The Wayne Fontes Experience
The Wayne Fontes Experience is a weblog featuring my uninformed, snarky, and completely biased blathering on Detroit sports. You may see the occasional pop culture rant and some lame attempts at humor, but mostly sports. I do ask readers to remember one thing..."In Detroit, you're with us, or we hate you."

Capital One Citrus Bowl musings: 4th quarter Wolverines-Gators
2008-01-01 23:00:00
We start the 4th quarter with Mike Hart carrying Gators for 6 yards. You can see that he wants to make up for those 2 fumbles. It's Hart again! He dances his way to the Florida 15! 1st down in the red zone. Need a SCORE!It's another handoff to Manningham going right...Nothing there, he reverses field AGAIN...Big block by Henne! But it doesn't work this time, as he's run out of bounds at the 20. And there's a flag. FUCK! Clipping on the Wolverines! Shit.2nd and 25 from the 30. Henne gets 10 back on a pass to Matthews. 3rd and 15. Big play coming up! Time out Wolverines. The way this game is going, Lloyd's going to draw up a play in the dirt...Crowd's going ape shit! Henne drops back, but no one is open. He throws it out of the end zone. The money KC Lopata is on for the 37 yard FG attempt. He drills it dead nuts!31-28, Michigan is back in the lead! But for how long? This is one Hell of a ballgame. The BCS matchups would only hope to be this entertaining!Michigan kicks this ball deep, Flori ...

Capital One Citrus Bowl musings: 3rd quarter Wolverines-Gators
2008-01-01 22:11:00
Some timing, the NHL Winter Classic is in intermission, between the 2nd and 3rd periods. All I've seen so far is Bob Costas pontificating about hockey. Is there a more pompous fuck on earth than the Napoleonic Costas?I flip back to ABC, and I get to see that Zippy of Akron is named the Capital One mascot of the year. Zippy is a kangaroo. What in the fuck does Akron and kangaroos have to do with each other? Shouldn't Akron's mascot be a whitewall tire? Maybe a white letter tire? It is sportier, after all....We see the 1st half stats, and the Wolverines have 100 yards more passing than the Gators, and 62 yards more of total offense! I'm absolutely flabbergasted that the Wolverines are playing so well.2 more quarters in the Bo era. I'm not sure if I should be happy, or sad...Michigan will be kicking off...POOCH KICK! WOLVERINES RECOVER! Michigan ball in Gator territory! Florida was caught totally off guard, they were running backwards to set up blocking.Holy shit, Lloyd has turned into Le ...

Capital One Citrus Bowl musings: 2nd quarter Wolverines-Gators
2008-01-01 21:07:00
As we start the 2nd quarter, the we see the game stats. They are damn close, save for penalties. Wolverines dominate that stat... But the Gators are doing their best to catch up, as they are flagged on their 1st 2 plays of the quarter. After all the flag drama, the Gators end up 2nd and 17 from the Wolverines 18. sounds good, right?Wrong. Tebow throws a bubble screen, Caldwell shakes a wannabe Wolverine tackler at the 20...Then sprints into the end zone untouched. FUCK! That's the Wolverines defense I expected to see. A step slow, slightly off kilter, and bouncing off the opposition with lame arm tackles.14-7 Florida. For some odd reason, the Gators dribble the kickoff short, and Michigan returns it back to their own 44. That was a Lions-esque move by the Gators.Finally1 Henne completes a cross to Arrington, 1st down in Gator land! Michigan needs to score here, badly.Nice play by Manningham! He takes a flanker screen that looked to be going nowhere, yet he danced his way for 10 yards!Llo ...

Capital One Citrus Bowl musings: 1st quarter Wolverines-Gators
2008-01-01 20:00:00
As I'm just hanging out around the house on New Years Day, I thought I'd track the Wolverines game. This live blog won't be as detailed as my Lions diatribes, but we'll see how it goes...After watching Michigan march 93 yards down the field for a game opening TD against Florida, I said to myself, "Self, where in the HELL has that offense been all season?" Then I remembered that Chad Henne and Mike Hart are fully healthy for the first time in months. It makes you wonder how the Wolverines season would have turned out if Henne and Hart had been healthy this season. Hart ran hadn't run that aggressively since early October, and Henne's TD pass to Manningham was a pinpoint laser thrown between 2 Gators.7-0 Wolverines!Michigan's offense looks to have returned from the dead, but will the defense even slightly contain the Tim Tebow run spread? I seriously doubt it...From all indications, as Florida is moving the ball well on their first drive, this might be the game of the day... a shootout, l ...

