Railways have already started making its stations Wi-Fi enabled. “The trains linking metros would be made Wi-Fi enabled in the first phase. This would help executives to utilise their travel time in a productive way. The work would start with all Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains and then extend to other express and superfast trains,” an official in the Rail Bhawan said. It is expected that in the forthcoming Budget rail minister may make an announcement in this regard. To start with, the service will be launched on the Delhi-Amritsar and Delhi-Bhopal routes of Shatabdi Express. The idea of the pipeline has been floating around for over a decade, but conflict in Afghanistan has hampered efforts to embark on the project which aims to export Turkmen natural gas to Pakistan and India. The Asian Development Bank (ADB), which has conducted a feasibility study into the project, is organising a meeting in Islamabad to discuss potential Turkmen gas prices and other technicalities, the source said. "Signing a general agreement, including the price for Turkmen gas, will be on the agenda," the source said. Sources in Pakistan's Ministry of Law have accused India of adopting delaying tactics in signing the landmark tripartite Gas Sales Purchase Agreement (GSPA), involving Iran, Pakistan and India. Pakistan claims that it has been inviting India to hold the talks for settling the issues of the transit fee for gas transportation, but says the latter has never responded. Sources further said Pakistan had offered to talk about the transit fee on February 7 in Islamabad, but India neither declined nor accepted the offer. Pakistan and Iran may sign the Gas Sales Purchase Agreement (GSPA) in Tehran at the end of February on the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project. The Daily Times quoted sources as saying that Iran has proposed February 24 as the date for the signing of the pact. Pakistan had earlier proposed January 25 as the date for signing of the GSPA on the IPI in Abu Dhabi.
