-Day 46. Never go to bed mad. Stay up and fight.- AnonymousWatching the news Thursday night, there was a report on a new research saying relationships make you gain weight because you become comfortable with your partner. New? Are you freakin' kidding me?? This has been common knowledge since Cavewoman Zanoogabooga bonked Caveman Sangrrr... focus people! By bonked I meant hit on the head with a club and yes, she was the aggressor. Anyway, after she bonked him on the head with her red billy-club, dragged him home, had little cavekiddies, she gained a few pounds here and there. Meanwhile her mom kept telling her she had to take care of her looks so Sangrrr wouldn't look at Betty in that way.Dummies! How about they use that research money on important things like inventing unscuffable shoes. So yeah, let's move on.Recap of Bee and Andy's DAY OF LOVE! ??? It started at approximately 12:01 AM on V-Day.Bee:::sigh:: Will you move over?Andy:Oh you're fine!Bee:Did you not read my Tablespoo

I have not met anyone who has not experienced violence or loss within their family tree. And yet the tree survives! This poem is dedicated to all those family members who keep on loving, helping, and praying for their members. God will grow your tree! 1994 Winner of Inspirational Poetry Award from Texas Poets Society (Dallas)Our Battered Family Tree How wide our tree, how deep its roots! We have known neglect, drought, floods, tornado's efforts to uproot us, steel blades' attempts to chop us down, and still, we stand! Long ago--whether deliberate or accidental, I do not know--we were planted in the soil, warmed and scorched by the sun, refreshed by God's rains. Birds built nests of life in our branches. Critters brought seeds from other trees and dropped them in our soil. Branches were grafted in, adding to our divergent foliage, while others, damaged, fell to the ground. Soon we bore not only nuts and berries, but succulent fruits and prickly co

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) - Dutch officials and conservationists have reached a deal to save the tree that brought comfort to Anne Frank as she hid from the Nazis, prolonging its life by up to 15 years. Conservationists won a court injunction in November stopping the city of Amsterdam from cutting down the diseased horse chestnut, which officials feared could topple over and crash into the secret annex where the Jewish teenager hid. In a statement on Wednesday, city authorities, residents, the Anne Frank museum and conservationists said they had agreed to build a frame around the 150-year-old tree before the end of May. "That means the tree can stay standing for a minimum of five to 15 years," they said. "A multi-year plan will be drawn up to keep an eye on its condition and safety." Anne Frank mentioned the tree several times in the diary she wrote as she hid in a concealed attic until her family was betrayed to the Nazis in 1944. She died in a concentration camp in
A million bees have colonized in a single banyan tree here. The tree has the world’s largest number of beehives -- as many as 600. It has become a centre of attraction for the curious onlookers at Ramagovindapura village near Nandagudi, where Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has been proposed. The 200-years-old tree is a vital proof for social and environmental activists, who are against the setting up of SEZs fearing that such zones might disturb the ecological balance. According to city’s well-known ornithologist and naturalist MB Krishna, the bees have colonized on a single tree because it is surrounded by forest area. Since the bees travel far distances for collection of honey, the surrounding area also need to be protected from being disturbed. “It’s a pride to protect the tree which has been a host to a record breaking 600 bee colonies. We would do our best to protect this natural heritage,” said Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Wildlife IB Sriv

