Who would have thunk? Analysts and wannabe prognosticators are paid to look into their crystal balls and predict the future, so it's not surprising they get it so wrong, so often. What's surprising is that they sometimes get to right. That said, let's look at some of the Apple predictions that have turned out so wrong.
EastAtlantic1. Boston CelticsYeah, so have you heard of the new and improved Celtics? They are now a team that has 3 superstars and should lead them deep into the playoffs. Those 3 are Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce. They're mixed with veterans and young talent, but the PG position could be a problem; Can Rajon Rondo handle the job of being the point man everyday in this league? 2. New Jersey NetsThe Nets have a very good perimeter game with Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson. But the question is will their big men be able to stay healthy? If Nenad Krstic can do that he should be able to put up some eye-catching numbers; I feel he is a very underrated player.3. Toronto RaptorsThe Raptors made the playoffs last year and their playoff hopes are still very strong. Chris Bosh is leading the way and Andrea Bargnani should impress. I think their bench was a big reason why they made the playoffs and if they can produce again I don't see why they shouldn't be back.4. Ne

Utah JazzDeron Williams is looking to be a great PG in this league and is surrounded with some pretty good talent. As long as Carlos Boozer stays healthy they should be a contender. Colorado Rockies vs. Boston Red SoxI've been pretty accurate in my predictions of the MLB Playoffs thus far and I would like to conclude it with a Rockies over Red Sox in 7 games prediction. Truly, I feel like the Red Sox have the edge in pitching (both starting and bullpen). However, the Rockies' pitching has been surprisingly brilliant this year and I don't see it stopping now.I've said it before and I'll say it again. This year's Rockies club is reminding me a lot of the 2003 Florida Marlins....but maybe even better. Winning 21 of 22 games is what I like to classify as MAJOR momentum.Like I said, the pitching match up is a slight edge to the Red Sox, but not as much as some may think. As far as offense is concerned I think the Red Sox have a very microscopic advantage (it's really tough not to give them the slight edge when they have both Manny and Papi). 1) Phoenix Suns - With all the angst from last season, these guys have got a big chip on their shoulder that should translate to the best record in the league.

They feel a lot to me like 2003 Marlins. They got hot at the right time and they're riding it right now. Depending on what kind of starts the Rockies get out of their pitching I feel like they could potentially end it sooner than 6 games but I feel like 6 is a safe pick. With my Brewers no longer playing all I can say is GO ROCKIES!ALCSBoston Redsox over Cleveland Indians in 7 gamesThe Redsox have the advantage (in my opinion) in starting pitching, bullpen, offense, and fielding. However, the margin's aren't huge and the Indians are playing very good baseball. I just don't see Cleveland being able to win the series when Boston gets Beckett going twice. EaglesThe Eagles have McNabb coming back and Brian Westbrook will always give you a shot at winning the division. Not to mention that they have above-average receiver depth and a stellar defense. I like the Eagles this year....as long as McNabb can stay healthy.2. CowboysI thought the Cowboys were heading in the right direction under Parcells for a while...then they stalled. Romo will be the outright starter and they are very deep in offensive skill positions (mainly WR and RB). I think they are a abover-average team defensively. They have some really good players but their secondary is a bit of a weak spot. Throw in a new headcoach and I just don't think they have enough to surpass the Eagles.3. With the NFL Season only two days away, it seems proper to do some predictions.East1. Patriots Definitely the most talented team and best coached team in NFL. The WR corps will be very solid after adding Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, and Wes Walker. Now that Corey Dillon is gone, I believe Laurence Maroney will be one of the top rushers in the AFC and should get plenty of carries and yards if he can stay healthy. The Defense is one of the best in the league which includes the best defensive front along with new addition at LB in Roosevelt Colvin.2. JetsThe Jets are primed to show everyone that last year was no fluke. The Jets have plenty of question marks. Who knows who the starting QB will be by the end of the season. I would like to quickly offer you my predictions for tonight's State Farm Home Run Derby before I head off to Ming's to watch. Obviously I'll be cheering for Prince hardcore tonight but he's not my pick to win it. I know there are a lot of really great lefties (Prince included) who are going to be making a few splashes out towards right. However, I'm going to go against my heart, and against the grain and go with a gut shot in saying that I think Albert Pujols will win the Derby this year.My number two guy would have to be Howard just because he won last year, is a lefty, and doesn't have to do any of the ASB festivities being as he isn't an all-star. Prophecy is a difficult subject for me, not because I think it’s not possible, but simply because there are so many false voices out there that a lot of disinformation and propaganda gets let in through the open doors. Are the Cavs ready for their biggest test yet?Well it's NBA Finals time and this year we have the San Antonio Spurs vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers. We all know who the favorite is here but no one can leave out King James and Co.Individually, the Spurs have a huge advantage. The only place where the Cavs have an advantage is with Lebron at SF and a slight advantage at center with Zyndrunas Illgauskas over Fabricio Oberto. But Tim Duncan makes it up at PF.
