Eagles Select Bryan Smith With The 80th Pick
2008-04-27 22:53:10
Bryan Smith is an undersized defensive end from McNeese State who many feel will have to move to OLB in the NFL. The Eagles do love undersized defensive ends, and it will be interesting to see where they wind up playing him. To me he seems like another small speed defensive end, who can stand [...] ...
Eagles Take DeSean Jackson With The 49th Pick
2008-04-27 03:05:58
I was not a fan of taking Cal WR DeSean Jackson with the 19th pick, but the Eagles were able to land him well into the second round. Jackson is a very crisp route runner, and has blazing fast speed(runs a sub 4.3 40). He has a great ability to create deep separation, and make big plays [...] ...
Eagles Select Trevor Laws With The 47th Pick
2008-04-27 02:38:32
I love this pick. The Eagles do have a big need at DT. The starters are very good, but they have nothing after Patterson, and Bunkley. Trevor Laws from Notre Dame has decent size and moves pretty well. He reminds me of Mike Patterson with a little more bulk. Laws was unstoppable force at the Senior Bowl, and should [...] ...
Eagles Trade Down Again
2008-04-27 01:32:30
UPDATE! Eagles Gain 4th In Trade With Vikings. The Eagles traded the 43d pick they acquired from the Panthers, dealt that and a fifth-round choice (152 overall) to the Minnesota Vikings. In return, the Eagles received the Vikings’ second pick, 47th overall, and an additional fourth-round pick, the 117th selection. The Eagles traded the 43rd pick overall to [...] ...
Eagles Trade For Lorenzo booker
2008-04-27 00:22:41
The Eagles just acquired RB and return specialist Lorenzo Booker for a 4th round pick(114). Booker was a third round pick of the Miami Dolphins just last year, but did not get much playing time as a rookie. Booker is basically your typical scat back type. He is very quick, agile, and a great receiver. At [...] ...
Eagles Trade The 19th Pick
2008-04-26 23:16:23
UPDATE! Eagles get Carolina’s next years 1st, this years 2nd, and this years 4th! In my opinion the Eagles just fleeced the Panthers. With Branden Albert and Chris Williams off the board, the Eagles backed out of this first round for next year. Getting an extra 2nd, and a 4th on top of that makes this a [...] ...

Sixers Blow Out The Pistons
2008-04-26 18:50:48
After getting killed from start to finish in game 2, many felt the real Pistons had shown up, and the Sixers were done for. People were calling the Sixers game 1 victory a fluke, and I heard many say that Detroit would finish the series in 5. Well all of those nay sayers were wrong. The [...] ...
Last Minute Mock Draft
2008-04-26 17:49:11
Team 1st Round 1. Miami Dolphins - OT Jake Long, Michigan The Dolphins have already worked out a contract with Jakes Long, and he will be the number 1 pick in this weekends draft. Long brings a toughness and attitude that the Dolphins offensive line has not had in years. 2. St. Louis Rams - DE Chris Long, Virginia The [...] ...

Last week former Phillies catcher, and baseball analyst John Marzano shockingly died in his South Philadelphia home. Comcast did a very nice piece on Johnny Marz last night, and here it is. ...
Favre Gets Madden ‘09 Cover
2008-04-26 08:20:04
This years Madden cover athlete does not have to worry about getting hit with the Madden curse. That is because it will be retired Packers’ QB Brett Favre. Favre finished his career on a high note having a very good season, and still has the popularity to be on the cover of the biggest sports game [...] ...
Lito Sheppard Visited Tampa Bay
2008-04-25 06:28:28
Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com is reporting that Lito Sheppard visited with the Buccaneers on Wednesday, and they are currently the front runner to deal for the 26 year old corner back. Glazer reports that the deal would be Lito for a 2nd round pick and a player. Sources I have talked to say that player would be [...] ...

