I’m not one hundred percent sure why but from the moment I saw the first teaser trailer for Danny Boyle’s latests film, Sunshine, I was excited. It’s a rather surprising occurrence considering that I have yet to give any of Boyle’s film’s much attention. I still haven’t seen Trainspotting, I’ve only seen bits and pieces of The Beach and I really disliked 28 Days Later… the first time around and though I’ve now come to really enjoy that last film, the fact that I hated it with such a passion upon first viewing should have deterred me from Boyle’s latest but blame it on the trailer or the marketing - something sucked me in.

If you haven’t figured it out already, I’m clambering to see Sunshine. It’s not that I’ve loved Boyle’s other work (the only one I’ve seen and truly liked was 28 Days Later…) but there’s something about this upcoming movie that has me in a frenzy of excitement.
I’m constantly on the lookout for good interviews, video clips and anything else that will provide a little more insight without spoiling the movie for me. The most recent discovery is a seven minute interview with Boyle in which he discusses the script, the various methods employed by the actors in preparing and the bigger meaning/message of the film.
If you’ve been under a rock or don’t come by here very often, Sunshine stars Rose Byrne, Cliff Curtis, Chris Evans, Troy Garity, Cillian Murphy, Hiroyuki Sanada, Benedict Wong and Michelle Yeoh and is the story of a group of astronauts and scientists who are on a mission to restart the dying sun (or you can just watch the trailer here).
