Nowadays, there are a number of mortgage scams and the number of people getting victimized has increased.Who are susceptible to home loan scams? Mortgage scam experts usually effectively target those who are desperate to get a mortgage by all means or those who are not well-informed. These include those with bad credit, the elderly, the minority, those who have low income, virtually anyone who wants financial relief without being aware of what they are getting into. How many times have you read an article that professes to be a review on the home business opportunity that you are considering, only to find it's an advertisement for another opportunity? Truth be told, most authors have their own home business or cash cow that they would like you to be a part of, just to be clear, I am no different. You will find reviews on Passport To Wealth, EDC Gold, Perfect Wealth Formula, Liberty League International and just about any other business or MLM that you are investigating. Problem is, they are all biased. Much of what you read on the internet is an opinion from someone who is looking to offer you something else. Yes, I am an internet entrepreneur, and I too would be biased if I wrote an article on another business. So, reviews written by anybody who has a vested interest in you not joining another company are not to be trusted. Their motives for writing the reviews are not for your benefit, but the authors. I am not telling you that the authors are ly
By Catherine Holahan Ah, the holidays -- that most wonderful time of year when the Web is aflutter with e-mailed season's greetings, online shopping offers and cyber criminals. The scams run the gamut, from fraudulent e-mails purporting to be alerts about online transactions to scam gift offers. "There is always an effort by the criminal underground to separate victims from their money this time of year," says Paul Ferguson, an advanced threat researcher with Trend Micro, a security software provider.Cybercriminals know it's easier to get people to fall for scams related to online shopping when they have shopping on the brain. It also doesn't hurt that the legitimate act of online shopping often involves visits to comparison-shopping sites and strange discount sites. So it's little surprise that some of those destinations turn out to be fake. "People are particularly vulnerable this time of year because they are looking for bargains," says Bill Loesch, chief technical officer and co-fo

Most mortgage lenders are trustworthy and provide a valuable service by allowing families to own a home without saving enough money to buy it outright. But dishonest or "predatory" lenders do exist and engage in lending practices that increase the chances that a borrower will lose a home to foreclosure. Beware especially of those who make high risk second mortgages. Other abusive practices include:Making a mortgage loan to an individual who does not have the income to repay it.Charging excessive interest, points and fees.Repeatedly refinancing a loan without providing any real value to the borrower.Borrowers facing unemployment and/or foreclosure are often targets of predatory lenders because they are desperate to find any "solution". Homeowners receive many refinance offers in the mail saying they are "pre-approved" for credit based on the equity in their homes. Borrowing against your house may seem attractive when you are struggling to pay your mortgage and other bills. But stop and

Land Banking can be a good alternative form of investing into Real Estate. I personally have invested into Land Banking after doing my homework and due diligence. However, before you invest, make sure you do your homework and avoid investing into possible Land Banking Scams. You need to acquire the Financial Literacy to differentiate a Real Deal from a Sham.Let me give you some examples. For instance, a foreigner CANNOT own land in India and/or China. Thus, if someone try to sell you some land in these 2 countries, make sure you don't invest, it is likely to be a scam. Canada allows foreigners to invest in land though. You can check and verify this yourself. Even Singapore does NOT allow a foreigner to invest in land.if someone approach you to invest in Land in UK, but the land is in "Green Belt" (land reserved for nature and NOT for any building or construction), please don't invest also for obvious reasons. However, what shocks me is that there are people in Singapore selling land in Gre

Many people decide at a certain moment that it is time for them to quit the 9 to 5 job and start making some money working for themselves and not for others, to make those guys rich. So, they will start to search for money making opportunities online, because they know that by working at home, on the Internet, you can earn a decent income every month ( note that I've said decent, and not getting rich overnight ). Let's face it, you'll be able to earn more than your boss pays you for the work you're doing for him..Of course, this will happen if you're willing to invest some time and maybe a bit of cash in starting a home based business ( in the affiliate marketing field ).Making money as an affiliate should by an easy task, as it doesn't involve having your own products to sell, spending a lot of cash on advertising etc. Usually, you need a couple of things to get started: - A product or service that you can resell and earn money - A blog or website to promote that product that you wish

Yesterday I was talking about e-mail scams and how to recognize such an e-mail as being a scam. Today, I'll tell you about another type of scam: the work at home scam sites. I know that maybe some of you will think that this is an off topic post, but I assure it is not. I would like you to be informed of such things, rather than waste your time or money with it. There are a lot of work at home opportunities on the Internet this days and some people will go and try those that sound too good to be true. By Tony Shaw5 Ways To Protect Yourself Against Internet ScamsMany times when searching for a way to earn extra money through business opportunities on the net, people run into numerous scams. These Internet scams make it quite difficult to find a legitimate source of work. Not to mention, they come in all forms. How can you tell if they are scamming you though? What if its just another income opportunity? These questions are valid since there are still many wonderful opportunities out there. Nevertheless, it is still great to know how to spot when a company is scamming you.1.