Flyers Advance With Huge Game 7 OT Victory
2008-04-23 09:04:50
I always hear how overtime NHL playoff games are the most exciting thing in sports. I disagree. To me overtime in hockey is gut wrenching and unnerving.  Every time the Caps got the puck in the Flyers zone my heart starting racing about 200 mph, and I could barely stay still at the edge my my seat. All of [...] ...
Donovan McNabb Calls For Help Now
2008-04-23 02:00:30
Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb gave a brief interview on ESPN’s Sports Center today. He talked about the potential of getting Chad Johnson, the upcoming NFL draft, and Madden ‘09. Most of his answers were the usual politically correct statements, but one thing he said really stuck out to me. McNabb said that he did not want the [...] ...

Fly Guys Blow Another 2 Goal Lead
2008-04-22 08:48:46
The Flyers once very comfortable 3 games to 1 lead is now gone. The Washington Capitols have climbed back in this series winning the last two games, including storming back from a two goal deficit last night. The night started off great as Mike Richards slammed back a rebound for an early goal. The puck took [...] ...

The Sixers Shock The World
2008-04-21 06:39:13
Game 1 Sixers vs Pistons 2008 Playoffs What a great game, and a huge win for the Sixers. They are a huge dog in this series, and many have predicted the veteran Pistons team to sweep the young inexperienced Sixers. Looks like those basketball “experts” were wrong. Most teams pack it in down 15, but the Sixers [...] ...
Eagles To Trade For Dewayne Robertson?
2008-04-20 20:18:18
Jets’ defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson visited the Nova Care Complex on Friday(nothing beats 2 day old news). The Eagles worked Robertson out, and gave him a physical. They don’t have to say it, but these actions obviously mean they have some serious interest in Robertson, and may trade for him in next weekends NFL draft. The [...] ...
Sweet 2008 Schedule
2008-04-20 07:03:32
I just got this great looking 2008 schedule emailed to me, and I had to share it right away. A friend of mine, Matt Roberts has some crazy photo shop skills, and he hooked me up with this really sharp looking Eagles schedule. Feel free to use it if you like, but just please give [...] ...
The Eagles Should Pounce On Jared Allen
2008-04-17 22:19:25
Jay Glazer is reporting that the Chiefs are actively shopping Jared Allen, and his days in Kansas City are numbered. He has a meeting with the Minnesota Vikings already set up, and Tampa Bay after them. The Jaguars have also shown some interest, and the Eagles should be. Jared Allen has gotten better each year in the [...] ...
Eagles Sign Punter/Kicker Rich McGee
2008-04-17 01:36:04
The Eagles brought in another punter to compete with Sav Rocca today. Rich McGee signed a three year deal, and he has a very strong leg according to what I have read on him. He is apparently excellent at booming the ball into the end zone on kickoffs. If he were to win the punting [...] ...
The Sixers Get Jobbed
2008-04-15 19:47:50
(the 700 level) The NBA owes the Sixers an apology for this one. First off they never called a foul, so how can they look at a replay and then say foul? Then when you look at it, Dalembert got pushed in the back by Ilgaskus. That was the FOUL! I have never seen anything like [...] ...
Christian BAM BAM Varner
2008-04-15 18:29:24
If you don’t know the name, then you need to watch this video. Christian Varner from Maryland is not one of the top rated  free safeties in this draft, but he sure does play like one. This guy hits hard and has a great ability to break up passes. He did not do very well at [...] ...

2008-04-12 08:49:30
By now I am sure everybody has seen the shoe commercial where Philadelphia’s favorite NBA player Kobe Bryant leaps over an Aston Martin. What people have not seen, is this video of what really happened before the video was edited. Pay close attention to this. ...

Draft Spotlight: Branden Albert
2008-04-07 12:05:06
As the draft approaches teams are starting to configure their final draft boards, and target certain players in the draft. I have heard from a few sources that Branden Albert is one of the Bird’s favorite prospects. Andy Reid loves to draft lineman in the first round, and it is widely known that the team has [...] ...

2008-04-05 21:50:35
Some new players finally got their new player numbers. Kris Wilson was given number 88, Dan Klecko got 49, Bam Childress 11, and Jamal Jones will wear number 85. Since Asante Samuel took Joselio Hanson’s number, 22, Hanson has a new number, 21. Chris Clemens changed his number from 50 to 91 already. Rocky Boiman [...] ...
