After all the carefully choreographed hype around Led Zeppelin’s recent gig at London's 02 Arena, I got to thinking about the low level of popular culture under the Blair regime. Whilst far from scientific, a useful benchmarks I have found over the years when judging whether a government is progressive or radical, is to take a look at the cultural output during its period in office. As you may know, Led Zeppelin is holding a reunion concert on November 26th at the O2 Arena in London.
The other day... When Rolling Stone Magazine asked Jimmy Page whether there will be any new Led Zeppelin tunes/albums, the guitar god said,
“Look, I’d be really surprised if there wasn’t - you know, I mean I just know the way we are. We’re musicians…as we’re playing we’ll probably be coming up with all manner of things.”
However, it seems Robert Plant is a little less "whatever happens, happens" about the reformed Led Zeppelin. He's the one who told the press that there was only going to be one LZ reunion show and not an all-out concert tour.
Like Plant has anything musically better to do... His solo albums aren't exactly at the top of the Billboards.

That's right folks. The 2007 Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour is nigh. We can expect the surviving members Page, Robert Plant (who can no longer hit those high notes that used to drive girls in the audience crazy), and John Paul Jones.
Although they're calling it a reunion tour, Zeppelin is only scheduled for one performance on November 26th at the O2 Arena in London. Tickets are running for £125 or $250 USD, and you can get them for this price online here. That's a pretty penny, but that's what the legends are charging these days. Just look at the Rolling Stones.
I'd pay that much to see three gods of rock and roll if I lived anywhere near England.

You never should believe stuff you read in blogs, just as a default position, but Danny Eccleston's Mojo Blog claims that Led Zeppelin could be about to reform have a ring of truth about them. Apparently Page, Jones and Plant have lined up Jason Bonham to take his Dad's place; the original idea is to do a get-together as a tribute to Ahmet Ertegun - and if that date, before the end of the year, goes well, there could be a tour.