I have been dreaming and hoping for a Lotus cat tree for a while. I think it was too big for Santa Claws to fit it into his sleigh this year. So, here are 13 reasons why I think I deserve to get a Lotus cat tree:There might be an after-Christmas sale on them!It comes in a mahogany color that will match the bedroom furniture.I would share it with Pixie (whenever I am busy doing something else). It is very beautiful, almost like a piece of sculpture! Here is a picture of one:It is almost 6 feet tall! And you know I love to climb high. The platform supports up to 50#, so it will be strong enough for me. Even if I gain 44 pounds. If I can climb on this tree, I will not climb around in places where I am Not Allowed. At least, not as often.I will donate some of the monies I have saved up to help pay for it. I have one green paper, and 43 metal circles saved up so far.I already picked out the perfect spot for it. Right here, in the corner: I been a very good cat this year, so I think I des
Actor George Clooney has revealed that he once celebrated Christmas in a cheeky way – by stealing his neighbour’s prized Christmas tree. The 46-year-old actor recalled his college days, revealing that he stole the tree in order to take revenge from his next-door neighbour for terrorising his pet dog. "Our neighbour was so proud of his garden, so when my dog got into it, he shot its butt full of pellets. Fortunately the dog didn't die,” Contactmusic quoted Clooney, as saying. "But in the middle of the neighbour's garden was a manicured fir tree, so one Christmas Eve, I sawed it down and put it up in our house. “No Christmas tree has ever meant so much to me," he added. One of the many things I love about the Christmas Season is viewing our collection of Christmas tree ornaments. These ornaments are diverse, and I've gathered them from all around the world at various times, so our Christmas tree is EXTREMELY eclectic. And that's the way I like it!Others have gifted us ornaments through the years as well--and I treasure these ones! We have a most unusual Christmas tree with many memories hanging from it. If these ornaments could talk, they'd have some fabulous adventures and stories to share. We have ornaments from the Canadian Rockies, Bali, Thailand, Hopi-land, Hawaii (naturally!), France, England, Spain, Portugal, and more. We have dolphins with Christmas hats....mermaids, angels galore....teddybears...elves...faeries...stars....turtles...and football figurines. Many of these items are hand-crafted. How about you? Do you have a themed tree or an eclectic ornament collection as we do?
So, today was the day, just a couple days before Christmas, when I finally got my act together (and found the time) to go out into my backyard and choose the tree that would hang out with me in my house over the holidays. This is how it all went down:Me with saw: ready to go.Bound to be some good trees down here. The first potentials - too close to the road, not WILD enough.the saw and the frostdistraction: more amazing frostagain: totally forgot what I was out here to do - blown away by the frostmaybe one of these guys is good enough...distracted again: ice crystals on the streammore ice on the streamright. back to the mission: could this be the one?And then there was this one: the perfect tree.what it looked like immediately after the killin the bathroom, freshing up, er, defrosting...thawed out and finding its place in the corner of my living roomwith lightsand with all the dressing. That's how I got mine. How did you get yours?:-)Merry Christmas

Of course, we can't for get, front-and-center, Lil Wayne's and Zac Efron's High School Musical dance album. On the cover? Zac Efron giving Weezy a big wet one and calling him "n*gga". This is beyond disturbing. Maybe they're really, really, REALLY close? I guess you can call them "make out" close. Before I give you guys even more brain damage, let me back up a bit. According to The Socialite's Life, Weezy is working with the one and only Zac Efron on some HSM remixes for a "dance album". And as it was reported, this is a lyrical piece from one of the remixes. "Everybody all for one, a real summer has just begun! Let's rock and roll and just let go, feel the rhythm of the drums. We're gonna have fun in the sun!"--while Wayne raps: "I'm a dog, you're all a bunch of fleas o
Christmas is the time of year to get together with people we care about to share gifts, open love presents and share joy underneath the tree. Christmas has been being so commercialized to me what it is really about is enjoying time with family, relatives, and friends. Christmas is the time to be grateful for every part of life, times and memories throughout the year with putting love under the tree to open on Christmas Eve. Christmas is the time of year to enjoy the holiday season with giving love along with receiving love as well is just as important.Christmas is my much loved time of year with decorated trees, snowman, candy canes, fruitcake and gingerbread houses. Making Christmas sugar cookies with grandma decorated like Santa, trees, reindeer and snowmen. Christmas Candies like candy canes mint sticks, sugarplums, and chocolate treats to add holiday style to everything. Famous holiday fruitcake a gift through the mail but never actually eaten to completion but always grateful to r

