A US Special Services soldier who was injured in the battle when Omar Khadr was captured says he was shocked to learn the 15 year old Canadian teenager wasn’t the only one alive win an Afghan compound when a grenade fatally wounded another American soldier. I found this map at The Investigative Project on Terrorism. I found it to be shocking that within a 60 mile radius of my city, there is 10 known terrorists cells from 7 different terrorist groups. The original map can be found here in .PDF
We did wonder when reading the sad story earlier today about the sixteen year old kid who was arrested after supposedly saying he was going to hijack a plane to commit suicide who'd be the first news outlet to try and make something out of the supposed plans to fly the plane into a Hannah Montana gig.Well done, TMZ, whose team broke off from their current duties of reporting every single rumour surrounding the death of Heath Ledger, and then reporting the denials with a 'fancy anyone even believing that' sneer, to bring the 'news' of how close Miley Cyrus came to grief:The unnamed 16-year-old had handcuffs, duct tape, rope and other items with him on the flight Tuesday, and though there was no incident on the plane, the FBI says he had a plan to hijack the jet. "He had some general plans where he was going and indicated where he wanted to die." ... and then how close she didn't come to grief:Even though Nashville media have reported that the plane was going to be directed to Lafayette,

The storm in a teacup episode created by the Sudan government over an issue that was much ado about nothing finally concluded with a gracious pardon by the government and releasing Ms. Gillian Gibbon from jail. The Sudanese got their “riots” from “angry mobs who felt insulted” and Ms. Gibbon was spared the six months [...]

Bush’s no-fly Terrorist Watch List, which bans people from boarding airplanes within the United States and has included such people as Senator Edward Kennedy and Cat Stevens, was blasted in internal government memos during the year 2004 as confused and inconsistent. One security official with the Bush Administration described the list as “subjective”, with “no [...]
Once again, there has been a threat by al-Qaeda to blow up shopping malls during the holiday shopping season. According to The Blotter, the malls targeted are in Chicago and LA. There's nothing more frightening than crazed mothers trying to get the newest Tickle-Me-Elmo doll. The FBI is warning that al Qaeda may be preparing a series of holiday attacks on U.S. shopping malls in Los Angeles and Chicago, according to an intelligence report distributed to law enforcement authorities across the country this morning. (Click here for full text.) The alert said al Qaeda "hoped to disrupt the U.S. economy and has been planning the attack for the past two years." Law enforcement officials tell ABCNews.com that the FBI received the information in late September and declassified it yesterday for wide distribution.

He notes Nasrallah’s comments after the Israel invasion of Lebanon which did not lead to recapture of Israeli soldiers and fierce fighting, “We did not think, even [...]
Out of all the accusations that CAIR has ties to terrorism, here is proof. The Holy Land Foundation (HLF) is currently on trial for a variety of crimes involving ties to terrorism. The charges are; Conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization Conspiracy to deal in the property of a specially designated terrorist Conspiracy to commit money laundering Money laundering Conspiracy to impede and impair the Internal Revenue Service and to file false return of organization exempt from income tax Filing false returns of organization exempt from income tax. The grand total is 42 counts against HLF. Now, back to those unindicted co-conspirator's, CAIR. In a written testimony to Congress, CAIR defended themselves against accusations of terrorist ties. Here is a quote from the Executive Director of CAIR, Nihad Awad. MYTH: In a recent congressional hearing, Mr. Emerson proclaimed that, “…[CAIR] received some of its initial seed money fr

