladimir Zhirinovsky was in third spot with 8 percent, down one. Unlike the VTsIOM poll, Levada excluded voters who did not know how they will vote, which may have accounted in part for the stronger Medvedev showing. The poll was carried out on Jan. 18-21, and ques
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Arizona Sen. John McCain rose to the top of Republican presidential pack in California, with former front-runner Rudy Giuliani's popularity down sharply, according to the latest Field Poll released on Wednesday. Former New York City Mayor Giuliani had led the poll in the nation's most populous state as recently as last month with 25 percent support, but saw his standing drop to 11 percent, tied for third with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. In the Field Poll of 377 likely Republican voters, 22 percent said they favored McCain and 18 percent preferred former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The poll, taken Jan. 14-20, had a sampling error of plus or minus 5.2 percentage points. Giuliani, who gained national prominence after the Sept. 11 attacks, had led in national polls before the state-by-state contests that began this month to choose a Republican presidential nominee for the November election. He has fared poorly in the early contests, preferring
Very quickly, the race for the Democratic presidential nomination is expanding to a national level, as each of the remaining contenders gazes at an empty wallet and gulps at the prospect of 22 states in which voting will occur simultaneously. Why, it’s almost as if candidates will lose control of the process and Americans [...]

TOKYO (Reuters) - Support for Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda's government has risen over the past month, though nearly half of respondents said the passage of a law to restart an Afghan naval mission was inappropriate, a poll showed on Saturday. The approval rating for the cabinet rose 6.1 percentage points from last month to 41.4 percent, according to the telephone opinion poll conducted by Kyodo news agency on Friday and Saturday. It had fallen more than 11 percent the previous month. Still, the poll showed the number of those opposed to the cabinet was more than the supporters, accounting for 42.8 percent. According to the poll, 46.7 percent of the respondents said the passage of a law on Friday to restart the Afghan naval mission was inappropriate. Japan's government forced the law through parliament to resume a controversial naval mission in support of U.S.-led operations in Afghanistan, keeping a promise to security ally Washington. The opposition-controlled upper

In the Iowa Caucuses of January 3 2008, support for Barack Obama bloomed over the still-considerable support for John Edwards and Hillary Clinton in the second round, when those who had supported candidates such as Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, Dennis Kucinich and Bill Richardson shifted their support. Some of that support went to John [...]

All political parties in North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), except the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F), have condemned the six-week delay in the general elections that have now been slated for February 18. The Pakistan Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday postponed the polls, which were earlier scheduled for January 8, citing large-scale violence and rioting in the country following former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's assassination. Condemning the delay in polls, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Provincial President Pir Sabir Shah said that the delay was meant to provide more time to the PML-Q to revive its image, which it had lost following Benazir's death. Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) NWFP spokesperson Khwaja Yawar Naseer said that the government, which is "already involved in pre-poll rigging," was "frightened" after Benazir's death and "adopted the postponement option to create hurdle
Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday justified the postponement of the polls to February 18 by stating that the prevailing condition was not at all conducive to hold the elections in the wake of large scale rioting and violence that followed the assassination of former premier Benazir Bhutto. "What we achieved in Sindh in last six to seven years were damaged in the just two days," Musharraf lamented during his televised address to the nation this evening, and added that several offices of the Election Commission (EC) were ransacked due to which the EC was not able to hold election on schedule. He said that he has directed the caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro to appoint a commission that would identify the people responsible for ransacking and violence in country, especially in Sindh, which happens to be Benazir's home province. Alleging that he could see a 'communal and political overtone in all the violent incidents', Musharraf warned: "We cannot

Here is the results from the latest New Hampshire poll, just one week away from the primary.
McCain tops Romney 31 to 25 percent, Rudy Giuliani polled third at 14 percent; Mike Huckabee, 9 percent; Ron Paul, 6 percent; Fred Thompson, 2 percent; Alan Keyes, 1 percent
McCain’s surge continues, as he now holds a lead in [...]
Duncan Hunter 21% Fred Thompson 19% Mike Huckabee 15% Rudy Giuliani 14% Mitt Romney 13% John McCain 10% Tom Tancredo 5% I don't know why these don't equal 100%, but such is the blogger polling widget. I was debating between cutting it down to the top 3 or top 5. I think I will leave it like it is for the first quarter of 2008, but will remove Tancredo and add "any Democrat", just to see how many of them read this blog. Of course; I will not be including "Mr. White Supremacist" Ron Paul again.
In what should be the last poll of 2007, both parties show a dead heat. With just over a week before the New Hampshire primary both races are heating up.
For the Democrats:
Hillary Clinton’s support is down by 7 percent since ARG’s December 16 to 19 survey. Obama is up 3 percent, to 24 and John [...]