Click here to listen.Tiger Woods looked a bit like Phil Mickelson and family after his win at the Target World Challenge with grandma holding up baby Sam to receive a wet one while Elin proudly looked on. Perfect Kodak moment! Now it's time for a six-week respite. Perhaps a holiday aboard the yacht, then Christmas with the relatives?Or, maybe a powow with the lesser known side of the family? Cheyenne Woods signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Wake Forest University so a bit of catching up couldn't hurt, especially since Tiger and Cheyenne both share a common bond. Earl Woods Sr. gave his granddaughter her first set of golf clubs and, as Tiger remarked, "she started in the garage where I started. I'll never forget that day."Besides the apparent similar features, Cheyenne, daughter of Earl Woods Jr., is becoming an accomplished golfer. But she lacks Tiger's humble nature, commenting in an interview earlier in the year that she doesn't just want to be known as "somebody's rel
Well it's that time of year again. Christmas is only a couple days away and I don't have a Christmas tree yet!! I don't want to be one of those people who buy the average artificial Christmas tree. I want to do Christmas in style! With global warming and killer lumberjacks, real Christmas tree are becoming hard to find! I guess I'll have to settle for this one:Goats included of course! But I have to add a couple more leaves...And I have to cut off some branches to fit the tree through my door...And I have to buy feed for the goats...And I have to fight off the angry goat herders...Ah screw it! I'm getting a fake tree this year!By the way, how did those goats get in that tree?!? That right there blows my mind. Seriously.9 days until Santa comes down my chimney!

Proposed federal rule threatens 2 decades of established law.The real problem for museums and anthropologists may be that it will become easier for tribes to retrieve ancestral remains."On October 16, 2007, the Department of the Interior published draft regulations that would destroy the use of cultural affiliation as the principle for repatriation decisions, which is at the core of NAGPRA and supported by seventeen years of hard work and effort by tribes, archaeologists, and museum personnel, and replace it with an undefined notion of "cultural relationship".DNA Kits: Secrets of Your Past or Scientific Scam?"Anyone with a spare $100 to $900 can buy a "DNA ancestry kit." Self-collection of DNA requires only a quick swab of the inside of the mouth to gather cheek cells. Mail that smear back and the company will then compare your DNA to various other samples. But claims that this analysis will tell you much about where you came from are downright fraudulent, anthropologist Deborah Bolnick
Decorating a Christmas tree is a wonderful holiday tradition. It's festive, creative, and a great way to savor holiday memories. Digging out the boxes of decorations and ornaments this time of year brings back great memories of getting together with family and friends over the years. (Like that time in college when we boiled down some BBQ ribs and turned them into reindeer for the tree). I've found some great places to get this year's ornaments! Check them out:As always, Anthropologie has something SUPER cute. Look! Little tiny sweaters for the tree! Sur La Table also has a wonderful selection of glass ornaments with a sense of humor. Fast food never looked so good! TravelSmith sells these beautiful old fashioned globes. Just lovely.

Did You Put Your Tree Up Yet?I'm still fighting a cold but I wanted to help my Mommy, Grammy, and Pop-Pop put up the Christmas tree today. I wasn't about to let a little cold stand in my way! I remember all the fun we had doing it last year... Mommy dressed me up in a Santa Claus suit, I got a chance to play in the Christmas tree box, and we put all kinds of things on the tree. Grammy even started something called a "tradition". She got me a special thing called an "ornament" to put on the tree. It was a tiny sleigh with my name on it. When we finished with the tree and turned the lights on, it was really something to see! This year's "Putting' Up The Christmas Tree" was a lot different than last year. For starters, I couldn't wear my Santa suit because Mommy said I am too big for it now. I also discovered that it's a lot more fun to let everyone else put things on the tree so I can take them off! Of course, this meant we had to play a round of the "NO! and STOP!" game but, it was fun

We did it. After spending twice as much money and twice as much time as we originally budgeted, driving around in awful weather, crying a little bit, and meeting some crazies....we finally have a Christmas tree. It's big. And it's perfect. We actually got it at Zellers. shame shame. It seems that there aren't any good places to cut your own Christmas trees anymore, so we had to pay some kid a small fortune for this one. But I love it. And at least it's not fake. Here are some pics of my living room all prettied up for Christmas. Have I mentioned lately how much i love Christmas???Let me know what you think, will you?
