Happy Thursday! :)
I guess I'm a bit of an old school purist when it comes to these movies since I haven't seen Episodes II or III, so I'm not really familiar with the newer characters (sorry about that). So which musician would you cast for the following older series roles?
Luke Skywalker
Han Solo
Princess Leia
Chewbacca
Darth Vader
The Emperor (Palpatine)
Obi-Wan Kenobi
R2-D2
C-3PO
Jabba The Hutt
Lando Calrissian
Greedo
Boba Fett
A Few Ewoks
If there is anyone I left out, feel free to add them. Your choices can be based on appearance, demeanor...whatever you want.
Oh, and which band would be the best fit to play in the Creature Cantina?
ohioguy4jc - Britney Spears as Boba Fett? LMAO! :')
Dave - Prince as Greedo...classic!
Steve B - I can't believe I forgot Yoda!!!
Rckets - Squirrel Nut Zippers in the Cantina would rock!
PinkFloyd1962 - you're right...I need to get over it and see them! I will at some point, I'm sure...
Master C - Jack Blades as Luke...LOL. And I don't think
Conan: The Frost-Giant’s Daughter #1
Granted, as I set out to write this review, I must admit that this was my first venture into the world of Conan the Barbarian. For the record though, “The Frost-Giant’s Daughter” is the name of the story by Robert E. Howard, the comic is not depicting Conan as a [...]
We here at Level Up love our toys and action figures. This is evidenced by the first Level Up Toy Fair which I organized for all our employees last July.

Just when you thought they had made every type of Star Wars related product possible some brainiac had to some up with these R2-D2 pepper mills. Keep your inner Star Wars nerd at bay because these guys won’t be available until February 29th of 2008.

Tipped off by someone who'd prefer to remain anonymous, I draw your attention to a post by J. Michael Straczynski, and some commentary concerning George Lucas.
Picking out the relevant bits, from the Lucas commentary:
Regarding the live action series, Lucas said they'll first start writing it in about a month from now. He continued: "The live-action [series] is not the movie. It's the Star Wars universe, but it's characters from the saga who were [previously] minor, and it follows their stories. It's set between [movie episodes] III and IV, when the Empire has taken over."
and then from JMS himself:
For the last year, very much under the radar, I've been working with
two film makers who have created some of the biggest SF movies in the
last twenty years on a television project. (I can't reveal their
identities, but pick any three of their movies and you have box office
of over two billion dollars.) We've been quietly writing and creating
the first three scripts for a new SF serie

“Never mind about all that. STAR WARS is what it is, and it had a profound effect on both SF and on film, for both good and ill… but it is not even close to being the best SF movie of all time.”