Penitentiaries in the UK have banned Xbox 360, PS3 and Nintendo DS because officials believe the crooks in the slammer are smart enough to send out messages to other convicts and set up a terror attack.Just don’t let them get online. Doesn’t that solve that whole problem? Criminals shouldn’t have any privileges, but banning gaming consoles is a bit harsh. Maybe it’s just the gamer in me. The technology in the new generation of computer games makes them a security risk. There is concern that top terror suspects have been using systems already in jails. Radio software is an integral part of the equipment. LMAO. Source: Crunch Gear Online Games consoles terrorist gaming news jail banned gaming
FoxNews German authorities were searching Thursday for about 10 suspected supporters of an Islamic group linked to Al Qaeda believed to have assisted three militants arrested for plotting imminent attacks against Americans in Germany, an official said. Authorities believed "some 10" further suspects provided support to the two German converts and a Turkish citizen who were arrested Tuesday, August Hanning, a top security official, told the ARD broadcaster. [...] The three arrested suspects had military-style detonators and enough material to make bombs more powerful than those that killed 191 people in Madrid in 2004 and 52 commuters in London two years ago, prosecutors said Wednesday. [...] In Washington, a senior U.S. State Department official said German investigators had determined the Frankfurt International Airport and the nearby U.S. Ramstein Air Base were the primary targets of the plot, but that those arrested may have also been considering strikes on other sites, pa
Netiv Ha'asara resident Micha Biton told Army Radio on Sunday morning that contrary to what the defense establishment might say, local residents feel that the security barrier does not actually provide much security. "All of us here have warned and spoken about this, that it's just a matter of time, and something has to be done. The defense establishment, however, like a mantra that repeats itself, has told us not to worry, 'it's all under control.' All kinds of people come to us saying that we're not protected - 'You think this wall protects you, but it doesn't,'" Biton said. More...Israel’s Armed Forces Undermanned, Under-equipped for War
(WASHINGTON) — Officials in the U.S. State Department are reportedly close to labeling Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps a “terrorist” organization. At the same time, sources also indicate that the State Department may soon label the Earth...
...
That's good news - hopefully the US can be more active against them now...The Washington Post and New York Times are reporting that the US is preparing to "designate" Iran's Revolutionary Guards as a foreign terrorist organisation allowing it to target the organisation's finances among other things. The Guards work independently of Iran's armed forces and have long been connected to many terror organisations in the Middle East most notably Hezbollah in the Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza.More recently the US and Britain have accused Iran of using them in Iraq and Afghanistan to supply the insurgents and Taliban with weapons and training. That said this move is a provocative one as the Guards are still an officially sanctioned unit of the Iranian state even if they are more a clerics private army. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is said to be behind the move, according to the New York Times.
It's widely known by those who seek information outside the MSM that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is causing us problems in Iraq. They are deserving of the "terrorist organization" label. But, why stop there? The whole government is a terrorist organization too. The United States has decided to designate Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country's 125,000-strong elite military branch, as a "specially designated global terrorist," according to U.S. officials, a move that allows Washington to target the group's business operations and finances. The Bush administration has chosen to move against the Revolutionary Guard Corps because of what U.S. officials have described as its growing involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as its support for extremists throughout the Middle East, the sources said. The decision follows congressional pressure on the administration to toughen its stance against Tehran, as well as U.S. frustration with the ineffectiveness of U.N. r
This guy should be Vick's cell-mate. Embattled NFL quarterback Michael Vick, facing federal charges related to his alleged participation in dogfighting, has been hit with a "$63,000,000,000 billion dollar" lawsuit filed by a South Carolina inmate who alleges the Atlanta Falcons star stole his pit bulls and sold them on eBay to buy "missiles from Iran," FOX News has learned. Jonathan Lee Riches filed the handwritten complaint over "theft and abuse of my animals" on July 23 in the U.S. District Court in Richmond, Va. Riches alleges that Vick stole two white mixed pit bull dogs from his home in Holiday, Fla., and used them for dogfighting operations in Richmond, Va. The complaint goes on to allege that Vick sold the dogs on eBay and “used the proceeds to purchase missiles from the Iran government.” The complaint also alleges that Vick would need those missiles because he pledged allegiance to Al Qaeda in February of this year. “Michael Vick has to stop physically hurting

Just like they did in Afghanistan 10 days before 9/11 and 2 weeks before the USS Cole bombing. There has been "chatter" that an attack was imminent, possibly a dirty bomb in LA, NY, and/or Miami. Hopefully al-Qaeda and the Taliban abandoned these training camps because they feared an attack. The ongoing three-day peace jirga (council) involving hundreds of tribal leaders from Pakistan and Afghanistan is aimed at identifying and rooting out Taliban and al-Qaeda militancy on both sides of the border. Sigh! Wow. I can't believe that this idiot said this. By extension, I guess if someone bombed the Vatican, that we would know that they were serious and would comply, right? And last I checked the 2 sites Tancredo mentioned are in Saudi Arabia, which is a US ally.

