NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Indian Oil Corp said on Monday it would invest 90 billion rupees ($2.27 billion) to produce petrol and diesel that will meet tighter regulations due to come into force from April 2010. Under India's auto fuel policy, 13 major cities will be running on Euro IV-compliant diesel and petrol by then, while the rest of the country must have switched over to Euro III fuels. To improve diesel quality, IOC will commission a "once-through" hydrocracker at its Haldia refinery in eastern India and a new hydrotreater at its Gujarat refinery. It also plans to install additional reactors in diesel hydrotreatment units at refineries in Panipat and Barauni by December 2009, IOC's director of refineries, B.N. Bankapur, was quoted as saying in a company statement. IOC has also initiated various petrol quality improvement projects at all its refineries. These projects are expected to be commissioned by December 2009, the firm said in the statement without elaborating.

I don’t normally go to the Northside Produce Markets, simply because I never wake up early enough to get to them. And besides the drive to get to these markets is the same route I take to get to work and it just pains me to go even remotely that way on my days off. I like to stay as far away as I can from the vicinity of my workplace whenever possible. Anyway, I did happen to be at these markets as I was picking up some product for some photography work I am doing and managed to get some snaps of the place while I was at it. The sun was out and the morning was just starting to warm up. I quickly unravel the scarf around my neck, take off my jacket and eagerly snap away. I have to say though, that these markets are a lot harder to manoeuvre around than the Pyrmont ones. The thoroughfares are a lot narrower and it seems that the newest accessory around is a stroller.
