The word, root, in Australia may mean many things, but the certain thing is that we Australian's often laugh when Americans use the word in the following sentences (as some of us laugh when the word 'thong' or 'thongs' are used. A thong, to us, is half a pair of 'flip-flops'):

I'm typing this entry from work with shakyass hands and a Terror plastered on my face. Getting a root canal today @ 4:00pm, going to Vitaldent cuz they apparently have a guy there who specializes and can knock it out fast. I'm freaking out.