Tancredo: Threaten to bomb Muslim holy sites in retaliation
Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo’s campaign stood by his assertion that bombing holy Muslim sites would serve as a good “deterrent” to prevent Islamic fundamentalists from attacking the United States, his spokeswoman said Friday.
“This shows that we mean business,” said Bay Buchanan, a senior Tancredo adviser. “There’s no more effective deterrent than that. But he is open-minded and willing to embrace other options. This is just a means to deter them from attacking us.”
On Tuesday, Tancredo warned a group of Iowans that another terrorist attack would “cause a worldwide economic collapse.”
Kafeel Ahmed was the guy who caught himself on fire during the airport "attack". I'm glad he had to suffer everyday. Kafeel Ahmed, the man who set himself on fire after crashing a jeep into Glasgow airport, has died in hospital. The 27-year-old Indian national was one of two men held at the airport after the attack on June 30. Television footage had shown the badly burned Ahmed being detained by police at Glasgow airport. He sustained 90% burns and had not been expected to survive. He died at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, police said last night. He had been in hospital since the incident. The Terrorist theology An ex-Jihadi tells:When I was still a member of what is probably best termed the British Jihadi Network, a series of semi-autonomous British Muslim terrorist groups linked by a single ideology, I remember how we used to laugh in celebration whenever people on TV proclaimed that the sole cause for Islamic acts of terror like 9/11, the Madrid bombings and 7/7 was Western foreign policy.By blaming the government for our actions, those who pushed the 'Blair's bombs' line did our propaganda work for us. More important, they also helped to draw away any critical examination from the real engine of our violence: Islamic theology....... what drove me and many of my peers to plot acts of extreme terror within Britain, our own homeland and abroad, was a sense that we were fighting for the creation of a revolutionary state that would eventually bring Islamic justice to the world. How did this continuing violence come to be the means of promoting this (flawed) utopian goal
If you're of my generation, you spent some time during your youth crouched under a small school desk. It was a ritual safety drill during the cold war years. Our teachers explained that it was what we needed to do to protect ourselves if someone from the other side of the world decided one day to drop a bomb on the school.
My generation leaned toward obedience, at least when we were in the third grade, so when the teacher suddenly announced "bomb drill" all of us quickly curled up under our desks, our fingers firmly linked on top of our heads. Sometimes I took something along to read just in case this was the "real thing." I figured it could get pretty boring just sitting under a desk.
I always noticed however, that the teacher did not climb under her, far more substantial, desk during these safety drills. I suspected that she either knew that A) desk vs bomb didn't make for good odds so she might as well take her chances, or B) s
Just when you think you can sleep well at night knowing that Falwell is no longer able to inspire hate in the populous, one of his rabid fans makes the news forcing you to realize the long lasting effects of his message. According to CNN, a Liberty University Student was arrested after suspicions were raised about a possible plot to detonate explosive devices Tuesday, the day of Rev. Jerry Falwell's funeral. According to ABC News the suspect, Mark David Uhl, was upset about an anti-gay group that planned to protest the funeral. On a side note I think there is a dark irony to the fact that one Christian extremist is protesting another Christian extremist for not being extreme enough. While Liberty University does not approve of physical violence, recent events have made me think about the possible ramifications institutions such as Liberty University may have on the future. The willful and deceitful perpetuation of ignorance is not a laughing matter. It stagnates intellectual growth a