Happy New Year from TWFE!
2008-01-01 01:36:00
Another year has gone by the books, and we are on the verge of 2008. Jesus, 2008?!In some ways, I'm sad to see 2007 go, as this was year TWFE began to truly spread it's wings. Especially over the last half of '07, when I realized that I was on to something with TWFE, and made a concerted effort to take the next step with this little blog.So far, so good! There has been a steady growth in visits and page views, especially over the past 3 months. Visits in 2007 have tripled over 2006. When I started TWFE 1 year and 362 days ago, I was happy with 1 post a day. Now my goal is 4 posts daily, and I want to increase that as the blog matures. I don't always reach that goal, you can debate the quality of the posts, and trust me, sometimes it isn't easy to write on a slow sports day. But I try to remember one of my favorite quotes, written by Robert Browning...“Ah, but a man's reach should exceed his grasp, or what's a heaven for?”OK, enough pretentiousness...When I decided the time had co ...

Answering the Detroit Lions week 17 "Burning questions"
2007-12-31 22:15:00
The Detroit Lions are done for the season. Which means it's time for the final regular season edition of TWFE answering Mike O'Hara's burning questions!Topics include: Should William Clay Ford's give Millen a "Win or else" ultimatum, how much Mike Martz is to blame, why the defense has gotten a free pass in comparison to the offense, and just how much better are the Lions over last season?Let's finish off the year with a bang, and light this candle!Burning questions following the Lions' 34-13 loss to the Packers on Sunday and the end of another failed season:Q: What should the owner, William Clay Ford, do immediately?O'Hara: Ford should give everybody this message: last chance. That means make the playoffs in 2008, or the owner changes everything from the top down. There should be no excuses -- for injuries, poor performance, lack of continuity in the coaching staff or the personnel department.Whatever it takes to win in 2008, no matter how ruthless decisions must be, it has to be done. ...

Above the Fold - Lions post mortem
2007-12-31 19:25:00
The NFL season is over in Detroit. The MSM and blogosphere poke at the remains of one of the most disappointing Lions seasons in memory, and find nothing encouraging. Absolutely nothing. The roster is lacking talent, the head coach is looking for a scapegoat, and the front office remains clueless.2008 will be another season of discontent. Such is out lot as Lions fans...The Freep's Drew Sharp agrees with me, it's past time to blow the Lions up.They're worse now than ever. And that's after a Matt Millen-record seven wins in a single season. The answer isn't sacrificing the offensive coordinator or writing one-way bus tickets out of town to the malingerers. The solution rests with changing a culture of institutional privilege that owner William Clay Ford Sr. has condoned for four decades. Politics is rewarded more than performance in this organization. That's why nothing ever changes. And nothing is going to change. Mike Martz will be martyred, scapegoated, and blamed. He deserves his fair s ...

Mlive comment of the day
2007-12-31 16:58:00
The Mliver's are not happy, not happy at all. Yesterday's loss to the Packers reserves has sent even the most optimistic of Lions fans over the edge. The optimism of 2 months ago has turned into a mixture rage, hate, disgust, and apathy. On most sites, that's a volatile mix. But on the loopy Milve? Hide the women and children...The Mliver's have taken a scorched earth policy in regard to the Lions, especially the front office. Blow the organization up, and let God sort 'em out. As you might guess, there are some novel length comments in the Killer's Lions recaps and commentary. But sometimes, the simplest comment is the best comment.chrisput1024 keeps it simple. One word simple...Cornbread!!!!!!!!!!!!That says it all about the Lions. Before every season, we fans eagerly slurp up the Lions cornbread, and drink the Lions Kool-aid. But we never learn. As always, the cornbread is stale, and the Kool-aid is spoiled. So at the end of every season we have a bad case of Lions indigestion. It's w ...

