Ninja Gaiden DS 2 sequel talk from ItagakiIn a recent interview with Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki, he was asked about the possibility of the Ninja Gaiden 2K console series extending itself to the DS after Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. To this Itagaki replied a Ninja Gaiden DS 2 sequel is likely if the original sells well enough. To put it quite simply, the movie did not have an ending. The audience sat there in stunned silence as the movie simply ended. I did not hear a single positive comment about the film as we left the theater. We actually felt "ripped-off" as we left the theater. I was hoping that there would be an ending that would explain what happened in the previous, laborious 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was nothing more than boring confusion. While the producers are banking on the fact that people will flock to see the sequel, I don't see this as a likely possibility. People have to like the first movie before they will see a sequel. If the sequel has already been shot, I would suggest that it will go direct to DVD and bypass the theaters. Just Cause Sequel on PS3, Xbox 360Revealed quite some time back, Eidos has officially announced the sequel to Just Cause, which is coming to PS3 and Xbox 360. The original featured open-world gameplay set on a fictional Cuba-like island. “You’ll begin the game with nothing but your Cuban heels and a winning smile,” said lead designer Peter Johansson. “We wanted to make better use of our huge game world, enhance the stunts, improve the combat and reward exploration more.” The PS3 version was revealed through CVG’s coverage of magazine PSW’s preview, while the Xbox 360 version’s existence was confirmed by a similar preview in France’s Official Xbox Magazine. Naughty Dog President Confirms Uncharted Sequel In an interview with French news site TF1, Naughty Dog president Christophe Balestra mentions that his team will soon be working on sequel to PS3 title Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Sony has so far remained mum on the subject of a follow up. Good, if not terribly surprising, news. Uncharted has been very well received and as such is a valuable exclusive for the PS3, making the sequel all but inevitable. I played through Uncharted over the holiday break and personally found it to be wildly entertaining. Uncharted 2 sequel a sure thing in the futureEvan Wells, co-president of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune developer Naughty Dog was asked about Uncharted 2 recently. His answer was favorable for the future! To quote: “Question: Are you considering a sequel? There are more treasures to be found out there after all. Perhaps some in old Italian cities, like Venice. Answer: We developed Uncharted as a franchise. The pulp action/adventure genre lends itself perfectly to serialization and continued episodes which is one of the reasons we were attracted to it. To get developers to notice the GameBoy Color original has a following, they’ve started a Shantae Fan Club on their site (bottom of the page).
