Apple's very own browser, Safari's beta refresh is released with version 3.0.4. Version 3.0.3 was given with Digit DVD this month. The last version had very high memory usage, and perhaps on my system only, crashed every here and there. Although i didn't liked it much but its response time is very good. On my Vista system, it open websites atleast 2.5x faster then IE and Maxthon and atleast 1.5x times Firefox. I dont use Opera for some personal dislikes.But i am very much pleased with this latest release. Crashes are reduced very much and it is running quiet stably for last 2 days with about 2.5 hours of browsing 2 times a day without closing it, ie. i hibernated my system. Speed is as good as previous one. Memory usage has been reduced considerably. Its using between 52 to 68 MB normally, although sometimes it still goes as high as 138MB!!! but this comes to normal after sometime. I guess this department needs some more thought by Apple engineers.Although untill now, i preferred Maxth

El código utilizado para renderizar páginas web está basado en el motor KHTML, creado para el proyecto KDE. Safari, el famoso navegador de Apple ha tenido gran aceptación en Windows, y a pesar de algunos errores críticos que han aparecido desde su lanzamiento (hace tres días) Apple ya sacó actualizaciones para los respectivos errores. Estos provocaban conflictos en cuanto a interfaz de usuario y seguridad principalmente.
De acuerdo con Apple, Safari fué descargado más de un millón de veces en las primeras 48 horas, lo que significa la aceptación que mencionaba al principio.
Llevo cuatro años con Mac, usaba Firefox, pero despues me cambie a Safari por la rapidez, el manejo correcto de los estandares web (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG y Java) y por que siendo de Apple, esperaba lo mejor, y lo encontré. Ahora que salió esta versión Beta para Windows y surgierón todos estos conflictos se me hizó extraño, pero nada es perfecto y esperemos que los usuarios Windows puedan disfrutar este navegador, que fué el browser que pasó primero la prueba del Acid2.
Pues finalmente, logré instalar Safari. La velocidad de navegación es más alta que Internet Explorer y Mozilla Firefox, y realmente las páginas se interpretan muy rápido. Me parece que tiene una interfaz sencilla, sin alardes y que lo deja todo para el buen rendimiento y el contenido de las páginas. Seguiré probando y os contaré, pero la verdad es que va bastante bien y estoy contento.

Ayer anunciaba Apple que lanzaba Safari para Windows. Emocionado yo, me lo descargué; aunque no tenga mi MacBook todavía, no veía motivo para no bajarlo y ponerlo para sentirme algo “maquero”. La primera en la frente: Safari sólo funciona si tienes Windows con el último Service Pack instalado No contento, esta mañana me lo he instalado en el PC de la oficina; inicialmente emoción… La segunda en la frente: Safari detecta que está tras un proxy y automáticamente te pide el usuario y la contraseña. Tras meterlos y pulsar Aceptar: castañazo de Windows… ¿alguien (PC) ha podido instalarlo y usarlo? ¿Le va bien?… en fin, o me paso al Service Pack último, o me temo que me quedo sin Safari :-(