Blow it up: Final thoughts on Lions-Packers
2007-12-31 04:42:00
First, linkage to the final Detroit Lions live blog of the year. I hope I'm a better man for suffering through the pain that is watching the Lions...Only 4 torturous quarters left in the season: 1st quarter Lions-Packers thoughtsIs the season over yet? 2nd quarter Lions-Packers thoughtsJust end the season already! 3rd quarter Lions-Packers thoughtsI hate the Lions: 4th quarter Lions-Packers thoughts1. What else is there to say? We all saw this game. The Packers reserves beat the Lions best, their 1st string. They could have pulled some cheese eating fans off the street corners of Green Bay, and they would have beaten the Lions 1st string. It was THAT bad. The Packers clearly outclassed the Lions in every phase of the game. Remember, I'm talking about the Packers 2nd and 3rd string outclassing the Lions starters. The Lions are a team that is sorely lacking in talent on both sides of the ball. Yet the same bozo who "built" this team will be in charge of upgrading the roster this offseason ...

I hate the Lions: 4th quarter Lions-Packers thoughts
2007-12-30 22:15:00
The Packers start the 4th quarter having to punt, Furrey, is back for the Lions. It's a MONSTER! It's over Furrey's head...And it's downed at the 1 yard line. Jesus, that was a 73 yard punt! The Packers will challenge, claiming Furrey touched the ball, making it 1st down, Packers ball at the 1. I have no idea what they were looking at, but the replays show that it was close, but Furrey didn't touch the punt.Play stands as called. Thanks for wasting 5 minutes of my life, Green Bay.The Lions are bunched tight, and Duckett falls forward for maybe a yard."NUGGET ALERT!" HUH? I HATE FOX!Kitna drops back on 2nd down, ALMOST steps on the end line when rolling out, then throws it away. That was close... The Lions say "Fuck it," and just run Duckett off tackle on 3rd down, getting a yard. Miller and Brandstatter are calling out the Lions for pussing out on 3rd down when they are losing by 3 scores.Brandstatter: "A dive wouldn't have been my choice."Now the damn Wolverines mouthpiece gets brave, ...

Just end the season already! 3rd quarter Lions-Packers thoughts
2007-12-30 21:23:00
On FOX, they are discussing the fact that the Packers did what they wanted, getting the starters some playing time, and no one getting hurt. The Lions radio guys are talking about brats. That's both teams in a nutshell. The Pack are going to the playoffs, the Lions are a bunch of dogs...The Pack starts on their 35. It's a handoff to Jackson...He breaks a few tackles...And he's off to the races down the left sideline! Jackson is finally run out of bounds at the Lions 19. Yep, let's mail this fucker in, boys!Just under 30 minutes to go, and you stiffs can all collect your final checks, and call it a season.Red zone time. A Jackson run gets 5. Nall drops back...And is snowed under by the Lions rush. Shaun Rogers has made his one play for the day, that's the last we'll hear from him. 3rd and 19.Nall hits Robinson at the 15, and is brought down. it's 4th down, and the Pack will kick the chippie FG.Crosby drills it through from 33. Packers extend their lead over those hapless fucks known as ...

Is the season over yet? 2nd quarter Lions-Packers thoughts
2007-12-30 20:25:00
The Pack start with a short pass over the middle, that leaves a 3rd and 3 from the 4.On 2nd down, Favre drops...Pressured...Rolls right...And finds a wide open Bubba Franks standing at the goal line, as 3 Lions defenders are...are..Well, they sure as Hell aren't defending. They were just sort of standing around Franks. Another EASY drive for the Pack. With the kick, it's 21-3 Green Bay.Disgusting performance by the Lions. Moose is speculating that may the the last we see of the Packers starters. For the love of GOD, I hope so. I've had more than my fill of Favre love today. Though you can't deny he's played damn well.Moose: "Detroit has shown no signs, no signs, of being competitive." Damn straight.A pass to Duckett has the Lions in Packers territory. Cason running left gets another 1st down. A Kitna to Johsnon pass gets 6. Cason gets 3 off tackle. It's 3rd and a 1 from the Pack 24. Good drive so far, not that it means a fucking thing.Kitna drops back...This time it's Johnson with a st ...

Only 4 torturous quarters left in the season: 1st quarter Lions-Packers thoughts
2007-12-30 19:47:00
The NFL season is 3 hours away from ending for the Detroit Lions. 3 excruciating hours. The Lions were exposed as frauds by their road game ineptitude, so it's quite fitting that their most disappointing season since 2000 ends on the road, against a team they haven't beaten in their own stadium in 16 seasons. Even with the Pack having nothing to play for, I don't expect the road losing streak to end today. We are watching live the always frozen tundra at Green Bay's Lambeau Field. We are joined by the FOX C-team of Kenny Albert, Moose Johnston, and sideline reporter personality, who's only notable accomplishment is being a fat guy on a Super Bowl winning team, Tony Siragusa. As Mike Martz is a dead coordinator walking, I'm curious as to how he calls today's game. Will he go out in a blaze of glory, having Jon Kitna throw the ball 60 times? We shall see...Holy SHIT! Avieon Cason takes the kickoff, rumbles 52 yards, only brought down by a illegal trip! With the tripping penalty tacked on, ...

