  • Car bomb hits Algeria town - security sources
ALGIERS (Reuters) - A car bomb exploded in the town of Thenia 55 km east of the Algerian capital Algiers on Tuesday, security sources said. There was no immediate word on casualties. One unconfirmed report from a resident said the target was a police station. The blast occurred less than a month after attackers rammed an explosives laden car into a police station in the town of Naciria, about 120 km east of Algiers on Jan. 2, killing four policemen and wounding 20 people. Al Qaeda's north African wing claimed that attack, as well as a double bombing in the capital Algiers that killed at least 41 people on Dec. 11, including 17 United Nations staff.

Always on the look-out for new female company to help carry on the Beesley name, the Landlord keeps a watchful eye over Grockleton and anyone who dares to enter his land. When three improbable heroes stumble unsuspectingly into the Beesley's realm they are cruelly snared into a menacing hunt and an unstoppable frenzy of heart racing mayhem! Will the Landlord triumph and collect his 'trophies' (and maybe even a future bride?), or can the unlikely trio be victorious against him in his own game?..Download :Link1Link2Link3Link4Link5Link6Link7Link8
  • A Backwoods Town In Vermont Vote To Arrest Bush, Cheney On War Crimes
Will you please secede and join Canada already. We don't care about your teddy bears, ice cream, or maple syrup. So you want to arrest Bush and Cheney should they ever step foot in Vermont. The question I have is; why would they bother? Bush hasn't been there since he was elected. Coincidence? I think not. Brattleboro residents will vote at town meeting on whether President George Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney should be indicted and arrested for war crimes, perjury or obstruction of justice if they ever step foot in Vermont. The Brattleboro Select Board voted 3-2 Friday to put the controversial item on the Town Meeting Day warning. According to Town Clerk Annette Cappy, organizers of the Bush-Cheney issue gathered enough signatures, and it was up to the Select Board whether Brattleboro voters would consider the issue in March.Cappy said residents will get to vote on the matter by paper balloting March 4. Kurt Daims, 54, of Brattleboro, the organizer of the petition drive, s
  • Travel Town Museum
One of my favorite places to visit is Griffith Park. I love so many of it's attractions and it's natural beauty. I grew up only a couple of miles away from the park and have wonderful memories (I learned to ride a bike at the park) of visiting the observatory, hiking and fun picnics. I would have to say that many fun times were spent at the Travel Town Museum. If you love trains or your little ones love trains this is a must stop. It's an outdoor museum with many locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and cabooses on display. There is of course a train ride that circles around the museum and is a must if you are going to visit. Train Rides are $2.50 for adults and children. There are also Public Play Days on the first Sunday of the month from 1 to 4pm where kids can play with the museum's 400 wooden piece Thomas set. There are also docent guided tours every 2nd and 3rd Saturday of the month. Tours start at 11am. Admission and parking is free!! If you're looking for something fun

  • Candidates rush to remote Nevada gold town
By Adam Tanner ELKO, Nevada (Reuters) - The remote mining town of Elko became the unlikely center of the battle to lead the United States on Friday as several candidates came to town on the eve of Nevada's presidential nomination contests. The rural area, far from the state's famed casinos in Las Vegas and Reno, played host to Democratic hopefuls Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barrack Obama after Republican candidate Mitt Romney swung through for an early morning visit. Former Democratic Sen. John Edwards already made a stop on Thursday evening in the town, which has a population of 22,000 and is a four-hour drive from either Reno or Salt Lake City in Utah. "Right now Elko is the center of a titanic struggle for the presidency of the United States," David Axelrod, Obama's political advisor, told Reuters. "It's a battleground. There's a lot of independent-minded voters in Elko who are late deciders." Towns like Elko are seen having the rural voters who ca

  • Korea Town Plaza
I went to Queens to do some food shopping, as I often do to avoid paying Manhattan prices. I frequent BJ's and Costco type places, Hong Kong Supermarket, smaller produce shops across Flushing, and Korea Town Plaza. My mom and I had so many errands to run today that we decided to save some time by eating lunch inside Korea Town Plaza. They have a a seating area in the back where you can order several different Korean dishes for around $5 each. It's not the best Korean food ever but it's a good portion of pretty good food for $5.As I sat down to write this blog, I found a disturbing article (from 1996) about the beginnings of Korea Town Plaza. It seems they have not played a fair game in competing with local businesses. Or, maybe the small businesses just created bad publicity because it was the only way they knew how to fight against Korea Town Plaza. It annoys me that the article leaves you hanging and I couldn't find much more info on the issue. I've been shopping at Korea Town Plaza

Yikes! I get so far behind on my blogs when I'm working. Today I checked Google Reader and I had 38 updated posts to read! Then I get behind on responding to comments and commenting...dang. It's a snowball effect...and I'm underneath it:)This was really wonderful. A reporter from Red Bluff Daily Online contacted me and asked me some questions about my Hott Cops blog because I had posted several of their hottie officers. Damn, they have a TON of them! The reporter wrote a really nice article, and then two of the tv stations got involved. The Kiwanis Club "fined" the Chief for every cop that appeared on the blog and $450 was raised for scholarships. Good for them for taking it in the spirit in which it was intended and for turning it into something good for others. There's a price to pay for being hott! Apparently, it's $50 a pop. I love the way the Kiwanis Club doesn't miss a beat...or an opportunity.Wow. You can tell Gary Collins is not a PYT. (pretty young thing) He got four DAYS in

?'? ????? ???"?From The Chicago Tribune:Community on edge after Wiccans arrive By Megan Twohey Tribune staff reporter11:49 PM CDT, October 27, 2007ROSSVILLE, Ill. — Things were already going downhill in this small farming community when the witches arrived.Area factories had shut down. So had the local high school. A suspicious fire had gutted much of the downtown. The use of methamphetamine was destroying families. So when a group of Wiccans from out of town moved into a storefront this summer and erected a sign advertising "Witch School," it was only a matter of time before alarm bells sounded and tempers started to boil in this village of 1,200, about 125 miles south of Chicago near the Indiana border."Remember the Salem witch trials?" resident Adam Marganski said. "That's what is happening here."After percolating behind the scenes, anger erupted into public action last weekend when several churches canvassed the community with literature blasting the witches and organiz
  • Cape Town
Cape Town (Afrikaans and Dutch: Kaapstad; Xhosa: iKapa) is the third most populous city in South Africa, forming part of the metropolitan municipality of the City of Cape Town. It is the provincial capital of the Western Cape, as well as the legislative capital of South Africa, where the National Parliament and many government offices are located. Cape Town is famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Often regarded as one of the world's most beautiful cities because of its geography, Cape Town is the most popular South African destination for tourism.Cape Town was originally developed as a victualling station for Dutch ships sailing to Eastern Africa, India, and the Far East more than 200 years before the construction of the Suez Canal in 1869. We got several calls/emails this afternoon letting us know that Salinda was seen in our former hometown. Within a couple hours the sherriff had picked her up. I talked to her twice. She's really not getting this whole thing. The first conversation she was sobbing and begging to come home. I told her there was nothing I could do. I was not exactly nurturing trying to help her understand that she was in big trouble. They transported her to detention from teh sheriff's office. Detention in that part of the state anyway. SO she gets a second phone call. Her attitude is much different now that she knows that she can't come home no matter what and she is hardened and challenging. She can't make herself admit she made a mistake. And doesn't even deny that she's been playing me.Sadie has a doctor's appointment for a sore on her mouth that she's been waiting a week to get attention and if court is at the same time, I don't think I'm going to go to court.
