PS3 to beat Xbox 360 in Battle for EuropePS3 officials have announced that the number of PAL PlayStation 3s will exceed that of Xbox 360s by the end of this summer. David Reeves, the man in charge with Sony's affairs in Europe said: " In terms of installed base in some of our major markets, such as France, Spain, Germany, Italy, plus some distributor territories in smaller markets like Switzerland, our current cumulative installed base is now higher than that of the Xbox 360." Microsoft has announced that it will be expanding the video offerings available through the XBox Live Marketplace to include content from newly signed partners ABC/Disney Channel and MGM studios. Enjoying broad popularity since its launch in late 2006, the Video Store has already built a broad catalog of content drawing from the vaults of existing partners including, but not limited to, Warner Bros., Paramount Pictures, and NBC. The addition of the ABC/Disney Channel family will further enhance Live content options by giving 360 owners access to hit shows such as Lost, Grey's Anatomy, Hannah Montana, and Ugly Betty, with MGM potentially contributing a wide range of popular films to the service spanning from Rocky to Silence of the Lambs.Microsoft states that the first content from these new partnerships should be available for download later this month.

Omega Five Hits Xbox Live Next Week It's not often we see original Japanese games hitting Xbox Live Arcade, but Hudson has announced that next week will see Omega Five take its bow on the download service. The crazy side-scrolling shooter, developed by Natsume, will be available for $10 on Wednesday, January 9. We played an early version of the game at Hudson's office last year. Xbox Live Service Finally Back to Normal After several days of slow, spotty, or just plain no service, it seems that Xbox Live is finally back to normal. Microsoft has yet to reveal what caused the problems, simply posting a notice that Live is "up and running." Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Stalking Via Xbox Live According to a local news agency, Spokane Police recently arrested a 20-year-old New York man who allegedly traveled cross-country to stalk and harass a 15-year-old girl he met while playing Halo 2 on Xbox Live. Joshua Stetar had allegedly been sending flowers and gifts to the girl's home, along with thousands of text messages, before deciding the best course of action would be to drive 40 hours to Spokane to see the girl in person. Police say that on arrival, Stetar began driving by the young girl's home, while sending text messages detailing his obsessive activities. Stalker debuts on Xbox Live, goes game over and gets arrested While Xbox Live is obviously meant to game, chat and make friends, it’s rare you get such a good warning to be careful who you talk to. In Spokane, Washington, a 20-year-old American man was arrested on felony stalking charges after chatting to a 15-year-old girl on Xbox Live and eventually threatening to rape the girl and her sister. Avevo promesso uno specialone di natale sull'xbox portatile ed ogni promessa è un debito...Sarà che la scia delle psp ha fatto un pò rodere i fan del quattrocchi Microsoft, sarà che intorno alla notizia di una xbox portabile ormai ci si è creata una specie di leggenda metropolitana, ma non avete nemmeno la più pallida idea di quanti prototipi, schizzetti, immagini ed a volte anche esemplari realizzati e funzionanti, ci sono in giro, sono nati persino dei siti dedicati (poi chiusi misteriosamente) e qualcuno si è preso anche la briga di progettare gli stampati dei circuiti e l'intera struttura, ma ora immagino vogliate gustarvi un pò di materiale.....a voi le belle cose.....La più probabile realizzazione tra tutte sembra essere proprio questa, l'xbox velocity , la notizia è comparsa su GIZMODO un po di tempo fa e l'immagine di questa console ha fatto in men che non si dica il giro del pianeta.....VIA GIZMODO----------------------------------Ed ecco su digital battle comparire

Rumorong: More exclusive GTA IV Xbox 360 content in '09Filed under: Microsoft Xbox 360, Business According to Take-Two there is no additional exclusive episodic content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV beyond what was previously announced. The confusion stems from a call last night regarding Take-Two's financials where CEO Ben Feder said, "In fiscal 2009 we'll also be offering additional episodic content for Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360." A Rockstar rep tells Next-Gen that Feder was referring to the second announced episode.The semantic crux in the statement is that if the second episode is released after Nov. 1 '08 it is part of Take-Two's fiscal '09. We already knew that the first GTA IV episode was planned to come out shortly after release, and then the second episode about a half year after that, which places it after the fiscal '09 start date.