So much for the Mike Martz experience...
2007-12-30 03:15:00
Word comes from the LA Times tonight that Mike "Running game? What's a running game?" Martz, as expected, is out as Lions offensive coordinator after tomorrow's Packers game. Why the LA Times? Because Martz may be taking the advice of Horace Greeely seriously. That being "Go west, young man."But Martz may not be out of a job long. San Francisco is expected to pursue him to take over for offensive coordinator Jim Hostler. Martz, who coached the St. Louis Rams to the Super Bowl in 2001, appeals to the 49ers because of his familiarity with the NFC West and his ability to develop quarterbacks, as he has done with Kurt Warner, Marc Bulger and Jon Kitna.Martz might as well call himself Paladin, and hand out business cards that say, "Have passing game, will travel."Not that it's going to make any difference, now that Martz has all but one foot out the door, the Killer believes current receivers coach Kippy Brown will be promoted to take Martz's place. Between you and me, I wouldn't trust a ...

Put a sock in it, Sims
2007-12-29 19:54:00
Despite their 1-6 record in the second half of the season, the Detroit Lions continue to write checks their asses can't cash...For the Lions' defense, there’s a chance to keep Packers running back Ryan Grant under 1,000 yards rushing — a major goal for the Packers’ offensive line.Grant took over as the Packers’ top running back in the seventh game of the season, and needs 101 yards on Sunday to hit 1,000 for the season.“We’re definitely going to make sure it doesn’t happen,” linebacker Ernie Sims said. “We feel like it’s all on our shoulders for him not to get that 1,000 yards. Whatever it takes, that’s what we’re going to have to do.”Is that a guarantee? From the tone of Sims' comments, it sure sounds like one. Will the Lions EVER learn? I've never heard a team that talks such a big game, yet continually fails to back it up. Fails miserably...The Lions have had big ass mouths for decades. From Jimmy Allen's "Another One Bites the Dust," to Lomas Brown's guaran ...

If you are looking for cheap entertainment, it doesn't get much better than perusing the comments at Mlive. Killer Kowalski's articles get the most attention from the crazy ass Mliver's, and today is no exception. In the Killer's piece about Mike Martz's future, or should I say, the lack thereof, the aptly named LionCrap isn't happy that Martz is a dead coordinator walking. He likes the pass first, last and always, running game be damned, offense. His use of multiple exclamation points, and a plaintive cry to TOM! shows LC's intense frustration with the Lions...Figures! Our Defense sucks so we run our offensive coordinator out of town. I like pass-happy it's fun to watch and on any given play it could be a touchdown. We don't run the ball because Kevin Jones SUCKS!!!!! HE BLOWS!!!! Why does all the media in this town love KJ????!!! TOM!Fun to watch? This offense has been FUN TO WATCH!!!??? Dude, are we watching the same games? As for Kevin Jones, the only time the Lions offense became tr ...

I'm a member of the Gus Johnson Cult
2007-12-28 18:30:00
Hat tip goes to Detroit Bad Boys for pointing this out this wonderful news!Pistons play by play man George Blaha is in Orlando this afternoon to work his Sparty gig, and call the Champs Sports bowl game. So he'll be unable to work tonight's Pistons - Pacers game. As much as I'll miss the legendary Blaha on tonight's broadcast, the Pistons have replaced him with...Mr. NCAA tournament....GUS JOHNSON! Yes, THE Gus Johnson! The man who literally owns March Madness, the favorite son of Awful Announcing, who brokered peace between the warring Bill Simmons and Isiah Thomas, who could make a meaningless Lions game sound like a Super Bowl, will be broadcasting from the Palace tonight.Yes, you can count yours truly as a member of the Cult of Gus Johnson. I became a huge fan thanks to his thrilling NCAA tournament calls, and now make a point to catch a Gus Johnson called game whenever possible. He's that good.Yet CBS doesn't treat Johsnon with the respect he deserves. CBS committed a criminal a ...

