Today’s Bucks County Courier Times tells us that Patrick Murphy, working with Bensalem, PA solicitor Joseph Pizzo, is trying to pass the Clean Railroads Act which would close a long-existing loophole in federal law that “(allows) rail companies to run roughshod over state and local laws and the will of a community,” as Patrick stated in the Courier Times article here.Patrick has actually been fighting the planned waste transfer station in Bensalem that would be allowed under the loophole for some time, as noted here where he stated his opposition in July along with State Rep. Some garbage that was recently stolen from everyone’s favorite celebrity hoebag, Paris Hilton, has failed to receive any bids on Ebay.com. HollywoodStarTrash.com put an empty dog food can from Hilton’s West Hollywood home and no one bid beyond the $40 starting price.
Other items stolen from her trash that have not garnered bids include a used toothbrush, a fan letter to Hilton and an autographed postcard from Hilton.
It is a breath of fresh air to see that there aren’t any psychos out there who are obsessed with Paris and want to buy her trash. At the same time, it is totally understandable. I mean who in their right f-ing mind would buy a used toothbrush from Paris Hilton? Once you got it home it would just spread AIDS/Herpes/Syphilis to everyone within a 500-foot vicinity.

Remember that root user on your Linux box? Well, turns out root has trash, at least some of the time.
Depending on what you do as root, your trash could be full of well, trash. Well upwards of a couple of hundred megabytes.
If you’d like to check and see what your root user’s been collecting and get rid of it and you happen to be on a Gnome powered system, here’s all you have to do.
Open a terminal session (Applications-> Accessories-> Terminal) and type:
gksudo nautilus ’/root/.Trash’
That’ll pop open a window showing you what (if any) trash root’s accumulated. You can empty or restore as you would from your normal trash.
I've been talking with friends about the horrible air quality on Maui (the island where I live). The VOG blowing over from the Big Island (Hawaii) is so bad lately that practically everyone I know is impacted with physical reactions--everything from red, itchy eyes to headaches to sniffles. Many are going to their doctors and to the hospital to seek help.Not only have we been discussing VOG, but also Maui trash-- especially the many abandoned cars all over the island! At one time there were Trash Art events at the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center where artists displayed their unique creations made from trash. My daughter participated for several years with her unique creations made from license plates, bicycles, chairs, and other whatnot. This event was a inspiration to see how common trash could be recycled and turned into beautiful art.