You can't discuss the future when you don't have one
2007-12-28 01:20:00
The Lions beat writers are all reporting in their respective fishwraps that Mike Martz "remains mum" and "won't discuss future with Lions."“Well, maybe we’ll talk after the season. Who knows? Don’t worry about that stuff, guys. Let’s just concentrate on beating the Packers right now.”And that's actually a surprise? The man is supposed to be a genius. At the very least, he's no dummy. So Martz knows, as Hawk Harrelson would say, "He gone." To talk about anything other than this Sunday's game against the Packers is a waste of breath. You want me to stay, Kitna?! You want to throw for 5000 yards next season?!DO YOU?! THEN PRAY! Pray to your GOD to SMITE Marinelli! If FOX wants a storyline for the game that doesn't revolve around Brett Favre (A pipe dream, I know), may I suggest...Mike Martz, dead coordinator walking.

I'm sick and tired
2007-12-27 21:38:00
I'm sick and tired. Mostly in thanks to my body clock still running on Pacific time, and managing to catch a cold while in Vegas. But that's not the only reason I'm sick and tired. I'm sick and tired of a lot of things.I'm especially sick and tired of certain memes and stereotypes that continually pop up when I read about the Detroit sports scene. Such as...1. Jokes about Matt Millen drafting wide receivers. They were once funny...4 years ago. Now it's just an uncreative, lazy, cheap shot. I'm not saying that Millen doesn't deserve every possible cheap shot you can throw at him, as he does, but let's move the fuck on, OK?There's plenty of other material to rip Millen about, from the awful Dre' Bly trade, to the drafting of Drew Stanton at the expense of strengthening the defense, to his 70's porn 'stache, to his horrific W-L record as GM. I'm calling for a moratorium on Millen/wide receiver jokes.* I'm begging you, this is one horse that is truly beat to death.*Unless he drafts another ...

Above the Fold - Want Red Wings coverage? You won't find it in the MSM
2007-12-27 20:10:00
The Red Wings do all the right things, yet continue to fly under the Detroit sports radar. I'm guilty as the next guy, as I watched very little of last night's big win over the resurgent Blues. Personally, I'm still in a football mindset. I was totally sucked into the highly entertaining basketball game on field turf that was the Motor City Bowl. Go Chips!Out of the 4 pro sports teams in town, the Wings are 4th, and falling. For example, it was announced yesterday that the Red Wings signed the best defenseman in hockey, the odds on favorite to win another Norris Trophy, a 1st ballot hall of fame lock, and team captain, the great Niklas Lidstrom, to a 2 year contract extension.Lidstrom represents all that is right with sports, top 5 in his position all-time, who will rank with the like of Howe, Yzerman, Lindsay, Sawchuck, Abel, and Delvecchio in the pantheon of Wings greats, yet his signing created less buzz in Detroit as the aforementioned Motor City Bowl. The hot topic on sports tal ...

The Mliver's are up in arms today. (To be honest, they are always up in arms, but whatever...) Why? Two words. Mike Martz.Today's CotD comes from the Killer's article rehashing the "Will he stay, or will he go?" question regarding Martz's future with the Lions. Jon Kitna chimed in, for better or worse, put his full support behind Martz, and his pass every down scheme. As you might guess, the loopy Mliver's feelings are mixed on the subject of Martz. Many are ready to let him walk. Others say offense is not the problem, it's all about the defense. Of course, there's a big faction that claims nothing will male a difference, that there is no hope at all, while another faction believes any criticism of the Lions means you aren't a true fan.But one Mliver gets it, osgood. (Chris? We can only hope.) Along with being a good goaltender, osgood is short, succinct, and straight to the point. The Lions are already mathematically eliminated from next years playoffs. Now that's a true fan who kno ...

Though I was in Vegas for only 4 days, it feels like I've been away from the blog much longer. I'll admit that I missed having the pulpit, no matter how small, to voice my opinions. So I'm going to try and make up for lost time.Leaving the Lions out of the equation, which is always a good idea, there were two stories that broke in the D while I was drinking and gambling up a storm in the pacific time zone.Story 1 - Dontrelle Willis signs a 3 year, $29 million deal with the Tigers:I wonder if Rob Parker still thinks Dave Dombrowski is the worst GM in Detroit? As we all know that Parker is, to put it gently, mentally challenged, I'm sure he does. But everyone else in their right mind has realized by now that Dombrowski is in the same realm as the other master team builders in town, Joe Dumars and Ken Holland. The singing of Willis is just another example as to why Dombrowski is acknowledged as one of MLB's best GM's.Think about it. For less money than career stiff Carlos Silva receive ...

As life slowly returns to normal at TWFE HQ after the holidays, there's no better way to slide back into routine than to check out the loopy Mlive commenters. The Killer ran a column stating that the Packers current head coach, Mike McCarthy, was in line to become the Lions' offensive coordinator going into what turned out to be Mooch's final season. Mooch didn't take kindly to the idea of hiring someone who would make big changes in his "wet toast" offense, so he hired the bland Ted Tollner behind Millen's back instead. It was an interesting piece about the Lions' never-ending front office turmoil. But fandetsports would rather think positively than think rationally. A little too positively methinks, as he seems to believe the Lions need just one player, a player known as the DIFFERENCE MAKER... Answering the Detroit Lions week 16 "Burning questions"
2007-12-25 03:28:00
With Christmas almost upon us, that means the NFL regular season is almost over. It also means that, once again, the Lions are playing out the string.Even though the games mean next to nothing, we still have to do our due diligence, and answer the latest batch of burning questions. from the Detroit News' Mike O'Hara. It's Christmas Eve, so make yourself comfortable. Let's curl up next to the Yule log, grab a cup of eggnog, and answer us some fiery queries!Burning questions from the Lions' 25-20 victory over the Chiefs at Ford Field on Sunday:Q: The Lions ended their six-game losing streak. Should they rejoice?O'Hara: No. Winning is always better than losing, and they should be happy that they won a game -- even against one of the NFL's worst teams. They deserve to feel good, to a point, but there is something about the game that should haunt the Lions for a long time.Big Al: Rejoice over struggling to win an absolutely meaningless game against the NFL's worst team after pissing away a s ...

...And boy, are my arms tired! //rimshot//To be truthful, I'm tired all over. Boozing and gambling on very little sleep for 4 days straight tends to do that to a person. Especially when you drank more in 4 days than in the past 4 months combined. Despite my dragging ass today, the trip was totally worth it. I had a great time, and I'm definitely not going to wait another 7 years before I go back.Things I learned on my Las Vegas pilgrimage:1. Absolutely no one cares about the Detroit Lions in Las Vegas. The guy behind the counter in the sports book seemed to be honestly surprised to be taking my action on the most meaningless NFL game of the weekend. In the casino we were hanging out in Sunday, I had to search high and low to find a decent spot to watch the Lions game. I apologize for the lack of posts the last day or so, as real life has gotten in the way.I just wanted to warn you few diehards that visit TWFE on a regular basis that posting will soon stop for a few days. You'll be going cold turkey (To be honest, so will I), as The Wayne Fontes Experience will be on hiatus from Thursday 12/20, through Sunday 12/23. But it's for a very good reason...I'm leaving the D tomorrow morning for a long weekend, and heading to one of my favorite cites in the entire known universe, Las Vegas! I know the holidays are right around the corner, but who's going to turn down a trip to Vegas? Anyone? Didn't think so.I'll be staying at the parent's time share on the (Far south end of the) strip, and expect hope to be liquored up the vast majority of the time. I'll have internet and email access through my trusty Sprint Ambassador approved Samsung phone, so I can check/answer email, upload any pictures to TWFE I may take while in a drunken haze, post beer fueled rants ...

Above the Fold - Examining the Detroit Lions' remains
2007-12-18 19:20:00
Now that the Lions are dead and buried, officially playing out the string, it's time to pile on the Honolulu blue and silver. The Lions blogosphere, whom can pile on better than anyone, examines a Lions team that looked like a shoo-in for a playoff spot, but are now on the outside, looking in.When it some to the Lions, there are many questions in search of an answer. Just what in the Hell happened to the Lions? Why the fold job? Was it Millen's fault? Marinelli's? Are they that low on talent? Who's coming back for 2008? Who's getting the proverbial bus ticket out of town? Why ate we still fans? Why do we still care? The Detroit Lions are an enigma that no one can figure out. But let's try anyway...At the Fanhouse, they shoot holes in Rod Marinelli's claim that the Lions DO have talent, but aren't being coached properly.
